Hera remembered that Johnson majored in neurology and had made some extraordinary achievements in that field. Since Johnson worked for Bernard, it was only appropriate that she asked Bernard to give Johnson leave first.

"Why don't you spend time with me instead?" Bernard asked with a frown.

Hera froze as she digested his words. "You dummy!" She laughed.

Bernard smiled at her and pulled her into his arms so that she was sitting on his lap. "What kind of dummy would let you sit on his lap like this?"

"I'm serious!" Hera grabbed his hands to stop him from taking things further. "One of my patients is in a coma. Johnson majors in neurology. I was thinking of letting him take a look at the patient."

She'd be able to find a cure more quickly if she and Johnson worked together on this case. Besides, they had once performed surgery together. She thought they made a good team.

Bernard's heart broke for her. "Is the case so complicated? Let someone else handle it, then. You're only 18. Don't wear yourself out. I can support you even if you don't work. Don't make yourself tired all the time. Why don't we go out for a date the day after tomorrow?"

Speaking of which, Bernard and Hera had never really gone on a date.

"The day after tomorrow?" Hera lifted an elegant eyebrow.

"Yes," Bernard chirped.

Hera turned to look him in the eyes and asked, "Why not tomorrow?"

"Um, because... " Bernard's voice faltered. He wondered how he should answer the question so that it sounded reasonable and also didn't count as a lie.

Hera didn't give him the chance to answer, though.

"Did you peek at my schedule?" she asked. She and Rhett were going to Killian Corporation for a meeting the day after tomorrow.

Bernard cleared his throat awkwardly, and Hera was sure that her guess was correct.

Hera was a little stunned to see that. Bernard actually did some research for their date! She had always thought that he was naturally good at these things.
