Chapter 192: The Thief
The whole room fell silent when Severo suddenly spoke.
Someone took the floor and asked him: “Mr. Betances, what do you mean by hitting who?NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Could it be the woman from before?
The eyes of the crowd involuntarily turned to the fat man.
The fat man was not impressed: “Mr. Betances, what do you mean by that?
It couldn’t be that he was trying to defend the woman, could it?
I don’t think so, if that woman had really had anything to do with Severo, would Severo have let him abuse her?
“Which hand did you hit yourself with?” repeated Severo as he left the glass in his hand and leaned his whole body backwards.
“Mr. Betances, what do you mean by that? That woman just went to …”. The fat man fell to the ground before he could finish his words.
Severo straightened his clothes with an expressionless face, walked up to him and stomped on his right hand: “Since you won’t say which hand you hit him with, I’ll have to resort to my right hand.
“What are you going to do! I have a partnership with Blue Sky Investment! Don’t you want to cooperate? Aren’t you afraid that your boss will go after him at …?”
The fat man trembled with fear before Severo’s sombre face.
I didn’t have much contact with Severo, but I knew that he was the top pillar of Blue Sky Investment and that he was very capable, but I didn’t expect Severo to have such a strong aura about him.
Severo interrupted him coldly: “Too much talk”.
Then the foot that was on his hand came up and stepped hard on his wrist.
The high quality, handmade Italian leather soles were very hard, and when the foot stepped on them, there was only a “click” of bones breaking.
“My hand …, I won’t let you go!” The fat man rolled on the ground and wailed.
Severo turned his head and looked around the room at the other people who were already a little dazed by the commotion and spoke calmly: “You can go now, no one can call 911 for him, or I have many ways to make you regret it”.
In fact, the men looked at each other with fear in their eyes.
Severo was younger than them and his status was no more than that of a vice-president of a small company, but he made all these old oils that had been in the mall feel dangerous.
So, in a tacit agreement, the men left one after the other.
Only after everyone had left did Severo turn around, grab his coat and exit in style, having the room locked to prevent the fat man from leaving.
If the fracture was lost, it was not certain that it could be reattached later.
Severo intended to destroy the fat man’s hand.
He took his coat and returned to the office.
As soon as he entered, he saw Xabat looking for something.
He heard the door open and looked back to see Severo, with surprise on his face: “Boss, you …” finally ready to come out!
I knew it was the right thing to do, to go to Miss Delahoz.
Severus looked at him: “Find out the identity of the man who came to the Jade Palace today with Allyce.
Xabat couldn’t take back his surprise: “A man?
Did Ms. Delahoz really come to dinner with a man today? And did the boss know about it?
Xabat had a feeling that something bad might have happened again.
“Go check it out.” Severo ignored Xabat’s rhetorical question and gave him a cold stare, tossing his jacket aside casually and sitting behind his desk, closing his eyes and not moving again.
His eyebrows drew together slightly, his face a little tired.
Xabat wanted to dissuade him, but he knew that, even if he talked about it, Severo would not listen.
Only when Xabat had left did Severo slowly open his eyes, with a glint of confusion in his dark eyes, but that soon disappeared again.
Naturally, he couldn’t help but be pleased to see Allyce appear at the door.
He thought she had come to see him.
But, according to her, she simply had the wrong room.
Just in the wrong room, without looking for it. …
…
Allyce arrived back at the flat half soaked.
He took a quick shower and lay down on the bed.
He picked up his phone and surfed the net aimlessly before turning off the light.
He lay down on the bed but did not feel like sleeping.
Even when he closed his eyes, his mind was filled with the image of Severo sitting quietly in his room, impassive.
He turned around and wrapped himself in the blanket.
After a long while, when she had finally fallen asleep, she heard the door open in a daze.
Was it Severo?
Allyce thought dazedly and suddenly came to her senses.
He opened his eyes in the darkness and took a moment to adjust to it.
He listened for movement in the room, but could hear nothing.
Surely that was his illusion, wasn’t it? No one had come to the door, least of all Severo.
Allyce closed her eyes again, ready to prepare for sleep again, when she felt the sound of soft footsteps in the room.
It was of a very, very soft kind, and if I hadn’t been holding my breath to hear it, it would have been impossible to hear.
Wait, was anyone in the room?
Allyce was about to get up and turn on the bedside lamp when she felt the person approaching the bedside.
She stiffened, afraid to move.
If anyone came in at this hour, it couldn’t be anyone other than Severo.
But …
I could sense that there was no scent of Severo in the room.
Although the smell was so unpredictable, he could sense that the person who entered was not Severo.
If it wasn’t Severo, who could it be?
As soon as the thought came to her mind, Allyce felt a shiver run down her spine and her whole body became slightly confused.
She lay rigid in bed, not daring to move a muscle.
The man stood in front of the bed for a moment before stopping and, after an unknown amount of time, a small fragmented noise sounded at the head of the bed.
Allyce remembered that she had left her bag at the foot of the bed.
Was he a thief?
Allyce held her breath as cold sweat broke out on her forehead and her heart almost leapt into her throat.
He didn’t know how much time had passed, but it seemed to him that he heard the door close.
But I was not sure.
She lay in bed without moving until her whole body stiffened, then she got out of bed, quickly turned on the light, put on her clothes and got out of bed.
He opened the wallet he kept at the foot of the bed and found that all the money in it was gone, and fortunately only a few thousand.
She searched the room carefully and was relieved to see that no one was there.
He went to the kitchen, picked up a kitchen knife and sat down on the sofa, not daring to sleep.
It wasn’t until he was too sleepy that he heard another soft sound at the door.
Allyce woke up with a jolt, clenched the chop in her hand a few times and stared at the door without moving.
