Chapter 1102
A few people were seated in the vast living room. They were Theodore, Rosalie, Wesley, and Christopher.
Christopher had only asked to meet Theodore and Wesley, but Theodore contacted Rosalie, whom he felt was family.
Rosalie put her child in infant care and rushed over. When she heard that this concerned Sydney, she hurried over without any hesitation.
The four of them sat on the couch, the air around them slightly awkward.
"Pardon me," Christopher began, "Sydney needs some time alone and asked me to reach out to you."
"Mr. Jackson," Theodore said coldly. "You contacted us a few days ago saying that my mother is with you and safe. Now that you're right here, I'd like to ask you: what is she doing with you? If she's with you, why does she want to erase all traces of it? Could it be that she's not with you willingly?" "That's right!" Wesley added. "Why is my wife with you for no rhyme or reason? You'll have to give us a good explanation today."
They knew who Christopher was, but they didn't fear him. The Spencers were equally powerful and influential, and didn't fear people of power. Such a meeting usually ended up being a power struggle with an unpredictable ending.
Christopher glanced at Rosalie calmly, and his eyes softened. "Is there anything you want to say to me?"
Rosalie looked at the three men before her. Her voice was soft, a stark contrast with the aggressiveness of all three men. "I hope you can give us a reasonable explanation."
She could sense that Christopher was of decent character.
"All of you are right. I should give you a reasonable explanation," Christopher said. "Sydney was indeed with me over the past few days, because we're dating."
Shock registered in Wesley's eyes. "What did you say?!"
He instinctively responded with agitation.
Theodore grabbed his father's arm. "Let's hear him out first."
Wesley was furious. Before, Sydney had told him that she had another man in her life. Was she referring to Christopher?
Wesley suppressed his anger and
snarled, "She's dating you, and now she mysteriously disappeared? That doesn't make sense! For all we
know you forced her into it
given
how powerful and influential you
are.
"I didn't do that. She wanted to divorce you and mentioned it to you many times, but you refused. I'm sure you know this clearer than I do," Christopher pointed out.
Wesley's face turned darker and
darker with displeasure, and his fists
clenched tighter. He couldn't believe how heartless Sydney was-she even told Christopher that!
"Now that I see how short-tempered you are, I can finally understand why she needs some time to calm down. The Spencers suffocate her and so do you, as her husband. She needs some peace and quiet with me. I'm sorry we didn't inform you right from the start, but she's very safe right now," Christopher continued; he spoke very courteously.
"So, where's my mom right now? Why must I take just your word for it? How do I know if you're lying or not?" Theodore asked.
Christopher sighed. "I understand how you feel, but it's true that she personally asked me to tell all of you this on her behalf. I even have a document to prove it."
He placed a document folder on the table and gently pushed it to them.
Wesley grabbed it, opened it up, and saw a divorce agreement inside. His eyes turned red.Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
