When Love Turns Cold

CHAPTER 90

Chapter 0090

The night Miranda found the condom wrapper, she had lied, saying that she was unwell and slept in the guest bedroom.

She had been afraid that if she spent another second in the master bedroom with Hansel, she wouldn’t be able to choke back her vomit.

That night had been very dark. The wind had been biting, and her tears never ceased.

The next day, she had gone to see a gynecologist at the Trinity Hospital and did a full screen. Fortunately, she was fine.

Ever since then, she had unconsciously stopped allowing Hansel to get close to her. Yet, he had never noticed that something was wrong.

It made sense. If he was getting his fill outside, then why would he notice that he hadn’t been getting any at home?

“I really think you’re dirty, so can you stay away from me?” Miranda asked.

Hansel’s breath stopped. He felt as though someone had grabbed him by the throat. In that instant, he lost the courage to look into her eyes.

So, she knew everything…

A light rain began to fall. The howling wind left a bone–deep chill in their bodies.

Hansel stood in the rain, allowing the raindrops to patter down on him. Like a statue, he stood motionlessly as he watched Miranda’s retreating figure.

Ingrid suddenly burst out in the rain. Seeing Hansel’s pale lips and frozen body, she sobbed, “Hans, don’t do this! Take care of your body, alright? If you keep standing in the rain, you’ll fall sick!”

Standing next to him, she shivered in the cold rain. “You’re standing here, but where is Miranda? She doesn’t even care whether you live or die! I’m the only one who loves you! I don’t want to break up with you, so I’m begging you. Please let me stay by your side!”

Hansel turned a deaf ear to her begging. With reddened eyes, he pushed her aside. “Get lost!”

“Fine. If you won’t come, then I’ll stay here with you!” Ingrid made up her mind. Gritting her teeth, she stopped trying to convince him.

Hansel was lost in his own world, paying no mind to what Ingrid was saying or doing.

He stared fixated in the direction Miranda had walked away in. He prayed that her heart would soften, even if it only meant giving him one last glance over his shoulder.

Yet, she had left resolutely.

The alcohol and chill hit him. Finally unable to hold on any longer, Hansel collapsed in the rain.

Ingrid rushed forward in fear. “Hans, don’t scare me…”

She ran to the alleyway and hailed a cab. The driver was a woman, so the two of them had to exert great effort to lift Hansel into the vehicle.

After returning home, the first thing Ingrid did was to help him change into a clean set of clothes. Then, she dried his hair with a towel. Amidst her frenzied efforts, she didn’t even care that she was still wet.

Peter, the family doctor, rushed over after receiving her phone call. He hooked him up to a drip. At midnight, although Hansel was still unconscious, at least his condition didn’t look as horrifying anymore.

Later that night, while half–asleep due to sheer exhaustion, Ingrid heard him mumble in his sleep. Leaning closer, she clearly heard him utter “Mimi” over and over again.

Thinking about how he had expressionlessly broken up with her earlier that day, it seemed like her biggest fear had finally come true.

Still, she couldn’t bear to part with him. She had spent so much time and energy to make her way to his side. After finally pushing the ex–girlfriend out of the picture and taking her place, how could she let go so easily?

With these thoughts in her head, her gaze darkened as she looked at Hansel, sleeping soundly in bed.

Finally, she gritted her teeth and steeled herself. She took off her clothes and found an old nightgown that Miranda hadn’t taken with her in the closet. Then, she carefully lay on top of Hansel. NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

Hansel was in a groggy state of sleep when he suddenly felt a soft lump on his chest. A familiar scent reached his nose.

He forced himself to open his eyes and saw Miranda’s blurry figure in the dark!
