Chapter 29
Chapter 29
“You shouldn’t push yourself too hard. It’s summer now, and the weather is getting hotter. Remember to drink more water when you’re at work so that you don’t get heatstroke.
“My orchards are doing well this year, and the market for fruits is equally good. I’ll probably earn a huge sum from there. I’ll use the money to pay off half my loan and leave the rest for our family,”
Lorraine said.
Now that she and Logan were married, they were a family. She wouldn’t draw such a clear line between their finances, mainly because she genuinely adored the twins.
No wonder Finnegan and Luna excelled in everything–they seemed like children raised by an affluent family. It turned out it was because Logan had spent a fortune on them so that they could attend
Glendale’s most expensive kindergarten.
The environments in which children were raised had a profound effect on their upbringing and mindset. She had to admit that Logan was doing everything he could to raise Terence’s children to be the best they could be.
“I will.” Logan didn’t expect Lorraine to be willing to bear their family’s burden with him. Even if he had plenty of money and didn’t need her to fork out a single cent for the children, he still appreciated her willingness to help.
She was stunned by the kindergarten’s fees, but she didn’t make him stop sending the twins there. It looked like the children hadn’t made the wrong choice in accepting her as their mother. She was of excellent character.

Lorraine suddenly thought about Sonia’s suggestion since they were talking about money and raising a family. She asked Logan, “Do you want to be a celebrity?”
“No.”
She turned to glance at him before turning back to the road. “Why not? You could make a lot of money once you become famous. Sonia said her company’s parent company has an entertainment arm.
“You have good looks, and she’s willing to help you pull some strings if you’re interested in joining the entertainment industry.”
If not for the fact that he was currently hiding his true identity, Logan. would’ve flown into a rage. What was up with Sonia’s suggestion? Did he look like he could be an actor? Anyway, Sean wouldn’t dare take him on even if he wanted to join the entertainment industry.
“I don’t like the entertainment industry. You have no idea how convoluted things are there. Do you think someone like me would succeed there? I won’t, so it’s better for me to keep my feet on the ground and continue as a construction worker,” Logan said.
Lorraine thought about how his level–headed and honest personality was indeed unsuitable for the entertainment industry. Smiling, she said, “Sonia was only giving us a suggestion, and I was just passing the message. If you don’t like it, we can forget about it.”
In truth, she didn’t pay attention to celebrities and the entertainment industry. This was unlike Sonia, who paid close attention to the latest gossip and scandals celebrities became embroiled in whenever she had time.
Sonia could name almost all of the most popular celebrities. To Lorraine, they all looked the same.
Logan secretly sighed in relief, glad that Lorraine wasn’t persuading him to give the entertainment industry a shot. He was afraid it would blow his cover earlier than he wanted and expose his true identity.

One day, he had to speak to Jacob and tell him to keep an eye on Sonia. He didn’t want her to keep giving Lorraine nonsensical ideas.
They chatted along the way, which made the journey seem shorter than it was. Soon, they arrived at the kindergarten.
Lorraine parked the car far away. This was Glendale’s most expensive kindergarten, and all the parents who came to pick their children up drove expensive cars. She was worried she’d have to pay a hefty sum if she were to scratch any of their cars. That would make a year’s worth of hard work go down the drain.
