Welcome To My Life

Chapter 9 Because She Didn’t Deserve It

Chapter 9 Because She Didn’t Deserve It

A high-pitched yet raspy female voice came into the ears. The voice was mixed with pain and despair,

which were very obvious in the night.

Eduard wrinkled his eyebrows and looked at Kit, “Mr. Stewart, if I’m not mistaken, Hamish broke one of

your hands two years ago?”

Kit laughed at the words, “Mr. George, are you making fun of me? It is well known that Hamish is now

going to marry Martha, so how will he have time for this unpresentable ex-lover? All a man can see is

the smile of the new love, while the cry of an old one goes unheard. I’m sure you’ve heard this before.”

Unpresentable ex-lover.

The color drained from Isobel’s face as soon as she heard Kit’s words.

In fact, he was right, and it was just that she didn’t want to accept it.

But today, whether it was Kit, Martha or Hamish, they were all just telling her the truth.

She, Isobel, had always been a secret lover, a shameful plaything.

She closed her eyes and broke away from Kit’s hands, then walked toward Eduard. “No matter how

bad I am, I still have the right to choose. Mr. Steward, you are out of my league.”

Kit grimaced upon hearing her words, but since Eduard was standing in front of her, he didn’t dare to

do anything more to her and just gave a laugh. “Isobel, you’re really something. Hamish just dumped

you and you immediately hooked up with Eduard! But let me warn you that you were too naive before

and offended a lot of people, so you should be more careful not to make such a mess as today!”

Having said that, he twitched the corners of his mouth, then left with a sullen face.

Looking at Kit’s fading back, Isobel breathed a sigh of relief. But the moment she wanted to thank

Eduard, her vision dimmed out all of a sudden and she collapsed to the ground. NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

“You -”

Eduard was just about to ask her if she wanted to go to the hospital, but in a flash, he felt the weight on

his side. In response, he hurriedly carried her in his arms.

At that exact moment, Martha walked out of the club, holding Hamish’s arm.

When she saw Eduard holding Isobel in his arms, she raised her eyebrows. “Mr. George, what a

coincidence! The beauty in your arms looks a bit familiar!”

She said and deliberately got closer to take a look. “Oops, isn’t she Miss Lewis?”

“Hamish, Miss Lewis seems to have fainted!”

“Are you taking her to the hospital?”

Hamish’s slightly impatient voice called out, and Martha smiled sarcastically, “With Mr. George around,

of course I’m not needed.”

Eduard glanced at Hamish, didn’t bother with Martha and carried Isobel directly into the car.

Isobel just had a sudden syncope, but she didn’t lose all her consciousness.

Shortly after being placed in the car, she opened her eyes. “Thank you.”

Edward saw that she didn’t look herself and raised his hand to feel her forehead. “You’ve a fever.”

Isobel also raised her hands and touched her forehead, but she couldn’t tell if she had a fever or not.

She smiled, “Really?”

Speaking of which, she saw Hamish and Martha get into the car next to them.

As she recalled what Hamish had just said, the hand at her side clenched in a death grip.

Tonight, she eventually realized that for Hamish, she had been nothing more than a paid lover all along.

She should give up on him.

A poor person like her should keep her feet on the ground and shouldn’t presume to be loved by the

rich because she didn’t deserve it.

“Let me take you to the hospital.”

The voice of Eduard beside her came to her ears. Isobel came out from her trance, turned her head to

look at him and nodded, “Okay. Mr. George, thank you.”

“Don’t stand on ceremony. You’ve helped me before.”

Isobel forced a smile, the pain in her cheeks and her palm made her feel painful; however, Hamish’s

words that stabbed into her heart like a sharp knife made her feel even more painful.

His words just hit the bull’s-eye of her heart.

So cruel.
