Chapter 211: The Wedding
The wound on Allyce’s back was still healing, the body cells were growing and the wound was becoming uncomfortable, a slight pain accompanied by an itch.
When he was discharged from hospital, the doctor had expressly told him not to scratch, no matter how itchy he was.
In the middle of the night, as he slept, he felt an itch on his back and reached out to scratch it.
She had only squirmed a little when Severo leaned behind her, catching her hand and wrapping it in his to prevent her from moving.
His voice was clouded by the haze of waking up in the middle of the night: “An itchy wound?
“Well, you scratch for me, …,” Allyce squinted, her mind still not quite clear, and grabbed Severo’s hand again.
Her sleepless voice was very soft, and Severo’s mind moved to gently approach her, all awake, and whisper softly in her ear, “You can’t scratch, you won’t feel the itch if you go to sleep, go to sleep.”
“Oh …”
Allyce responded desultorily, mumbled some more and then actually fell asleep.
Severo, on the other hand, clung to his hand and did not dare to sleep all night.
…
The next day, Allyce woke up first.
Finding himself in Severo’s arms, he turned his head and glanced at Severo, noticing that he was somewhat asleep.
After a night’s sleep, his hair had been tousled, his eyes were tightly closed and his lips, which tightened when he moved in anger, had relaxed and opened slightly, making his whole body seem much gentler, a hundred thousand miles away from his usual coldness.
If only he looked like this when he woke up from his dream ….
Allyce reached up and nudged him on the lips before pulling back as if afraid of getting burned.
Removing Severo’s arm that was still on her, she moved cautiously to get out of bed.
In the bathroom, she stood with her back to the mirror and looked carefully at the wound on her back, which was almost healed, but the fine cuts and stitches in the shape of a fish thread were still visible.
Thank goodness it wasn’t very long.
Outside the bathroom.
As soon as Allyce entered the bathroom, Severo opened his eyes and rolled over to sit down.
Reaching up and touching his lips, he looked at his little brother and raised an eyebrow, “Don’t be so useless.”
…
Today was Senona and Enzo’s wedding.
Allyce was reluctant to go, but she had to go.
Many of the Delahoz staff were supposed to be there too, and she had demonstrated her sisterhood with Senona at work before, so she couldn’t miss their wedding.
He washed up and came out of the bathroom when he smelled smoke in the room.
It was not very strong, but its smell was unpleasant.
His eyes fell instantly on Severo, who was half leaning on the bed smoking. “What’s all this smoking first thing in the morning!
She frowned slightly, her tone not very pleasant.
Severo stubbed out the cigarette in his hand as she left.
He did not answer her question directly, but got up and opened the window before looking back at her: “You go out first and come back in when the smell of smoke has dissipated”.
“It’s OK.
Allyce responded indifferently and turned to go to the cloakroom.
When he came out, the smell of smoke had dissipated from the room and Severo was answering the phone on the sofa, in his dressing gown, his hair half wet, obviously from a shower.
When he saw her leave, he said something on the other end of the phone and hung up.
His gaze swept over her, seeing her in her deliberately dressed form, and he asked aloud: “Are you going to Senona’s wedding?
She hadn’t forgotten that Severo thought she was still in love with Enzo, and Allyce wasn’t sure what she meant by that question, so she answered with a single word: “Yes”.
Severo raised an eyebrow when he heard that: “Oh? Without me?
Allyce froze: “What?”.
At Allyce’s somewhat dumbfounded look, Severo let out a “wait for me” and went into the cloakroom.
But he soon came out, wearing a khaki coat.
Persimmon …
Allyce had known Severo for almost half a year and, apart from the two white shirts he had picked out the first time we went clothes shopping, she had never seen him wear anything but black.
This coat was the wrong colour from the last delivery and Allyce thought it would look good on Severo, so she kept it.
However, Severo never wore it.
Today, she had no idea what she was thinking and put on this dress.
Severo looked at the coat of the same colour Allyce was wearing and a satisfied expression came over his face: “Let’s go”.
…
In the end, Allyce went to the wedding venue with Severo.
Unlike yesterday, when Elvira opened her trial, the Delahoz family was already there when she and Severo arrived today.
As soon as Allyce and Severo appeared, the faces of the Delahoz family changed.
But Allyce no longer cared.
As the Aybar family is a very important family in Cloud Cit, all the people who are prominent in Cloud Cit, or who have some status or money, are here.
There was no need for Allyce to fight with the Delahoz family in front of so many people.
He greeted them all politely and then addressed Jonas Aybar: “Uncle Aybar, congratulations.
The “congratulations” were genuine.
Jonas laughed and replied: “Haha, you grew up with Enzo and now Enzo and Senona are married, so you have to work on that too.

Allyce said, turning her head to look at Severo beside her.
Severo saw this and nodded slightly towards Jonas Aybar, “Monsieur Aybar”.
“Mr. Betances?” said Jonah, a flash of surprise crossed his face at the sight of Severo, “You and Allyce are ….”
“She’s my wife, we’re married.” Severo lowered his eyes, his voice calm and unperturbed, simply declaring.
Jonas nodded at that and turned his head to look at Allyce, seemingly helpless, “You girl, how can you even hide something this big from me …”
Severo cut off Jonas Aybar’s words at just the right moment: “It’s only a marriage licence, there is no wedding yet, we will do it after the year”.
Allyce’s eyes widened at that and she turned her head to look at Severo.
When had he promised her a wedding after the year?
It wasn’t until they sat down that Allyce turned her head and nibbled on his ear: “When did I promise to have a wedding with you?
Severo turned his head to look at her: “Aren’t you going to have a wedding with me?
Allyce’s lips suddenly curved into a smile, her heart gladdened, “Why would I want to marry someone who doesn’t love me?”
Severo’s face changed suddenly and, after a moment, he seemed to sigh and finally said nothing.
Allyce rubbed her palms together, the hope in her eyes feathering utopianly.
And the wedding of Senona and Enzo had begun.
Allyce squeezed her hand, hiding her disappointment.
Unfortunately, he met Enzo’s gaze.
Allyce was about to look away when she heard a female voice from the back of the auditorium: “Wait!
