Chapter 210: The outcome of the trial
As she walked across the courtyard, Allyce was still holding her breath.
It had been many years since the three Cloud Cit families had been in a position of power.
And while the Nuncio family had declined in a short time, unbeknownst to all, Casimiro, the old fox, must have been quick to think of the LK president.
Because in all of Cloud Cit, there was no one more empowered to do so than the president of LK.
So there was a reason why Casimir had approached her so quickly.
Allyce felt that he was getting worse and worse, and in fact he was using Severo to threaten people, which was a bit vain.
She laughed to herself and walked out with her head down.
“Tic…”
A car honked and Allyce looked up to see the familiar black Bentley parked across the street.
It was Severo’s car.
The next moment, Severo had opened the car door and got out.
Allyce paused, but turned to him: “Why haven’t you gone?
“Waiting for you to come back with me.” Severo spoke as he gestured for her to get in the passenger door.
Once in the car, Allyce hesitated, but relayed what Casimiro had told him, including that he had used him.
Allyce stared straight ahead: “I’m sorry I used you.
“There’s no need to apologise, I answered that question, a long time ago. Severo looked straight ahead intently, with no emotion in his voice.
–I didn’t really want to marry you, I was just using you!
–It has been an honour to be used by you, too.
Those were the words he had spoken long ago, the day he moved into his small flat.
The scene was still fresh in my mind.
Allyce couldn’t help but look up at last.
Severo’s eyes were focused on the road, and he drove as steadily as he did.
Allyce looked back with some haste, her mind reeling.
I wanted to ask her directly what she wanted from her.
But he did not have the courage.
It was as if, after knowing that he didn’t love her, he didn’t dare say anything else to her.
It was not that he did not want to say anything, but that he did not dare to.
After all, no matter the answer, she couldn’t lie to her heart, she knew she had feelings for him.
The car went silent again.
…
The following days passed without incident.
Allyce didn’t ask to sleep in a separate room, and I don’t know if Severo didn’t touch her even when she was in the same bed because she wasn’t fully cured, or for some other reason.
He took good care of her and was very attentive.
But their conversations became less and less frequent each day.
Until, the day before Senona and Enzo’s wedding, Linda’s case went to court.
…
Severo got up early, changed his clothes and went out, asking Allyce: “Linda’s case is in court today, do you want to go?
Allyce froze, thinking about the diary, then nodded.
Never mind that, having known each other for a while.
Linda’s actions, however selfish, had left her with a bad reputation at the tender age of eighteen, when the Delahoz family had driven her out of the country.
She was desperate, but at least Lucila believed in her.
Now the story is back on the table, but at least Severo believes in it.
It was enough that the people she cared about trusted her, and the words of those who had nothing to do with her were not enough to slander her.

When she and Severo arrived at the courthouse, not a single member of the Delahoz family was present.
Allyce was surprised and usually turned her head towards Severo when she didn’t understand something.
Severo put an arm around her, carefully protecting her.
After receiving her gaze, he spoke in a soft voice: “Since the Delahoz family cannot be disturbed by this because it was revealed in the media beforehand, it is natural that no one from the Delahoz family is here”.
Allyce nodded at that.
That’s right.
Even so, Senona came.
Only moments before the hearing, Senona arrived.
Her face was white, she wore a black coat and looked haggard, not at all like someone getting married tomorrow.
As if sensing Allyce’s gaze, Senona looked up at her.
His gaze rested on Allyce for a couple of seconds before shifting to Severo, his eyes shifting for a split second before he settled back in his seat and stopped looking at her.
As the Delahoz family did not interfere, the outcome of the trial was not in doubt: fifteen years in prison.
Fifteen years later, Elvira would be an old woman in her sixties and Eric would probably no longer love her.
“I don’t want to go to jail, where is Eric? I want to see Eric.
Elvira’s whole body became confused the moment the verdict was delivered, and then she screamed.
It was something like that, even though it hadn’t happened to her, even though it had nothing to do with her, but the trigger was her.
Although all those who have repented of their mistakes have had the opportunity to be forgiven, what goes around comes around.
That was true of Linda, and it was true of Elvira.
What about her? And why is she …
…
When she left the room, Allyce was depressed.
Severo gave her a sidelong glance and squeezed her hand: “It’s none of your business.
Allyce shook her head: “I don’t blame myself.
Severo frowned slightly and stopped talking.
Lately the two had been very respectful of each other.
There were no extra words, no arguments, and for the most part, Allyce just went along with what he said.
This kind of Allyce made him feel better, but he knew in his heart that this was not the Allyce he liked.
I had a vague idea of what the problem was, but …
“Come back, I’m a bit tired.” said Allyce, and quickened his pace.
…
The press was quick to report on the opening of Linda’s case.
Naturally, Senona was included in the report.
The mother was convicted on the first day and the daughter was newly married the next.
These two events were enough to keep people talking for a long time.
Allyce knew that the Delahoz family’s shareholding might be affected by this, but it would not have any major repercussions and would be forgotten once the publicity had passed.
Allyce read several media reports in a row and waited for Severo to return to her room to urge her to put the phone down and get ready for bed.
“It’s getting late, get some sleep”.
Severo hadn’t been to the office lately, only working at home. When he came in after finishing today’s paperwork and saw that Allyce was still awake, he frowned wistfully.
So, as soon as her words fell, Allyce hung up her phone and went to bed.
Lately he has been very obedient.
He wondered if the woman who used to lie and piss him off was Allyce.
The transformation looked good, but he knew deep down that if he let it go on like this, it would only get worse.
But Severo, an elite businessman, cannot find the solution.
