Chapter 965: Strange Atmosphere
Evan never expected Xander to think that Orion was cheating.
But upon closer inspection of Orion, hidden in such a secretive location, with a girl, the scene did seem a bit ambiguous. Most importantly, today was supposed to be a joyous day for Orion, so his presence here was not right!
Evan also pretended to be shocked, “Yes, yes, he actually appeared in such a place with a girl, definitely cheating.”
Xander said, “Call Luna.”
Evan quickly stopped him, “If Luna finds out, won’t she divorce him? It wasn’t easy for him to marry Luna. We can’t break up their marriage.”
“Is he even considered a brother? Just because the marriage was not easy, he should treasure it even more. How could he cheat so easily?” Xander was indignant. If Evan hadn’t stopped him, he would have hit Orion.
Evan grabbed Xander’s arm, “There’s a saying – Rather demolish ten temples than break one marriage. So, we can’t treat Orion like this.”
He leaned in close to Xander’s ear and whispered, “Should we go talk to them? Let’s not speculate here, what if they are just discussing work?”
Xander nodded repeatedly, “You’re right, Orion wouldn’t cheat, and definitely not on his wedding night.”
Evan nodded vigorously, showing his agreement.
Xander raised his head, “Let’s go talk to him.”
Evan chuckled to himself behind Xander, thinking, you want to talk to them? Little do you know, you’re the one being fooled.
He remained expressionless.
Approaching Orion’s table, Xander stood tall and looked down at him, “What are you doing here? It’s such a special day for you. What are you doing here drinking leisurely?”
He turned to the girl opposite, “Do you know he’s married?”
Orion, “…”
The girl, “…”
The girl’s legs were crossed, wearing a skirt that revealed slim legs, a tight black top, a silver chain around her neck, hands crossed over her chest, looking lightly at Xander, “Yes, I know. What’s the matter?”
“What’s the matter?” Xander sneered, “He’s married, today is his big day, and you’re meeting him here, in such a hidden place. What’s your relationship with him?”
“What’s my relationship with him? What’s it to you?” The girl looked annoyed. Did he see her as a third party?
“Do you always assume that when a man and a woman are together, they have some improper relationship?” The girl stared sharply at him, “Don’t have such dirty thoughts, okay?”
Xander, “…”
“Then you’re not a good person.” Xander looked her up and down, she had a hot body, but dressed provocatively.
The girl returned his gaze, evaluating him from head to toe, and finally uttered two words, “country bumpkin.”
Xander, “…”
“You’re the bumpkin.” He was angry.
No one had ever spoken to him like this before.
Is this girl really lacking in manners?
“Do you think I’m lacking in manners? I think you lack gentlemanly demeanour.”
Evan gestured to Orion, indicating he should not round off the conversation, and the two immediately started arguing.
They were no longer close.
Could they become enemies?
Orion stood up from the sofa, pulling Xander, “You misunderstood, she’s my friend’s cousin. We met here for a reason. By the way, why are you here too?”
Xander didn’t say anything, his mood not good at the moment.
Evan said, “I brought him here to have a drink with me.”
Orion pretended to understand, “Oh, I see. Sit down then, since we’ve met.”
He pulled Xander, “You’re a man, don’t treat women with the same respect, let me introduce you to her.”
He pointed at the girl, “She’s Verda.”
He quickly pointed at Xander, “Verda, this is my good friend, Xander.”
Verda looked disdainfully at him, proud and willful.
Xander, “…”
“What kind of look is that?” Xander had never faced such a situation before.
Orion quickly introduced Evan, “This is my other good friend, Evan.”
Verda smiled at Evan, her red lips contrasting with her white teeth, “Hello.”
Evan nodded, “Hello.”
“Let’s all sit.” Orion suggested.
Evan was quite perceptive and sat on Orion’s side. The only available seat was near Verda, so Xander had to sit on the sofa closer to her.
Verda said disdainfully, “Don’t sit next to me.”
Xander, “…”
“I’ll sit right here.” Xander retorted, “The more you dislike it, the closer I’ll get to you. What can you do to me?”
Xander wasn’t in a good mood since being splashed with alcohol earlier. Now, faced with someone as aggressive as Verda, he didn’t want to just give in.
He couldn’t help but complain.
What’s wrong with girls nowadays?
He quickly poured himself a drink to calm down.
Verda looked at him in silence.
Orion and Xander watched.
Xander drank his drink.
Evan tapped him, “Don’t drink alone, let’s all drink together.”
Xander said, “I’ll pour my own drink.”
Evan almost rolled his eyes.
He was trying to lighten the mood, but Xander didn’t cooperate.
He couldn’t help even if he wanted to.
This guy was like a ticking time bomb today.
Orion observed Xander and Verda, thinking this situation probably wouldn’t end amicably.
He poured a drink for Evan, “Let’s have a drink.”All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Xander heard and interjected, “You’re taking me?”
Evan glanced at him, “You just poured your own drink, if you want company, ask the one next to you, not us.”
Evan’s intentions were clear – he didn’t want to go with him.
Xander, “…”
“If you don’t want to, then don’t. I’ll drink alone.” Xander poured himself a drink.
Verda said to Orion, “I’ll go now, I’ll make sure to deliver what you asked me to give to my cousin.”
Orion nodded.
Verda, like Xander, wasn’t someone who liked blind dates.
After studying abroad, she hadn’t worked and lived a carefree lifestyle, knowing that her family was wealthy.
Her family wanted her to settle down and work but every time she went on a blind date, she drove away her potential partner.
This time, Orion and Alf had tricked Verda into coming to the bar without telling her it was a blind date, under the pretense of delivering something.
“Leaving so soon?” Xander commented oddly.
