Chapter 287
Chapter 287
Nikola couldn't help chuckling at the girl's words. "Is that what I even mean, Babe? Or is it you who wants it?"
A hint of amusement flashed across Tori's eyes as she rolled them at him. "I was just warning you."
Meanwhile, Patricia kept her gaze on Nikola and Tori. She could tell the doctor liked his new girlfriend.
Isaac, on the other hand, riveted his gaze on his beloved. "What are you looking at?" he asked, then followed her line of sight to realize she was looking at Nikola and Tori. At that, he frowned. "You like the girl?"
It was only then that Patricia withdrew her gaze and looked into his enigmatic eyes. "She's young and bubbly, a lot like my past self." Her gaze changed as she spoke, seemingly reminiscing.
Before turning 18, she was still the eldest young lady of the Aniston Family, her grandfather's beloved granddaughter. Everyone treated her well, and because of so, she became a willful girl. But after that night, she endured all that she shouldn't have at that age.
Her role turned from a young girl into a mother overnight, and her life became a torment. No one would adore, let alone love, her anymore.
As she had to bear raising three children alone, she changed. She became less confident and no longer dared to go all in.
At that, she sighed under her breath. Sometimes, what was lost would be lost forever. Thus, she would be reminded of herself when she looked at Tori, young, naive, and fearless.
Suddenly, Isaac put her arms around his neck while he wrapped his around her waist, forcing her to be closer to him, making their dance intimate.
Patricia smiled as she caught his scent. He seemed to have helped her regain the lost adoration and protection she used to feel. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
Meanwhile, Isaac leaned his lips against her ear, brushing it with his warm breaths, tickling her. "You're much more beautiful and have more of a personality than Miss Leigh, Trish. You're you, and no one else can be like you."
To Isaac, no one was anywhere near Patricia. She was the most beautiful woman in the world and the most unique. Tori Leigh had nothing on her at all.
Patricia smiled at his words, and she looked up at the mask as well as the fathomless eyes behind it.
Despite wearing a mask, he was still handsome and brilliant, and her heart would race from just glancing at him.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Arnold."
However, Isaac disagreed, retorting with a quirked brow, "I'm telling the truth."
Patricia beamed again. Anyone would be happy to hear such sweet words, wouldn't they?!
Meanwhile, Adeline, who was standing by the dance floor, was beyond livid. She knew she shouldn't have worn a green evening dress but a fiery red one, and she hated this dress the more she looked at it.
At that, she headed out. After retrieving her coat and bag, she pulled out her phone and entered her family vehicle. The chauffeur had been waiting by the entrance this whole time as he feared her. All the household employees of the Aniston family did, as she had a hot temper, and if they weren't careful, she'd fire them at once. Thus, they'd be prudent in front of Adeline, not daring to complain, let alone speak up.
She made a call to her mother. "Mom, didn't you say you'll hire someone to kill Patricia? I want to see her dead by tomorrow."
She didn't want to wait for a second longer, genuinely wishing the woman would just die that night.
Gwen was watching soap operas in her bedroom when she got Adeline's call. After hearing her words, she turned the TV volume down and asked, "What happened, dear?"
"I told you I'm attending a birthday party with a friend, didn't I? Patricia's here too, and she came with Isaac. My friends are all laughing at me now, and they will never hang out with me ever again." Hints of a sob laced her voice as she caterwauled over the phone.
