Chapter 191 Home Wrecker
Chapter 191 Home Wrecker
When Polly lived with her husband's family, Elaine had often taken advantage of her mother-in-law's
favor towards her to bully Polly. Later, Elaine became a heavy gambler. Her addiction to gambling
made her mother-in-law dislike her. Since then, she never had the courage to return to the family
home.
Polly felt that she was no longer disadvantaged by Elaine, though her husband did not live up to her
expectations.
In addition to that, it was said that Elaine was proud of having been distraught by numerous scandals.
Polly was no longer sad when she thought about how much Elaine had suffered.
Emma didn't have much to be ashamed of, and Catherine's bruises and scars were not visible. She
had nothing to fear. NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.
Determinedly, Polly got Catherine out of the room, and into her second-hand BMW, and drove towards
Ditter Hotel.
They arrived shortly after.
Polly was watching celebrities walk in and out of the hotel. She had her biggest grin plastered on her
attractive face. She felt the urge to be on the same social level as them.
Catherine had tried hard to get out of her mother's grip, but Polly held her hand tightly, reluctant to
release her until they arrived at the entrance of Ditter Hotel.
Catherine realised there was no turning back.
The hotel had been refurnished with dozens of tables. Lola had hired a lot of professional waitresses to
serve the tea, because it was indeed a tea party.
Standing by the doorway, mother and daughter could hear people talking, and smell the strong aroma
of the various tea being served.
"Mom, if something goes wrong today, it's all your fault. said Catherine apprehensively. She then stared
coldly at Polly who was busy tasting the fine green tea served to her.
How could Lola and the other women be so easy on her?
Polly, gently waved her hand to calm her daughter, and said, "Rest assured. You'll be fine." To her
delight, the green tea tasted so good that it almost felt like heaven. She hadn't had such good tea for a
long time.
With Polly's reassurance, Catherine calmed down. 'As reckless as Lola was, she would not do
something so disgraceful in front of such a large crowd, ' Catherine thought.
It was past eight o'clock. Lola sat down with her daughters, their arms crossed. Lola stepped on stage,
dressed in a beige cheongsam with a snow white suede shawl.
After presenting a speech, she asked the waitress to serve a tea that was made specially for the party.
Catherine inadvertently sat down with Lola on the same table. She glanced at every person in the
room, including Ella, Daisy, Lillian and Emma.
In less than five minutes, a woman dressed in a creamy white cheongsam with a shawl that looked
identical to Lola's, moved towards Catherine, who was deep in thought.
"Ms. Gu, does the tea taste good?" Ella's voice seemed to have startled Catherine.
She turned around.
Ella, Lola, Daisy and Lillian were the main focus of tonight's gathering. Their clothes were the same but
differed in colour. Plus, they wore different shades of lipstick.
At that very moment, Ella with a smile, was holding a cup of green tea, as she waited for Catherine to
respond. Catherine, however, stared at Ella with an indiscernible expression trying to conceal the fear
that was creeping up on her.
She could not panic, no matter how much she wanted to. She just sat there and waited to see what Ella
would do.
Since the two had already been in conflict out in the open, it wasn't necessary to greet each other
courteously.
"What's up?" Catherine was disappointed that her tea had already cooled down.
Despite the temperature drop, she didn't like the taste of the tea very much, or any others that she had
been served already.
Catherine looked calm and serene, causing Ella to sneer. She had essentially confirmed that the
woman in front of her was the mastermind behind her attempted assassination.
"What happened to your face?"
Exasperated, Catherine clenched her teeth. It was a silly question since Ella was the reason why there
was a gauze on her forehead.
Rage boiled within Catherine but she forced a smile and responded back. "Miss Bo, it has nothing to do
with you. Please mind your own business, "
Ella raised her eyebrows. 'Ah, I should have known she would have said that.' Ella whispered to
herself.
However, she really didn't want to let her go scot free. She slowly approached Catherine and pulled her
upright.
Polly also felt that there was something odd. She put down the cup of tea and grabbed her daughter's
hand and asked, "Catherine, what's the matter?" Polly heard her daughter call the lady "Miss Bo", and
wondered whether the lady was Ella.
The words she heard next confirmed her speculation.
"I will tell you what's wrong. Your daughter was having an affair with my husband, and ruined my
marriage. She's very shameless." said Ella, relentlessly. Polly displayed a hint of indignation.
People around them started pointing fingers at Catherine.
"Ella, watch your mouth! Otherwise..." Catherine clenched her fists. She already had a hunch that
something bad would happen. In her mind, she blamed her mother for bringing her here.
Ella smiled softly. Then, she ripped the gauze from Catherine's face.
Catherine was caught off guard, and yelled "Ah!"
Ella held Catherine's hands the moment she was about to cover her face.
"Let me see what's on your face, " People turned their attention to what was happening between Ella
and Catherine. They gasped when they saw the words carved on her face.
It didn't take long for a young girl to exclaim, "It reads home wrecker."
The rumour that Catherine was a mistress was now confirmed.
"Of course, she is a home wrecker. Ella has already spilled the secret."
"I have told you not to judge a woman by her looks."
……
The conversation turned ugly. Catherine's true colours were revealed as she listened in horror.
She forcibly broke free from Ella's grip and glared at her. "Ella, you are such a jealous woman. Samuel
and I were in love. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have ended our engagement, " said Catherine
fiercely, snapping her fingers.
She regretted thst she hadn't hired a hit-man to have Ella assassinated.
"Is it?" Ella intervened in a sarcastic voice. She was a bit jealous even though she knew Catherine was
lying.
Nevertheless, Catherine nodded to the affirmative, after some hesitation.
Ella asked Lola to bring her phone.
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, she dialled Samuel's number.
The phone was quickly connected. Ella put the phone on loudspeaker. "Ella...", Samuel's voice boomed
through the phone.
"Dear, Ms. Gu told me that you and her were in love. I called to verify, " Ella said in a calm voice,
stolidly.
Samuel was apprehensive, fearing that she may have misunderstood him.
"Dear, isn't it clear to you already?" Samuel didn't know what was going on, so he told her the truth.
