Stranded with the Billionaire

TWENTY EIGHT: SAGE

S A G E

Sage  tried not to give in to the frustration that welled up in his stomach. He spent the evening following what he thought was a herd of deer, only to have the trail turn chilly. It was now miles from camp and it was getting dark.

Not to mention he has no food.

The rustle of the trees above made him  slow down and hide behind a bush. Looking up, he saw a squirrel jumping over the top of a tree. He pulled the gun out of his hand and slung it over his shoulder. It’s food and he’s hungry.

He got ready by pulling the trigger and gunfire rang out. Immediately, the squirrel fell from the tree to the ground in front of him. He grabbed her and tied her feet to the rope he carried. One more, and they’ll be ready for dinner.

Sunset surrounded him as he returned to camp. Fortunately, he left a mark on the tree, which brought him back. Without them, he cannot find his way. Everything looks the same.

After killing another squirrel, he accelerates. As he approached the camp, he strained his eyes to peer through the foliage. There was no light of a roaring fire. His stomach tightened as fear flashed through his mind. Where was Irena ?

As he passed through the trees, he looked around. Where was she?

Titan  barked and rushed towards him. Sage  bent down and ruffled the dog’s fur. “Where is she?” he asked, trying to hide the worry in his voice.

Titan  tilted his head to the side. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

She left you here? It was his limp attempt  to ease the heaviness in his stomach. Suddenly he cursed himself. Why did he leave her alone? She didn’t know what she was doing. And she almost died yesterday. Sage  ran a hand through his hair as he leaned his rifle against a nearby tree and looked around.

“Irena ?”

Nothing.

His heart was pounding like it wanted to jump out of his chest and fly away. She must be fine. She just had to.

“Where’s she?” he asked Titan , who was following  him as he walked the camp.

Titan  did not respond.

“Irena?”

A rustle was heard to his left. He spun around, now wishing he had a gun with him. But maybe it was better. Right now he was so nervous that he might accidentally shoot when he didn’t need to.

The noise is getting louder and louder. Sage  had prepared his position for any creatures that were about to rush through the foliage. He was silent while he waited. Hope to get the jump on the animal.

When the creature appeared, Sage  ran towards it. He turned and his eyes met hers. That’s Irena. His eyes widened. She screamed and dropped the firewood she was holding in her arms.

“What are you doing?” she raised her hand and asked.

Relief flooded Sage ‘s chest. She was safe. Admittedly, a little scared, but she’s fine. He reached out and grabbed her arm and pulled her to his chest.

“I think an animal attacked you,” he said, letting her body feel next to him.

“Sage ,” she whispered, pressing her hand to her chest and stepping back. “You strangled me.”

“Oh, sorry,” he said looking down at her. Big mistake. She’s too close. He could only lean down and brush his lips over hers. And he wants it. Dude, he wants it so bad.
