Chapter 565
One day had passed. The next day, Everly still had not returned, nor did she go to work at the clinic. That worried Catherine since she had watched Everly grow up, and they were very close.
She asked Hera, "Herie, Everly hasn't returned for two days. Could something have happened to her? She doesn't have many friends in Jedburgh." The mention of friends suddenly reminded Catherine that Everly often mentioned that she was going to meet with a friend. That made Catherine turn to Wayne and ask, "Wayne, do you know the friend Everly has spoken about before?"
"Everly never told me who it was," Wayne replied with a shake of his head.
Instantly, an image of Everly getting out of Marcus' car crossed his mind. He wondered if Everly had gone looking for Marcus.
"She's still not answering my calls or messages. Could something have happened to her? Why don't we call the police?" Catherine disconnected the call while looking at Hera.
"She's already a grown-up and can make her own decisions. If she doesn't want to come back, she'll still leave even if you forcefully bring her back here." After answering Catherine, Hera left to interview the applicants for the herbalist position.
Seeing that made Catherine realize that Everly must have truly disappointed Hera and did not bring up the matter again.
Meanwhile, Wayne considered that Everly may have gone looking for Marcus, which made him angrier. But since he wasn't sure if he had guessed correctly, he did not mention it to Hera.
At that moment, it was as if Everly had gone missing.
Everly thought her disappearance would definitely be a large blow to Youngworth Miracle Clinic.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
After all, she was usually responsible for managing the medicinal meals in the clinic. Without her, the patients wouldn't be able to take their medicine on time.
Before three days had even passed, Hera would personally invite her back. By then, the matter of Everly preparing the wrong medicinal ingredients would be forgotten.

But Everly realized that she had underestimated how ruthless Hera could be. Not only did Hera and the rest not seek her out, but the clinic wasn't affected at all. Instead, the clinic was busier than ever, with a long line of people waiting to apply for the herbalist position
Even Oscar, the director of Pineview Hospital, and Johnson, as well as many talented doctors, had gone for the interview. Anyone could easily take her place.
Everly stood at the hotel window, watching the busy clinic from afar. She felt angry yet relieved.
Indeed, Marcus was right. Everly wasn't someone irreplaceable to Hera. Luckily, Everly had already chosen to side with the Chime family.
In Everly's mind, Hera probably wanted to replace her long ago. Everly had once been loyal to Hera, but Hera had betrayed her first. Thus, Hera couldn't blame Everly for double-crossing her.
With that in mind, Everly's gaze darkened.
Within a blink of an eye, it was already the end of the month. Since it was rare for Hera to wake up early, she checked that there was no problem with the medicine prepared by the two newly hired herbalists. Then, she informed Catherine that she was going out.
After booking a cab, Hera was about to leave when Bernard stopped her at the door. "Where are you going?"
Hera usually never woke up early if she didn't have something going on. Today was rather unlike her, so she definitely had something planned.
Bernard did not forget the note that Hera had brought back with her the last time. She even asked someone to hang around the fish pond at Stoneworth Park every day, but she never went there herself. It seemed like today was the day.
Hera did not want him to follow her and simply found an excuse. "Samantha invited me to go shopping."
Xavier's note only had the word "30th" and did not include the time. Perhaps he would be there all day, and the timing was up to Hera.
"I'll go with you. I can pay for everything and carry the bags," Bernard remarked. He then opened the door to the back seat and got in the cab. Hera was rendered speechless. She wondered what made Bernard become so clingy all of a sudden.
