Chapter 3452 The Truth Revealed
Casimir beckoned with his hand, taunting Mack, who lunged forward, their figures clashing in an instant.
Matthew watched Casimir's movements carefully. Even though the exchange was quick, he could tell that Casimir's skills were well-practiced-honed and never neglected. Once again, Casimir effortlessly evaded Mack's heavy strike, sending him flying backward with a kick that skidded him several yards across the ground before coming to a halt. "Chief!" The men rushed over to Mack, concern written all over their faces.novelbin
Matthew frowned slightly in response. This behavior had crossed the line. Casimir could use a reminder of his place.
As the men crowded around Mack with worry, Matthew quietly stepped out from behind them, positioning himself directly in front of Casimir.
Casimir's eyes flashed with a glimmer of caution as soon as he saw Matthew approach.
Matthew's gaze narrowed as he fixed his eyes on Casimir. In that instant, Casimir's body stiffened, paralyzed with fear.
He could feel it-death. A primal terror gripped him as if he were being stalked by a ferocious beast. He couldn't move a muscle.
Matthew watched Casimir standing a few paces away, drenched in sweat as if he had just dragged himself from the depths of the sea. It was puzzling-he hadn't even released any killing intent; he'd merely looked at Casimir. Alas, even without any direct intimidation, Matthew's presence, honed over time, was more than Casimir could bear.
Turning his attention away, Matthew glanced at Mack, who looked a bit worse for wear but was largely unharmed. Mack's legs were a bit shaky from Casimir's kick, but he hadn't sustained any serious injuries.
Finally relieved of Matthew's
piercing stare, Casimir exhaled
deeply, nearly losing his balance. He
reached up, feeling the
sweat-soaked shirt clinging to his skin, his earlier caution replaced by pure fear as he looked at Matthew, whose strength was overwhelming. With just a look, he had paralyzed him. If Matthew had wanted to kill him at that moment, Casimir knew he'd have had no chance to resist.
He now realized how foolish his past caution had been. He was entirely outclassed!
Casimir's eyes darkened as he composed himself. He had done what he came to do, and the rest was out of his hands.
"Mr. Emissary, as you can see, I'm no match for him," Casimir admitted, glancing over his shoulder at the cloaked figure standing behind him-the Medusa Emissary.
"Huh, I suppose it's time for me to step in." the emissary responded with a dry chuckle, his voice harsh as raspy, as he slowly stepped out from behind Casimir.
The Medusa Emissary's peculiar appearance drew the attention of the Veiled Assembly's men. Up until now, they'd assumed he was just another henchman keeping his face hidden. But now, as he emerged, they were visibly taken aback.
Matthew's gaze shifted to the cloaked figure, his steady, expressionless gaze meeting the emissary's eerie, green-tinged eyes. Neither spoke a word, but the tension between them thickened, heavy enough to silence even the bravest of the Veiled Assembly's men. They all held their breath,
watching the scene unfold, waiting.
At last, after what felt like an eternity, the Medusa Emissary's sharp voice broke the silence, echoing from beneath his mask. "Young man, I'll admit, you're stronger than I expected."
