Chapter 327
Dustin eyed the young man and frowned.
It was obvious that Troy had tried to woo Shawna. The look in his eyes was unmistakable.
"This must be your mother. Wow, you're gorgeous! You're just as charming as your daughter. It's no surprise that you're her mother. You look amazing!" Troy had a way with words.
Maisie just smiled in response.
"And this is...?"
Troy looked at Dustin and raised an eyebrow.
"His name is Dustin Fox. He's Shawna's best friend," Maisie said.
She could see that Shawna disliked Troy. That was why she called Dustin her best friend.
"Mom!" Shawna was taken aback. She never thought that her mother would say something so shocking.
Troy's face stiffened for a moment. He looked displeased.
He had chased after Shawna for three whole years in university. He did not even give up after graduation. Yet, he never got a chance with her. Where did this punk come from? He looked so distasteful. Did Shawna really like him?
Troy himself was from a respectable family. There was no way Dustin was better than him.
"Shawna, is this true?" Troy asked.
"I guess so..." Shawna said hesitantly.
She had wanted to clarify things, but she realized that there was no need to. It was much better to let Troy misunderstand this.
"You're really lucky, pal," Troy said kindly. His smile was a little strained.
"We're here to buy a house," Dustin said curtly. He was unfazed.
"Is that so?" Troy's eyes shone. He waved the sales agent away and served Dustin and the others himself.
"Please come this way," he said and walked toward the table display.
"West River Institute has always sold high-end properties. They don't come cheap and start at several million dollars. Mr. Fox, you must be quite successful at such a young age. It's no wonder that Shawna is interested in you."
Troy sounded like he was praising Dustin, but there was a hidden meaning behind his words.
When it came to success and capability, he was sure that he was worlds better than Dustin.
Shawna must be blind to be interested in Dustin.
"Mr. Fox, our properties are somewhat unique in that we only accept full payment for them. We don't accept payment in installments," Troy said. "Are you implying that I can't afford it?" Dustin asked coolly.
"Of course not! Someone Shawna is interested in could never be so incapable," Troy said with a smile. "With your capabilities, you should instead be looking at the villas, Mr. Fox."
Troy was trying to provoke and mock Dustin at the same time.
"Why aren't you showing me the villas, then? Why are we wasting time here?" Dustin asked in displeasure.
Troy's eyes narrowed.
'What a fake! Let's see how long he can keep it up...' he thought. He smiled again and walked over to the table display for the villas.

"Mr. Fox, West River Mansion's villas are all designed uniquely. The lowest priced one costs at least 10
million dollars. Would you like i
to
take a look?"
Dustin waved the suggestion off.
"There's no need to look at it. Just give me the contract. I want the most expensive one."
Troy's face froze.
He did not think that Dustin would keep up his act.
Dustin really was not going to learn his lesson until he faced the consequences.
"Bring me the contract," Troy told the sales agent.
"Dustin, have you gone nuts?" Shawna turned pale.
"Do you know how much West River Institute's most expensive villa costs? It's 40 million dollars!"
Grayvale was not a huge metropolis. So, 40 million dollars for a villa was an extravagant price.
Troy placed the contract before Dustin.
Without another word, Dustin picked up a pen and signed it.
Shawna's vision went dark for a moment. She nearly fainted.
Where was Dustin going to get 40 million dollars from? This was not a contract he could sign on a whim!
Dustin was a mere security guard at Creative Arts Corporation. How was he going to cough up 40 million dollars?novelbin
"What kind of consequences?"
“It will be handled through the legal system. You will face a heavy conviction!" Troy said heavily. He glanced toward the front door.
The security guards there immediately approached.
"You really underestimate me," Dustin said coldly.
Troy's face froze, and his gaze turned vicious.
"It's only 40 million dollars. That's just pocket change for me."
