A Girl’s Diary

Chapter 11 - I Dare You.

Chapter 11 - I Dare You.

What the fudging nuggets? That was the very first thought that came in my mind when I set foot in the

pool area. Too much people were there, that was definitely not just what Ian told me. This was exactly

what I told them not to do.

My next thought was I'll call you when the party is over.

I began turning around when I heard a voice I despised, calling me. What was he doing here? Ian! You

are going to pay.

"Hey, nice party," Louis said. Ugh!

"Get out of my house, Louis."

"Ouch! You're hurting my feelings. But your brother invited me." I knew it. "It would be rude to just

leave." No, it wouldn't, just leave.

"Then go annoy him, not me." I groaned, trying to walk away from him but he wouldn't budge. Stop

following me, you stalker!

"I know you don't like me-"

"-More like hate."

"Yes. But we could still be friends." I sighed. "And maybe you'll see how charming I am." I rolled my

eyes.

"Louis! Hey man, glad you could make it." Ian gave him that guy hug-bump thing, while I gave my dear

brother what I imagined to be the most fearsome death glare and left looking for Skyler.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Loca kissing some tall guy. Was that her boyfriend? I thought she

wasn't dating. I looked away, no need for me to see my sister kissing a guy! I was still searching for

Sky, but it was almost impossible with all these people swirling around. I decided to settle down and

have a drink, a non-alcoholic one because I liked to stay sober! I sat on my favourite spot, on the

marble wall lining the pool area. Everyone was in the centre away from me, I took a sip from my coke

scanning through everyone. At least queen bitch and her minions weren't here.

"Can I join you?" He jumped and sat next to me.

"Now what?"

"Can we start over?"

"No, you can't delete the past and you shouldn't treat a person differently based on who their family is."

We sat in silence. A non-awkward silence for too long. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

"You're right!" Louis said and left, just like that. People started leaving too because Ian, true to his word,

said he'd handle it. He said that our neighbour called the police and now we had to cut the party short.

Even though, the house next to ours was empty. There, used to live my childhood best friend whom I

was still friends with, Thomas. I send him emails like a lot but we didn't talk since forever. It had been

years since both his family and mine started moving frequently because of... no, I wouldn't think about

it.

"Now, the house is all yours," Ian said, I smiled. We had this agreement with our parents that if they

weren't at home, we wouldn't leave. That was why Loca and Ian didn't try to leave with any of their

friends. They could be good kids sometimes. I jumped down and found Sky by the pool along with

Jason, Cici, Loca and two of Loca's friends who I think are Olivia and Courtney, they were both

cheerleaders.

"Eliii! We were going to play truth or dare. Come join us." Skyler said, her voice a tone higher. They

were all sitting in a circle soon Ian and I joined them.

"You're Olivia and Courtney, right?" I asked the two girls. They both nodded then giggled.

"Elena, start," Ian said. Hmm...

"Sky, truth or dare?"

"I have nothing to hide. Truth," She grinned.

"Do you have a crush on a guy from school?" I had my suspicions but I needed to be sure.

"Maybe!" She shrugged and took a sip from her drink.

"And that means?" Ian asked her.

"That means yes," Jason answered him. "You should have asked her who it was, Elena." We chuckled.

Colour began creeping into Sky's cheeks.

"Now my turn. Olivia?" Sky said swiftly.

"Truth."

"Who was your first kiss?"

"It was Adam but we didn't even date for a day before he blocked me out of his life." She sighed heavily

and downed her drink. If she was talking about the same Adam I knew, then she should have known he

was bad news. His whole appearance screamed playboy! From his tattoos to his piercings, to his

reputation, to the way he spoke, in addition to him never settling for just one girl. "Ian, truth or dare?"

"Dare. I'm feeling a bit adventurous tonight." He grinned.

"You have to kiss the prettiest girl here." Ian stood up and walked toward a very surprised Skyler

without hesitation. He put his hands on both her cheeks and pecked her lips the returned to his seat.

What was that?

Everyone stared at him, wide-eyed. Sky blinked as if waking up from her trance while Ian only winked.

Everyone was so silent until Jason burst into a fit of laughing.

"What the hell, Sky? Your look is priceless!" Soon enough, everyone followed except for Sky who kept

staring ahead of her.

"Jason?"

"I don't want to kiss anyone, so truth?"

"What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done?" Ian smirked as if he knew something.

"I..." Jason trailed. "Can I get a pass?"

"Maybe, I'll answer for you." Sky replied. Jason shook his head viciously. Sky giggled. "He had an

eyeliner phase in middle school."

