Chapter 168
He tried to pull Lemira back, but she was as slippery as an eel, quickly finding her way to the very center of the dance floor.
Once Lemira let loose with her dancing, she instantly drew a crowd's attention.
In no time, she became the center of attention. Orion, seeing this, couldn't help but feel helpless, thinking to himself that he knew he shouldn't have let her drink, not even cocktails.
From a VIP room nearby, Dorian caught sight of Lemira dancing and whistled appreciatively, "Nice moves."
Evelina, standing next to him, felt a twinge of jealousy. It seemed true that any flashy siren could capture a man's gaze.
She had been stringing Dorian along without any real intention of committing.
But today, after receiving a call that might have been from her father, she panicked at the thought of losing the Langstons' backing. She realized she needed to secure a rich boyfriend and get married quickly. Coincidentally, Dorian had declared his affection at the bar that evening, and Evelina reluctantly accepted.
Evelina gritted her teeth, "Dorian, let's go dance too."
"Sure."
Dorian kept his eyes on the girl dancing in the middle of the floor, but he had to be subtle because of Evelina. After all, he had just won her over and not bonked her yet.
Soon, Lemira noticed Dorian and Evelina approaching with her peripheral vision.

Turning, Lemira headed towards Orion, but a sleazy guy blocked her path, "Hey foxy lady, you've got some sexy moves. How about a drink? It's on me." "Don't need it."
Lemira declined promptly, but the man persisted, "Come on, you're here alone anyway. You already came to this bar, don't be such a prude." "Who says I'm alone?"
Lemira pointed at Orion and turned back to the sleazy guy, "He's my boyfriend."
Orion turned his head upon hearing this, his gaze deeply fixed on the girl beside him.
Though the lighting was dim, it seemed as if she was the only thing shining. He swallowed hard, casting a cold look at the sleazy man.
His gaze was stern, with a hint of intimidation. The sleazy guy backed off, trying to save face, "Don't make stuff up. I didn't see you two together. He's not really your boyfriend, is he?"
"Who said that?"
Lemira promptly looped her arm through Orion's, "Does this prove it?"
Orion froze on the spot. Despite the deafening music, he could feel his heartbeat out of sync. Seeing this, the sleazy guy finally walked away.
Lemira breathed a sigh of relief, and then realizing what she had done, looked up at the man in front of her, "Um, was just trying to get rid of that sleazy guy's harassment."
At that moment, she felt she had been too bold. Maybe it was because of the slight buzz from the alcohol, or the music and atmosphere that she had dared to act this way. Orion's gaze was like a whirlpool, seemingly able to draw people in. Lemira felt uneasy under his stare, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that."
She was panicking inside, filled with regret.
With so many people around, Orion pulled Lemira into his arms, his voice low and husky, "Now you see how chaotic it can get here. Don't come to places like this anymore!" His voice carried a hint of raspiness.
Being in his embrace, Lemira could
feel the warmth from his chest, and her heartbeat sped up. She
mustered some courage, "I'll find a boyfriend just like you in the future!"
