I’m pregnant!
Brandon hurled a broken wine glass on the ground and growled, “What did you say?” aggressively. He then got out of his swivel chair and made his way over to the man, who was on his knees. He took loud, hefty steps.
“I’m very sorry, sir!” The man apologized while begging for his life.
“Didn’t I tell you to watch over her?” Brandon shouted angrily. The veins on his neck were throbbing and seemed to explode with anger. “Why did you let her escape? Useless!”
The man could not look directly at Brandon’s face. He was shaking in fear that he might kill him. He wasn’t worried about himself because he worked for him, but he was worried about what could happen to his family, especially if Brandon took their lives.
“I shouldn’t have relied on you. Leave! If you don’t want to die!” Brandon couldn’t prevent his anger from making him punch the wall, but he acted like he didn’t feel pain after all.
The man hurriedly ran outside in fear that he would get a punch from his mad boss. Brandon took some steps near the window and lit a cigarette, still trying to cool down.
His anger inflamed as his phone vibrated like a fish wanting to dive from the table. He wasn’t in a mood to pick it up, but he thought it could be important, so he answered the call.
“Yes, Lando. I wish you had good news for me,” Brandon said.
“I’m sorry, sir. But I think it’s not easy to do what you’ve asked for. However, I’m doing my best right now,” he replied.
“That’s all?” Brandon’s voice grew louder. “You called just to say such a useless thing? Why won’t you just rebel against me as everyone else did? So that I won’t expect anything from you?”
“Sir, I promised to finish what my master started, so please give me more time; I won’t disappoint you,” Lando said.
Brandon didn’t reply, as he has been used to promises that are meant to be broken. He no longer knows who to believe since everyone is unbelievable from the start, and what he hates the most is being betrayed by someone he trusted.
“Lisa!” Brandon called out to his maid. “Lisa! Where are you?”
A woman in her twenties wearing black and white clothes ran towards Brandon and asked, “What is it, sir?” Her voice didn’t sound consistent as her heartbeats grew faster at the thought that perhaps her boss would hurt her again.
“See those broken glasses?” Brandon asked.
“Yes, sir? What shall I do with them?” Lisa replied in a shaking voice, thinking that her boss wanted her to do something she couldn’t.
“Are you dumb? Eat them!” Brandon suddenly shouted as he slapped her hard on the spine.
Lisa didn’t react, though she felt pain as she slightly lost her balance and slid, but her tears slowly formed inside her eyes. She asked herself when she could escape this situation; she has been working for him, and she’s exhausted now.
“Lord! Just take me!” Her thoughts were screaming for help, but it seemed that no one was listening. “Where are you, Lord?”
“Clean them!” Brandon’s voice grew louder with stress.
Lisa slowly walked towards the broken glasses. She lowered her knees and picked them up using her bare hands, while Brandon pressed his head against what he saw. He doesn’t know what to do with these people, whom he called dumb.
“Are you so dumb to pick up those glasses without using any gloves?” Brandon sighed deeply. “You really love getting hurt!”
Lisa was shaking after hearing Brandon’s mad voice. She considered him a demon who causes torment to the people around him as he treats them like mere animals. From NôvelDrama.Org.
“What’s with that face?” Brandon raised an eyebrow after seeing Lisa looking at him.
“You also want to resign? Okay, go! I don’t need dumb people in my mansion.”
Brandon sat on his chair and lit another stick of cigarettes while Lisa went out to get her gloves. Then he began planning again how to take that land, which belongs to Rebecca’s parents.
On the other hand, Rebecca and Kwan are talking about their wedding while having a good time on the couch inside the living room of the Black Mansion.
“Where did your friend go?” Rebecca asked. She stared at her future husband, who was lying on the couch.
“She’s probably out again. That single bunny girl always had a party with her friends whenever she felt bored staying here,” Kwan replied as he stood up and walked towards her.
“We should enjoy this time that no one is here.” Kwan sat down on the floor beside Rebecca. “Nobody can disturb us now,” He whispered in her left ear.
“And what are you planning to do, huh?” Rebecca asked as she held Kwan’s hand around her stomach. “I have something to tell you, Kwan. You shouldn’t be surprised after hearing this.”
“What’s that, my love?” Kwan asked.
Rebecca turned and faced him. She gave him a tiny thing and looked directly into his brown eyes before saying, “I’m pregnant, Kwan. You’re finally a father.”
“What!?” Kwan suddenly stood up as a bright smile developed on his face. He wanted to jump, to sing, to dance, and to scream, but all he could do was embrace Rebecca as tight as he could.
“Calm down, my love. Our baby’s getting suffocated,” Rebecca said. “I should tell my parents about this. They are finally grandparents now, but I’m worried about what they would say.”
“Don’t worry, my love. We will tell them after our wedding, but for now, I want to savor this moment with you. I’m finally a father. I can’t wait for my son to come out!” Kwan said as he felt like he was at the top of the world.
“What if it’s a girl?” Rebecca asked. “We can’t predict what our child’s gender will be, my love.”
“I’ll accept our child whether it’s a girl or a boy, as long as it’s normal. But I can’t wait to see a boy who will inherit my handsomeness,” Kwan smirked.
“You’re really funny,” Rebecca laughed.
“Why? Am I not handsome?” Kwan asked as he carried Rebecca and turned around several times. “I thought that was the reason you fell in love at first sight with me.”
“Don’t you dare drop me!” Rebecca complained.
Seeing their happy faces, Lando felt irritated as he clenched his fist at the door of the living room. He’s been watching them; they were so happy that they didn’t even notice him.