"More like a full makeup phase." Ian snorted.

"Yes, yes so funny." He blushed. We continued playing, and pretty much stuck to keeping truths to a

minimum. After what happened to Jason, no one would try to be exposed like that... especially me!

"Sky, get out of my bed, I told you to sleep in any of the guest rooms," I said feeling exasperated but

rolled to the other side of bed anyway. She'd been so persistent to sleep in my room. The other girls,

however, each chose a guestroom.

"But what about the sleepover's spirit? We have to stay in the same room Eli, and you don't even have

another bed, and the ground is freezing. So please Eli, let me sleep here." Sky whined for the millionth

time today. I rolled to my side facing her with a smug look, she only pouted, making me chuckle. I let

out a soft breath and laid on my back, staring at the glow in the dark stars I put on the ceiling.

"Elena?" I didn't answer. Trying to close my eyes for a bit. "Eli?" Sky sat.

"Skyler, you seriously have to sleep. Where do you get all that energy?"

"The Sky's awake, so I'm awake, so we have to play." Leave it to Sky to always bring a Disney

reference to everything. I groaned.

"You know what? Let's go eat. It's almost time for breakfast anyway." I got out of bed, Sky following.

"But Eli, you shouldn't eat at night."

"Then why is there a light in the fridge smartie?" I asked, smugly.

"You know what? You're right! Let's eat at night!" So that was what we did. We tiptoed to the kitchen so

Jason who was currently sleeping on the couch wouldn't wake up. After technically eating all leftovers,

we headed back to my room to try and get some sleep, or at least that was what I was trying to do!

"Elena, are you sleeping?" Sky asked after less than five seconds.

"No, I'm training to die," I replied sarcastically, keeping my eyes closed.

"I like him, too much... and he can't even notice." Huh? Her voice was so heavy. Who made my friend

feel like this? There was a murder soon to be committed.

"Who?" I asked so I'd know who to curse exactly. Sky only sighed in return, both of us silent until we

drifted to sleep.

"Wake up wake up wake up." Sky screamed in my ears. I threw a pillow at her face in return but she

swatted it away.

"Ugh! Go away." I groaned sleepily. She got close again and whispered in my ear.

"Do you wanna build a snowman?" What. The. Fuck. She finally started to get away from me. Yay!

"Heh, do you play the guitar?" Nooo, she did not find my guitar! I sat to get a good look at what she

was doing. She did find my guitar. Shit! Now I had to replace it and use another one! Damn it!

"Sorta," I replied truthfully. Ron said I wasn't that good yet, but pretty good at the same time if that

made any sense. It didn't.

"Can you play it? Please? Pretty please?" I wasn't fully awake yet and my mind was still groggy with

lack of sleep, that was why I nodded. If I had been in my right kind, I would have never nodded.

"But I can't sing, so you'll have to do it, or there will be no singing at all," I said trying to cover my slip,

the moment I realized what shit got out of my mouth.

"Okay deal!" She screamed and ran outside.

I got up and took my guitar and played it for everyone for a bit until Ian made some pancakes. That was

his speciality. So freaking delicious.

"Why don't we go to the beach?" Sky asked during breakfast. Ian and Loca had plans with friends but

promised to return early. So we made plans without them.

As always Sky insisted on being the one in charge of our clothes. Why did I agree? Oh yes! Because

she was bloody annoying. She tried to put me in a bikini. To her bad luck, it was a bit cold. Sky put on

her bikini anyway but with a shirt on top of it. For me, I put on an oversized shirt and shorts. I would

have put on pants but that could be problematic with all that sand. When she saw me, she said I had to

change into something hot. The thing that Sky didn't really get was that I didn't want to be liked

because I'm hot!

All the way, Sky tried to be cheerful. Cici left this morning saying she had to go shopping with some of

her friends. While Jason said he wouldn't be third-wheeling two girls so he called a friend so he

wouldn't be the only guy.

When we got to the beach, Skyler kept telling me she knew I was having fun because who wouldn't

have fun at the beach. I kept glaring at her because she looked unsure and tried even harder to make

me think it would be a good day. It was fun seeing her suffer like that, well it was totally because she

didn't let me sleep. We kept chatting, running and splashing water over each other, waiting for Jason.

All of a sudden, Sky got overexcited and kept telling me to look where she was pointing. I looked and

saw nothing extraordinary. It was a normal day, people hanging around.

"Elena, how can you really not see them!"

Wait! Was that Ron!

Is that the part where I should run?!
