Chapter 2 President’s Mysterious Wife
Chapter 2 President’s Mysterious Wife
Three years later.
In the guest room of the YS office building, Susan was shivering because of the air-conditioning in the
room, while the sultry voice that belonged to a woman opposite her caused her to have goosebumps.
She couldn’t help but frown while repeating her explanation for that woman opposite her, “I’m terribly
sorry, Ms. Morris. Mr. Ford has indeed hooked up with a new girl. Please leave with this compensatory NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
cheque.”
Yasmin got up from her seat and tried to flatter Susan to the best of her ability, “Ms. White, just help me
call Edward and tell him that I really miss him. I really want to see him now.”
“Edward likes me the most, and I believe that he won’t be so heartless.”
Everyone knew that Ms. White was Edward’s most trusted assistant, and if someone wanted to see
him, he or she would have to get over Susan first.
“Ms. Morris, please stop believing in your delusions. Mr. Ford is indeed that heartless.”
After finishing her sentence, Susan stood up and flashed a professional smile at Yasmin before turning
around and leaving.
As she opened the door, she added, “If you want to have a little rest before leaving the YS office
building, Ms. Morris, you can do as you please. You can have yourself some nice coffee and cake if
you turn left after exiting this room.”
She was obviously trying to end this conversation as soon as possible.
However, the moment she stopped talking, a paper cup containing some coffee was flung towards
Susan.
Luckily, only a few drops were splattered on her as the cup crashed to the floor.
“Who the hell do you think you are? You are just an obedient lackey by his side, who are you to say
that Edward doesn’t like me anymore?”
“You must be very familiar with the way the president bid his farewell to his old romantic interest.”
“Bullshit! This must be your doing! Who do you think you are? I want to see Edward no matter what.”
Yasmin suddenly became agitated as she rushed forward without warning. Luckily, the security guards
were able to stop her in time and drag her away.
In the end, this was just another case of a woman throwing a tantrum just because she was abandoned
by Edward “peacefully”.
After Yasmin was being shunned away, Susan ordered someone to tidy up the guest room before
slowly trudging to the tea corner.
The other employees of the company gathered around the tea are and started to gossip.
“Hey, Ms. White’s job is really too challenging.”
“Our president is really something too. He seems to be changing his female partner once every few
days. He’s really too disloyal.”
“How is he disloyal? Rumoured girlfriends are just that, Ms. White has to be the long-lasting one… If
you ask me, I would say Ms. White is the president’s true love.”
One employee said jokingly.
“Ms. White needs to deal with all sorts of women for the president yet she can still bear with the
troubles. I’m really impressed by her since she hasn’t resigned yet.”
On one side, a woman who was carrying a cup of coffee interjected.
“If you ask me, the most impressive one in the fray has to be the president’s wife. Knowing that the
president has been fooling around with all sorts of women, his wife doesn’t seem to want a divorce
anytime soon. She is really someone who can manage her composure.”
The one who was saying this suddenly sent a cup of coffee to Susan while asking, “Ms. White, have
you seen the president’s wife before? Is she pretty?”
“I have seen her before. In fact, I see her almost every day. She is really pretty.”
Susan took a sip of coffee while answering calmly.
The busybody woman couldn’t help rolling her eyes as she said while laughing, “Although you are the
president’s designated secretary, you are not his personal assistant. How are you able to see
president’s wife so frequently? She is a figure shrouded in mystery.”
Susan revealed a wry smile at the lot of them while emptying her cup of coffee. She slowly placed the
empty cup on a table and announced, “It’s up to you whether to believe me or not. I am going back to
office now.”
As she finished her words, she walked towards the president’s office.
She wasn’t telling any lies, though. She really… saw the president’s wife every day.
Since she needed to look into a mirror every day, of course she would see her reflection every day.
After returning to a floor catered only to the president, Susan immediately went to the washroom and
turned on the tap to clean the coffee stain on her shirt.
However, the moment her hand touch the tap, her hand was enveloped by another warm hand.
A man pulled her into his embrace and whispered by her ears, “Is everything settled?”
Susan wriggled free from Edward’s embrace as she continued to clean the coffee stain while muttering,
“Can you only hook up with women who have a mild temper? This shirt cost me a tens of thousands of
yuan, and I have only worn it once. I feel so sad seeing it like this.”
“I will ask someone to send two brand new ones to your office later.”
Edward swooped in towards her once again and stroked her.
Susan shrunk backwards to put some distance between them. She then said, “Send it to my house
instead. If your fans were to learn of you sending gifts to your secretary, I would probably be
slaughtered by them.”
Edward lightly pecked on her lips and looked into her eyes. He asked cheerfully, “Why aren’t you this
afraid then when you married me last time?”
Susan returned him a kiss and a brilliant smile was displayed by her face.
“I was too tempted by money back then. I couldn’t care about my fear.”
As she said that, her phone suddenly rang. It was the alarm.
The ringing sound reminded them that it was time for a meeting.
She fixed her attire and assumed her usual professional self while reminding Edward, “Half an hour
later, there will be a briefing session by the European branch in the meeting room on the third floor. I’ll
go get ready now.”
She exited the washroom after saying that.
Edward stared at this woman’s slender and thin back and the corner of his lips couldn’t help but lift.
This woman somehow always knew how to remove herself from her emotions and assumed her
professional antics no matter how deep into her feelings she was just a second ago.
