Lara, her heart pounding, watched as the silhouette of Alpha Kilian faded into the darkness. A bone-chilling breeze sent shivers down her spine.
“Alpha Kilian, stop!” Lara’s voice erupted suddenly, filled with fiery rage and indignation.
“What does she have that I don’t? Why do you treat me this way?” Lara’s voice cracked as tears streamed down her face. “I love you more than she ever could. She doesn’t care about you, let alone love you!”
Alpha Kilian halted in his tracks, turning to face Lara. “Whether she loves me or not is irrelevant. What matters is that I love her. And don’t you dare compare yourself to her. You sully her good name by doing so.”
Before Lara could respond, Alpha Kilian stormed out of the room, leaving her stunned. Her voice echoed through the halls, filled with anguish. “You will regret this! I swear you will!”
Fabian, waiting by the door, approached Alpha Kilian as he emerged from the room. “Alpha Morris.”
“Let’s go,” Alpha Kilian commanded, his voice cold and resolute.
Fabian nodded, falling in step behind him.
As they took a few steps, they crossed paths with Caroline, who was returning. Caroline looked at them in surprise. “Alpha Morris, are you leaving already?”Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Ignoring her, Alpha Kilian walked past Caroline without a word, leaving her bewildered.
Following his Alpha’s example, Fabian snubbed Caroline, striding past her with an air of superiority.
Caroline frowned, a sense of foreboding growing within her. She returned to the room with a heavy heart.
Inside, Lara pressed a dagger against her wrist.
Caroline’s scream pierced the air as she rushed towards Lara, wrestling the dagger from her grasp.
“What are you doing?” Caroline shouted, tossing the dagger aside.
Lara closed her eyes, her face contorted in pain, as tears stained her cheeks.
“What did Alpha Kilian say to you?” Caroline asked anxiously, but her question was met with silence.
“He came to visit because he misses you… I’ll talk to him right now!” Caroline turned to leave.
“Don’t go!” Lara stopped her, her voice sudden and sharp. Caroline was taken aback; she had never heard her daughter speak to her like this before.
Though concerned for Lara’s mental state, Caroline chose to remain calm. “Fine, I won’t say anything more. Just rest.”
Lara lay back down without a word, covering herself with the blanket. Tears continued to fall as she closed her eyes.
Outside, Fabian asked Alpha Kilian, “Alpha Morris, do you think Ms. Gareth will turn herself in?”
“It’s no longer her choice,” Alpha Kilian replied without hesitation.
“What if… she flees?” Fabian pondered aloud.
Alpha Kilian fixed him with a cold glare. “If that happens, you will be held responsible.”
Fabian froze, his hand on the car door. “Alpha Morris, I…”
“What does it have to do with me?” Alpha Kilian interrupted, paying no attention to Fabian.
Without another word, Alpha Kilian entered the car.
After a moment of hesitation, Fabian closed the door and walked around to the driver’s seat. He looked at Alpha Kilian with a sheepish smile. “Alpha Morris, I’m sure you have prepared for the possibility that Ms. Gareth won’t turn herself in.”
Alpha Kilian remained silent, his gaze fixed on his phone.
“Alpha Morris, do you truly want to send her to prison?” Fabian asked, concern evident in his voice. “Do you think I’ve gone too far?”
Shaking his head, Fabian quickly replied, “No, she deserves to be punished for what she has done. I’m just worried that if this goes public, it will cause another controversy. With Ms. Gareth publicly declaring herself as your fiancee, people will spread unfounded rumors, affecting the company’s reputation.”
Alpha Kilian glanced at him, a smirk playing on his lips. “And?”
“I… I’m just concerned-” Fabian began, but Alpha Kilian interrupted.
“It’s good that you’re concerned. Make sure you’re prepared for the fallout, so you’re not caught off guard,” Alpha Kilian asserted.
Fabian was left speechless.
It seems he isn’t concerned at all. He has always gone to great lengths to save a damsel in distress, even if it costs him money. Losing some money won’t bother him in the slightest.
With that realization, Fabian berated himself for speaking unnecessarily.
Glancing at Alpha Kilian through the rearview mirror, Fabian started the car engine resignedly. “Alpha Morris, where are we going?”
Alpha Kilian checked the time before responding, “Prosper Technologies.”
