It’s too late, Letta
Letta truly poured out all her fear and sadness in Sean’s embrace, who now held her tightly. The strokes on her back seemed to comfort Letta, making her cry even more. Until now, Letta had never been able to express any of the pain she felt to anyone. Sean’s embrace seemed to give Letta something she had needed all this time: someone who could listen to her and share her feelings. Letta was truly sobbing when the embrace suddenly unraveled.
Letta could see someone pulling Sean’s body forcefully and throwing him against the wall covered in gravel. With her eyes blurred by tears, Letta could clearly see a man with a very distinct aura and a familiar scent. Letta could recognize who the man was. Letta took a step back, covering her mouth. Letta couldn’t believe that Marco had found her this quickly.
“What are you doing? Who are you, you scoundrel?” Sean shouted, starting to rise to his feet again. But before Sean could stand, Marco kicked his shoulder, causing Sean to fall back down. After that, Letta looked back, where Pedro and another guard were climbing up the building. It turned out Marco had indeed brought his men to find her.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“If you dare, you must fight me fairly, not like this,” Sean said, making Marco just smirk. However, Letta shook her head, signaling to Sean.
“Don’t do anything,” Letta said, making Sean somehow feel that he should do what Letta wanted.
“Is he the man you mean who inflicted suffering on you?” Sean asked, making Letta fall silent. Letta then shifted her gaze to Marco, who was just staring back. From the expression on his face alone, Letta could see his hardened jaw, sharp eyes now fixated on her, as if he wanted to finish her right then and there, making Letta shake her head.
“No, not him. So please, stop fighting him,” Letta said again, making Marco laugh instead.
“Fine, I’ll fight you. So stand up,” Marco said, making Sean finally try to stand and look at Marco with a scrutinizing gaze.
“Come on, you want to fight me? Give me a punch,” Marco said, making Sean feel like Marco was mocking him at that moment.
“Very well, if that’s what you want,” Sean said, making Letta even more panicked and unsure of what to do to break up their fight. As Letta watched Sean now lunging at Marco, fists clenched towards Marco who was now evading, she could only stand there stunned. Seeing Sean and Marco trading blows in front of her, Letta became even more frantic.
Within minutes, Letta could see Sean struggling a bit against Marco. This made Letta finally turn to Pedro and the other guards.
“Do you want to see your master battered and bruised? Quickly stop them,” Letta said, making them bow their heads, as if they couldn’t intervene at all. Letta clicked her tongue in frustration.
Eventually, as Sean was about to rise again, Marco attempted to kick his face. But Letta immediately ran to block Marco. Letta embraced Sean’s body, which already had several bruises.
“Please, stop,” Letta said as she continued to hug Sean, causing Sean to reciprocate the embrace. Sean seemed to smile while looking at Marco, who was now gazing at the small figure of Letta embracing another man in front of him.
“You worry me,” Sean said with a loving tone, seemingly deliberately throwing such a sentence in front of Marco.
“Of course, I’m worried. Look at your face, it’s already bruised. There’s no point in fighting for unclear reasons,” Letta said, causing Sean to finally loosen his embrace. Sean looked into Letta’s teary eyes.
“It’s because the man behind you was the one who hit me first. I, as a man, can’t just stand there, can I?” Sean said, holding Letta’s chin. But the next moment, Letta could hear the threatening tone coming from behind her back. Marco, who was now crouching next to Sean, stared at him with a sharp gaze.
“Step aside, Letta, from that man. Never dare to touch that scoundrel,” Marco said with emphasis, clenching his fists tightly. Without Letta having to say, Sean knew that Letta meant the man who now stood behind her.
“Don’t you hear, Letta? Should I kill that man for you to realize what you’ve done? If you keep defending him, he will suffer even more,” Marco said again, prompting Letta to want to turn around and move from her spot. When Sean suddenly grabbed Letta’s nape tightly and pressed his lips onto hers, Letta was stunned. She could feel their lips touching, even sensing Sean slipping his tongue onto hers, as if he was forcing their lips to meld.
This made Letta truly feel her body freeze. Letta didn’t know the meaning and purpose behind Sean’s actions, even though she had previously received expressions of love from Sean, even a marriage proposal. But Letta didn’t know Sean’s true intention for doing this now.
When her body was suddenly pulled back forcefully as Marco seized her arm, their lip connection broke, finally causing Letta to look up at Marco, who was now staring at her with a sharp gaze.
“You’ve truly made a very wrong decision. Now watch how I finish off that man right in front of you because of your own mistake. So bear all the consequences of what you’ve done,” Marco said, making Letta shake her head.
“No, no, it’s not his fault, it’s my fault. If you’re angry, just hurt me. I’ll come back with you,” Letta said, making the corners of Marco’s mouth lift.
“It’s too late, Letta. I already want to finish off that man. So, watch closely,” Marco said, then looked at Pedro.
“Finish him,” Marco nodded and instructed his men behind him to move forward. Meanwhile, Sean immediately stood up. Of course, Sean couldn’t stand still as people began to attack him. While Letta began to struggle against Marco’s grasp, she had to do something, or she would have to endure the pain with Sean at this moment.
