My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul

Chapter 1299

Stephen knew very well that Simona's heart belonged to him, but he had to make her completely his today.

"I like everything you ordered, so let's stick to that," Stephen said.

Simona nodded. "Alright."

After a few minutes, Simona took a few sips of water as she gathered her courage and said, "Stephen, can we talk?"

She had thought about it for a long time and realized she might have been too impulsive before.

Stephen nodded, looking at Simona with a gentle gaze, as if she was the only person in his world. "What do you want to talk about?"

"You know I don't have many close family members besides my brother. And I still don't know much about your family. Can you tell me about them?" Simona tried to make her tone sound casual.

It seemed that when women were with someone they liked, they became cautious. Her current demeanor was so different from before.

She used to ask whatever she wanted directly and had a fiery temper. When she was with Caleb, she would speak her mind freely. But now that she had grown up, she was more timid.

It must be because she really cared about Stephen.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

Stephen's expression shifted slightly. He hadn't expected Simona to suddenly ask about this.

In their usual interactions, he was careful not to mention his family much, giving the impression that he was somewhat self-conscious about it. This made it difficult for others to ask questions.

And up until now, Simona had never brought it up, likely because she was afraid of making him uncomfortable. Yet now, she had taken the initiative. He had a big family, but they were very poor.

"My parents have always been farmers. They've never been to a big city, not even to Jipsburg, probably because they don't want to spend money on train tickets.

"As for my three elder sisters, they've been supporting my education and haven't married yet. Now that I can earn money through part-time work, they can start thinking about their own lives," Stephen said calmly as he talked about his family.

He knew he couldn't keep these things hidden forever. Thankfully, he had gradually let Simona know bits and pieces about his family situation over time. So, he believed that she was mentally prepared and wouldn't mind too much.

Simona nodded. "Your parents and sisters have indeed worked hard."

"I've made up my mind before coming here with you today. We should break up. I don't want you to regret this later. I don't want our love to change because of many other concerns."

He used this strategy of retreating to advance many times in high school, and many girls fell for it and felt sorry for him.

Simona's eyes widened in shock.

"Why are you talking about breaking up out of nowhere? I just wanted to know more about you, nothing else. Stephen, from the moment we started this relationship, I was serious about it, and I believe you were too."

"Simona, what if your brother insists on us breaking up? I know no matter what we do, he might never agree to us being together," Stephen said, his gaze locked on Simona, trying to make her take a stand.

Simona shook her head. "No, once my brother understands what kind of person you are and meets you, he will accept you. These are not obstacles between us, Stephen. I've always believed that you're a strong, independent person."

Stephen frowned slightly. He hadn't expected Simona's attitude to suddenly become so resolute. He couldn't help but ask, "Simona, I'm saying what if."

"Hey, Simona?"

They heard a surprised voice coming from the side.

Simona and Stephen looked up at the same time.
