Wife by Day, Boss by Night

Chapter 65

Chapter 65

She watched as he repeatedly apologized before her, clenching her right fist so tightly that her

fingernails were nearly buried in the flesh of her palm.

“Enough.” When Samuel had apologized for ten minutes, Natalie suddenly spoke up in a quiet voice.

“You make me sick.”

With that, she stood up, climbed into the driver’s seat, and slammed the car door with force.

Without hesitation, she started the car, spun it around, and left the Wright family.

If she stayed one more second and inhaled one more breath of the air tainted by the Wright family, she

felt she would retch.

It wasn’t until the Wright family’s property had vanished from the rearview mirror, completely out of

sight, that Natalie pulled over to the side of the road.

She took a few moments to steady her breathing, preparing to drive off again when she noticed in the

rearview mirror a Maybach parked some twenty meters back.

Brian had been trailing behind her all this time.

She stared at the Maybach for a while, then restarted her car and headed towards Prestige.

Penthouses.

Brian’s car pulled into the underground parking before hers. Natalie parked in her spot, collected

herself for a moment, and grabbed her belongings from the car.

Without sparing a glance at Brian, who had appeared in front of her, she walked past him and headed

straight for the elevator.

After a moment of silence, Brian stood up and followed her, reaching out to grab her arm.

“Smack!” Natalie’s response was a fierce slap across his face. Her hand stung from the impact. tears Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

swirling uncontrollably in her eyes.

“You know full well what the Wright family did to me, Brian.” She said softly, “Anyone else but why

Gracia?”

It didn’t matter to Natalie that Bris

the one woman she despised!

was with every other woman in the world, except Gracia,

“You got what you wanted,” she managed, her voice quivering with tears, “I do hate you.” Event when

Natalie had witnessed Madelyn in his office, she’d managed to contain her emotions. But the thought of

him touching Gracia, that utterly repulsive woman, made it impossible to keep her feelings in check.

Because Brian knew all her past and had been a part of the most crucial years of her life. He was the

person Natalie trusted most, his betrayal was devastating.

Anyone could leave her, including Audrey, but not Brian. Anyone could betray her, but not Brian.

Yet he had done both.

Brian’s eyes held a complex mix of emotions, flickering with an indecipherable light. Some mistakes,

once made, were irrevocable, and more words were pointless.

After a while, he spoke softly, “If that’s the case, then continue to hate me.”

He bowed his head and tasted the salty tears on her cheeks, then covered her lips with his.

Natalie immediately bit down on his lip, refusing him entry, and a thick taste of blood filled both their

mouths.

Brian couldn’t help but let out a low groan of pain, yet he didn’t let go of her.

Seeing this unforgiving woman in tears, he should’ve felt a sense of revenge, but he couldn’t lie to

himself. Ho

just couldn’t leave her to suffer. Brian gently lifted Natalie in his arms and carried her into the elevator.

With each apartment having its private lift, there was no need for concern.

Reid, hearing from downstairs about their argument, had already closed Nate’s room door to avoid the

noise and kept his distance.

Brian stormed into the apartment without turning on any lights and tossed Natalie onto the couch.

She had braced herself for this moment earlier in the day when they had signed the agreement. Lying

on the couch, she simply gave up resisting.

The faint moonlight poured in from outside, and she immediately noticed the old scar on his waist. It

was a deep and vicious mark that remained menacing even after three or four years.

Instinctively, she reached out and gently touched the scar.

The moment she made contact, Brian’s brow furrowed even deeper.
