Chapter 1101
"Alright," Christopher said with a nod. "Anything else you want me to tell them?"
Sydney pondered for a moment before saying, "Please bring the divorce papers to Wesley and tell him that I want a divorce."
Joy flashed past the depths of Christopher's eyes when he heard about the divorce, but he quickly turned solemn and asked, "Are you sure about this?"
Sydney nodded.
"I am. Firstly, I've been wanting to divorce him for a long time. Secondly, it's more convincing to serve him divorce papers after disappearing for a while. Just tell him that I'm with you now and I'm a willing party. If they don't believe you, I'll go back and tell them myself after I recover a few days later."
Christopher was ready to give in to her in everything.
Nodding again, he said, "Alright, I'll do as you say. Do you have specific requirements in the divorce agreement? Do you want to include anything about asset division?"
"No," Sydney said, shaking her head. "I don't want any of the Spencers' things. I have everything I need and I'm not short of money. I don't need Wesley's assets."
"Alright, then. I'll draft a divorce agreement for you and let you read through it when it's ready."
Sydney nodded.
Christopher then left the ward to make a call. Very soon, he returned after ending the call.
"I've instructed my secretary to draft the divorce agreement. He'll send it over later."
He raised a hand and gently caressed Sydney's head.Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
"You've suffered so much. I promise you, you'll never..."
"Don't make me any promises," Sydney said, cutting him off. "I've heard many promises from many e men, and they fulfilled none of them. I ended up crying and being in pain despite their promises, so don't make any more promises, okay?"
Her voice was drenched with hopelessness.
Christopher stood stunned. Melancholy hung heavy over his heart.
"Okay, I won't. I'll make it up to you. I'll give you anything you ask for."
"Make it up to me for the sake of your mother?" Sydney chuckled. "What if I want her to go to jail?"
Christopher went silent.
Sydney smiled helplessly. "I don't want to talk about this anymore. I'm exhausted and my body hurts. I just want to recuperate, so let's talk about this after I get better."
Sydney was all out of energy to talk about this. She was in enough pain and didn't want to add to her suffering. She could tell what Christopher was thinking, and she could understand that he wanted to defend his mother.
However, she was the one who was abducted and tortured. No matter whose mother Chandra was, Sydney hated that woman to the core.
Christopher hadn't thought of a
good way to settle this matter. He
knew clearly that his mother had done something wicked that deserved punishment, but she was still his mother. He couldn't be so ruthless as to ignore that fact.
On the other hand, his heart ached for Sydney. He wanted his mother to pay the price for her actions to a certain extent and make it up to
vel
Sydney. He was willing to do
anything to make it up to her for the
pain she went through.
Both women were very important to him, and he couldn't choose between them right now.
He really wanted to find an ideal way to settle this.
Right now, the only thing he wanted was for Sydney to recover. After she got better, they would discuss this. He trusted that every problem had a solution.
He was willing to do anything to make it up to her.
