Whispers Of Betrayal (Anastasia and Alastor)

Chapter 178

Chapter 178

“Enough!” Alastor tried hard to suppress all his anger and was on the verge of an emotional breakdown. “Will you only be happy when you destroy me completely?”

Naomi was stunned when she got shouted at.

However, she obviously did not realize her fault yet.

“I did it for your good, okay? I almost lost my life to give birth to you. Your father doesn’t even care about you! Without me all these years, how can you live till now? Without me, your dad’s illegitimate child outside would have taken everything from you!”

“Here she goes again,” Alastor thought.

Alastor’s head hurt.

It was the same continuous and endless guilt-tripping.

Alastor did not know when it would truly end because he could not change the fact that they were related by blood. The only thing he could do was bear with it.

“You want a grandchild so much…” Anastasia looked at Naomi and sniffed in the blood from her nose. “Since you know that we’re here, you must also know that we’re here for the DNA paternity test. The result will come out soon. Don’t be too hasty. Let’s see if Felicia is really pregnant with your grandchild.”

Anastasia wanted to tell the truth to this good “mother-in-law” whom she had served for four years.

She would hit her where it hurt the most.

Since she wanted a grandchild so much, she should see if the child was really Alastor’s.

“What do you mean?” Naomi looked at Anastasia angrily.

“Felicia deliberately fell down the stairs and aborted this child on purpose. Make a guess. Do you think the child is Alastor’s?” Anastasia continued to provoke Naomi.

“Anastasia…” Alastor called her name as he suppressed his emotions, hoping that Anastasia would stop provoking his mother.

It was not that he was defending Naomi. Rather, he merely did not want Anastasia to fall out completely with Naomi.

In the past, no matter what conflicts arose, Alastor would help Anastasia solve them before they could reach her, ensuring that she would not have to deal with the problems.

However, now that the conflict was between Anastasia and his mother, he did not know what to do.

“The result is out.” Jason brought the result over and was about to open it in front of Naomi.

“This is our family business. You can get out of here…” Alastor suppressed his anger as he asked Jason to leave.

It was evident that he had enough of tolerating Jason.

“This is no longer just a family business…” Anastasia held Jason’s wrist and locked eyes with Alastor. “You’ve promised that we will get the divorce certificate tomorrow. Now, in front of your mother, you should make it clear again whether I’m the one pestering you to not divorce or if you’re the one delaying it.”

Alastor clenched his fists as he looked at Anastasia holding onto Jason’s hand. His heart hurt.

He could tell that Anastasia did it on purpose.

“Look, look. Look at her. She’s such a shameless and unfaithful wife! She hasn’t divorced yet, but she’s already entangled with another man. She even said that I had accused her previously. Did I really accuse her?” Naomi shouted angrily.

Anastasia held onto Jason’s wrist firmly and did not let go throughout.

Jason glanced at Anastasia and knew she was simply using him as a shield. However, he was still glad that, at the very least, Anastasia was obviously determined to divorce.

“Don’t you want to know the result?” Anastasia tore open the plastic packaging and took out the result slip.

Anastasia… Can we talk about this at home later?” Alastor’s voice was hoarse, almost pleading.

Anastasia sneered.

“Oh, you care so much about saving face now? When you insisted on doing a DNA paternity test with me, why wasn’t your attitude like this?

Alastor knew that he was in the wrong and could not offer any explanation now.

He did not care whether Felicia’s child was his or not. He simply did not want Anastasia and his mother to fall out completely.

“Open it!” Naomi grabbed the result from Anastasia’s hand and looked at it. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Then, Naomi’s hands started trembling. Naomi stared at it carefully for a long time and looked back uncertainly at the assistant who came with her. “What does this mean?”

“The child is not Mr. Lopez’s,” he said quietly.

Naomi felt her vision go dark and could not stand firmly for a moment, almost fainting as she was probably too stimulated.
