Miss, My Father loves you

They were about to shoot the first scene. Daryl wasn't a part of it yet because kids would play that act. It was about the childhood of the main characters.

Daryl would act in the afternoon. She got the supporting role named Tara. She was a humble maid and then became the emperor's concubine.

Even though the emperor didn't love her, she was willing to sacrifice everything for his sake. Unknown to her, she was just a pawn that he was using to protect his queen.

Tara's character was someone talented but humble and modest. Her family declined, and she was sold to the imperial palace. She fell in love with the emperor, but she got drugged and had a miscarriage. She was saved by a foreign minister. She changed her face and came back for revenge.

Daryl stared blankly at the script for a long time. When she accepted this work, she was clueless about the supporting role's life.

Now that she read the plot, she had the urge to laugh sarcastically. Was God trying to make fun of her? She knew that there were lots of coincidences in the world, but she didn't expect that she would play a role with similar life experiences. "Here's your favorite fruit juice."

Sofia was always considerate. She even got out of her way to get her favorite drink.

"Thank you very much." Daryl took the cup and drank the juice as she watched the shooting.

Daryl noticed that Vivian's serious face as she observed the young girls' excellent acting.

When they wrapped up the scene, Vivian had a satisfied smile.

"These girls are good," Sofia commented.

"I agree."

Daryl nodded.

At the end of the filming, the child who played the lead role ran towards Daryl.

"Are you Daryl?"

Based on her height and physical appearance, the kid seemed to be thirteen years old. Her face wasn't that notable, but she emitted an attractive charm whenever she smiled. "Do you know me?"

Honestly, Daryl was a little surprised. She had just returned to the industry and very few people from the entertainment circle knew her.

"Daryl, I love your movies!"

The girl beamed at her as she showed her a pen and a notebook. "My name is Billie. Can you give me your autograph?"

"Sure!"

Daryl returned her joyful voice just as much. Billie handed her the notebook and pen. "I pasted a lot of your photos here. That's how much I love every role you played!"

"Thank you so much for loving me for so many years."

Daryl signed the paper as she lowered her head. She tried her best to keep the tears in her eyes.

When Sofia saw the scene unfold in front of her, she couldn't help but heave a sigh of relief. Even though Daryl had quitted, her loyal fans still loved her. Nowadays, many brokerage companies bought fake followers for their artists.

"I'm going to review my lines,"

Billie said excitedly. "Daryl, you're finally back. I know that you can reach the peak and create a breakthrough in the entertainment industry once again!" Their conversation was interrupted when Billie's agent began to call her. "I will never forget this day. I'm so happy to see you in person."

Billie beamed at her widely before she ran back to her agent.

For a moment, Daryl stared at the girl's retreating figure, lost in thought.

Sofia sat beside her soon after and patted her shoulder. "Look at how your fans love you. It was so silly of you to choose that scum over them." I know, Sofia. Daryl took a deep breath before a genuine smile broke out on her lips. "I will work hard. I don't want to let my fans down anymore."

"That's the spirit!"

Sofia was just glad to see that bright look on her face again.

Working with Daryl was risky. After all, if Daryl's acting skills were as good as before, she would surely met with abuse and laughter from the audience. Daryl's reputation would decline, and both their careers would be over.

As if lightning struck her, she realized something. Sofia remembered that Daryl was supported by Zack.

Behind Daryl was a man who could control the D City in the palm of his hand.

She didn't need to worry at all. At her realization, Sofia decided to rearrange Daryl's acting career.

Even if Daryl's acting skills slipped back, she was still the most beautiful woman in the entertainment industry.

Daryl wasn't aware that her agent had tried her best to fix everything for her while she was thinking of her fans. The children's scenes were finished in the morning.

Billie left without bidding her goodbye to her idol as she had another shoot to attend to.

When lunch came, she ate the food that the crew provided. Since she had not seen Lucy yet, she supposed that Lucy ate alone.

It was already time for the afternoon shoot. It began with Kayleigh. She was forty years old but she looked young.

She was a gentle and generous person, an embodiment of the queen during ancient times. They filmed the part that she would marry the emperor and they nailed that scene in no time.

After that, Daryl's part came. She was supposed to bring some tea for the newly wedded couple, but she bumped into a very angry emperor. Because of that, she had to face punishment. Even though Daryl was dressed as a maid, her appearance was too outstanding. That was the only problem that Vivian had to resolve.

In the end, the stylist had no choice but to simplify all the maids' make-up to the extreme.

Satisfied with Daryl's new appearance, Vivian decided to proceed with the filming.

Everything was going smoothly. The emperor was about to throw the cup of warm tea at Daryl when Lucy's agent, Sadie, appeared out of nowhere.

"Director Gu, the tea isn't hot enough. Without the steam, how could the audience know it's a cup of hot tea?"
