Whispers Of Betrayal (Anastasia and Alastor)

Chapter 24

Chapter 24

Alastor’s face was grim. Anger always showed on his face whenever he was angry.

Anastasia used to care about his emotions, but now she didn’t want to anymore.

All she got for being too sensible was being trampled on by Alastor again and again.

“You look pale. Have a good rest.” Alastor pushed Anastasia’s hand away and turned to leave.

“Are you going to see Felicia?” Anastasia looked away and took a deep breath.

She didn’t know why she was being stubborn or why she was making a scene.

The truth was suddenly exposed, but she was in so much pain that it was as if she had fallen into a thornbush.

“Alastor, I’ve been acting as a good wife to you for so many years, but you can’t even stand me for a few more days, huh?” Anastasia said in a hoarse voice with a threatening tone.

Alastor was a little annoyed. “Anastasia, stop it!”

“If you want to leave tonight, I’ll go out and find another man.” Anastasia didn’t know what she was angry about.

“I’ll sleep in the guest room. Alastor took a deep breath as if he was holding back his anger.

Anastasia was a woman of her word. What Alastor cared about was not whether she went out to find another man, but his own reputation.

Anastasia didn’t intend to let Alastor go just like that.

She seemed to have the stubborn determination to do what her heart wanted for once.

It seemed that she was determined to compete with Felicia to see who the winner was.

“If you can’t do it, I can send you to the andrology department to have a check–up.” Anastasia blocked Alastor’s way back to his room, held back the tears in her eyes, and took off her bathrobe.

She stood naked on the ground, while her dignity and all her love for him the past four years were thrown to the ground.

Maybe she wanted to follow her heart and go wild for once because she knew that she was dying.

“Stop it, okay?” Alastor rubbed his temple and walked to Anastasia to pick up the bathrobe on the ground. “You are very sensible. It’s my fault, and I will make it up to you. Don’t exhaust my last bit of guilt for you.”

He was blaming Anastasia for suddenly becoming insensible.

Anastasia thought, “When did sensibility become a derogatory term?”

“Do people like you feel guilty?” Anastasia stood on tiptoe and bit Alastor’s lips to vent her anger, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably. She didn’t step back until there was coppery taste of blood in her mouth.

Alastor didn’t dodge and simply let her go mad.

He didn’t touch her either.

This kind of indifference toward intimacy could crush a woman’s pride faster than anything else.

She would start to doubt herself.

She would wonder what was so unfavorable about her.

“Hello?” Alastor’s phone rang. He went to answer the phone and left Anastasia in the living room.

Anastasia was not deaf. The woman who was talking in a coquettish tone on the phone was Felicia.

“Alastor, I’m scared being here all alone. Can you come and accompany me?”

Alastor no longer answered the phone behind Anastasia’s back now as if it was nothing even if she heard their conversation. “Alastor, they’re here again. Come over quickly.” Felicia’s anxious and terrified voice was heard on the phone, as if she was hiding from someone.

Alastor frowned and glanced at Anastasia subconsciously.

Anastasia knew that she had lost.

Alastor wouldn’t stay tonight. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

But she still said. “Once you step out of this door tonight, I’ll go out and find someone else.”

Anastasia didn’t know what she was mad about. She just felt suffocated.

Alastor’s face darkened, but he still explained. “Felicia’s father is in gambling debt. Those people came to collect it, and I…”

16:40

“Her father is in gambling debt. She can call the police if the debt collectors are violent!” Anastasia interrupted Alastor.

Alastor glanced at Anastasia with a complicated look in his eyes. He probably felt that he had never known that she could go crazy before.

But he was the one who drove her crazy.

“Are you also going to settle her father’s debt?” Seeing that Alastor insisted to leave, Anastasia felt immensely pathetic.

“Get dressed” Alastor looked very angry. He picked up the bathrobe on the ground and draped it over Anastasia’s shoulders.

“Why did you lie to me? Since the blind date, you’ve been lying to me. Why did you lie to me to make me marry you? Why did you lie to me when there was another woman in your heart?”

No matter how crazy Anastasia was, Alastor left anyway.

Compared with Anastasia going out to find another man, he cared more about whether Felicia would be scared by the violent debt collectors.
