Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 1099

Xyla couldn't let Chandra know the truth, or her mother would become even more agitated. It would make the situation with Sydney even more unsalvageable.

Chandra shut her eyes slowly.

Upon seeing Chandra waver, Xyla seized the chance and said, "Mom, I'll buy flight tickets right away. We'll go immediately. We can go anywhere you want, and we'll only come back when the dust settles. I'll make sure Chris handles the entire thing well and that nothing happens to you. I promise!

"Mom, I'm begging you. Do this for me. Think about it even if this blows up, you've abducted someone. We just need to pull a few strings, and nothing major will happen to you. But if Sydney dies, that will make you a murderer!"

"Alright, that's quite enough. Don't you think I'd know all these?"

"Mom, I know you do, but I was worried you wouldn't see it clearly. Mom, I'm begging you, please."

Chandra remained silent for a long time before finally picking up her phone.

The pitch-black sky felt suffocating.

The metal gate squeaked as someone opened it. Hurried footsteps approached her. Then, the lights came on.

Sydney lay on the cold, hard floor, her body trembling. She was in so much pain, it felt like her body had been torn to pieces.

A familiar voice rang in her ear.

"Syd."

Sydney slowly opened her red, swollen eyes and saw a shadow approaching her.

"Syd."

Christopher rushed over and gathered Sydney in his arms. The wounds covering her body and her torn-up clothes almost made him cry tears of blood.

Sydney lay half-dead and weak in his arms. She looked like she was on the verge of death, her breathing so weak that Christopher could hardly hear

it.

He gritted his teeth, fire burning in his eyes.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

He turned around and instructed his subordinate, "Leave no one here alive. Make every single person watching this place suffer a terrible death." "Yes, sir."

His bodyguard headed out with a gun in hand. The next moment, men's cries filled the air.

Christopher took off his jacket with trembling hands and carefully draped it over Sydney before hauling her up in his arms.

"Syd, I'll take you far away from this place. I'll never let you get hurt again."

He walked out of the warehouse with Sydney in his arms. After he got into the car, Sydney remained lying in his arms.

Christopher didn't dare to hug her too tightly for fear of aggravating the wounds all over her body.

The doctor sitting next to him injected some painkillers into her body and started treating her wounds. She was badly tormented, and her body was black and blue all over.

Christopher's eyes were bloodshot. "How is she? Will she recover?"

The doctor said, "She needs a lot of rest. With daily treatment and care, she'll recover in time. She probably needs psychological intervention, however."

Even grown men wouldn't be able to take what Sydney went through.

"Syd..." Christopher gently kissed her sweat-beaded forehead. He didn't care about the filth covering her face. He was filled with guilt and pain. "I'm sorry, Syd. I'm so sorry."

His mother had brought harm upon Sydney.

As her son, Christopher felt utterly guilty, as if he were the one who hurt Sydney with his own hands.

Sydney was drifting in and out of consciousness, opening her mouth and trying to say something as she heard Christopher's voice. However, she ended up not saying a word and blacked out.

Christopher instructed the bodyguard seated in the front

passenger seat, "Inform the Spencers that she has been

rescued. Tell them not to worry and that visit them and have her contact them soon."
