Vengeful Hearts Return Novel by Susan Clyde

Chapter 163

Audrey frowned, her face turning gloomy. No one could tell what she was thinking-

Simon said, “The Gresham family doesn’t have many children. I heard Mr. Gresham’s only child was killed in an accident, so he adopted a relative’s son and has been grooming him to be the family heir.”

Seeing that Audrey did not look happy, Simon asked with concern, “What’s wrong? Did he offend you just now?”

Audrey shook her head. “No. I was just curious.”

Dylan glanced at that man and narrowed his eyes.

Troy was busy, so Audrey did not go over to say hi and just sent a message to him.

Audrey turned to Dylan. Tm going to the bathroom. I’ll be back soon.

“Alright. I’m waiting for you here. Dylan always agreed to whatever Audrey said.

After Audrey left, Simon handed a cigarette to Dylan. “Shall we have a smoke?”

“Sure.” Dylan took the cigarette and went to a ventilated spot with Simon.

Afraid that his sweetheart would dislike the smell of cigarettes, Dylan took just a few puffs before putting it out.

Simon did not say much. After the two of them finished smoking, Simon looked at Dylan sternly. “Be nice to her. She has suffered a lot.

Simon would never forget the girl filled with despair and aloofness. He couldn’t bear to look at her. Just a glance at her made his heart ache. His father also cared about her like a treasure.

“I know! Dylan’s voice was slightly hoarse, and a trace of pain flashed across his eyes.

“I won’t say anything else. Just remember, even though she’s not my sister, my dad treats her like a treasure. If you hurt her again, the Evans family won’t let you off!”

“I won’t let her get hurt unless I die!” Dylan promised. He had made up his mind to protect Audrey forever even if at the cost of his life.

When Audrey came out of the bathroom, she bumped into Freya.

Freya glanced at Audrey who looked a bit aloof and snorted disdainfully. She had just heard from Yannick, the second son of the Callahan family, that Audrey was merely a country bumpkin. If her mother hadn’t saved Troy, Troy wouldn’t have been so nice to her. Freya did not take her seriously at all.

“Know your place and leave Dylan as soon as possible. If I marry Dylan, you’ll be the one who look stupid!” Freya finished her words coldly, holding her head high like an arrogant peacock.

Audrey frowned and glanced at her indifferently before turning to leave. This woman must be a lunatic!‘ she thought.

The arrogance on Freya’s face was replaced by surprise and anger. She had never been ignored like this before. She snorted and cursed inwardly, You country bumpkin! What are you proud of?

Freya believed that after she cured Grace’s illness, Grace would definitely set her up with Dylan. It wouldn’t be long before Dylan was impressed by her talent in medicine. He was cold to her now because he didn’t know her well enough.

Thinking of this, Freya cheered up a little. After all, she and Dylan would get married sooner or later. If that country bumpkin did not leave Dylan, she would not go easy on her.

When Audrey came back from the bathroom, Dylan and Simon happened to return as well. Simon wasn’t interested in socializing, so he left with Audrey and Dylan.

“Do you want to eat some more? What would you like to have?” After getting into the car, Dylan asked, looking at Audrey gently

Andrey was still lost in thought when she heard Dylan’s words. “No, I’m full. You should go grab something to eat. Not long after she arrives at the party, Dylan showed up. He probably hadn’t had dinner yet.

“Then I’ll make some oatmeal after we get home so you can have some when you’re hungry later at night,” Dylan nodded and Alright, Audrey replied. The party had made her feel a little tired.

Dylan pulled Audrey into his arms and massaged her stomach. “Are you feeling uncomfortable here?”

Audrey’s body stiffened slightly, then she shook her head. Tin fine.”

“Are you thinking about the Gresham family?” Dylan asked when he saw Audrey frowning.

Audrey nodded. The man from the Gresham family she had just seen looked a little similar to David, but she was not sure if it was him.

Knowing how important David was to Audrey, Dylan immediately said, “I’ll get someone to investigate, but it’s been so many years, and it might take some time.

Dylan was also doing this for himself. If David were a child of the Gresham family, it would be best for him to return to the Gresham family so that he would not be around Audrey every day. Dylan hated any man around his sweetheart.

By the time they returned to the villa, it was already late. Audrey went straight to her room to shower, while Dylan washed his hands and headed to the kitchen to make oatmeal.

Dylan also made a bowl of vegetable smoothie with brown sugar and brought it up for Audrey. After she finished it, he took the empty bowl downstairs and washed it.

At this moment, the Callahan family party had ended.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Grace woke up from her nap and got someone to call Troy over.

Troy did not want to go. What happened to that old woman had nothing to do with him. Moreover, he was only her remote relative. Anyway, the Callahan family had little to do with him.

When Grace heard Troy’s rejection, she immediately lost her temper and said with a snort to the butler, “He thinks too highly of himself! Go get him here!”

Troy looked at the butler with a sneer. Then, he went to Grace’s room.

As soon as Troy entered, Grace said coldly, “I heard you’re close with Dylan. Then, help set him up with Freya

Troy was stunned when he heard Grace’s words. Ite wondered if he had heard wrongly. “What are you talking about?” Grace glanced at Troy, her turbid eyes turning even colder. Her sharp aura made her seem anything but a weak patient.

Theard you know Dylan and are very close to him. Freya likes him, so help her win him over!”

Troy sorted when he heard Grace take it for granted that he should help Freya.
