Be careful
Letta slowly began to blink her eyes as she felt her whole body ache. Not only that, she also shivered intensely. Not to mention the dryness in her throat, which prompted Letta to attempt to get up from her seat to get some water, but she halted when she felt a large hand encircling her waist. Letta immediately flinched and turned to look back, where she felt the breath of a sleeping Marco brushing against the nape of her neck, leaving Letta frozen in place.
With Marco close to her, he seemed to be sleeping soundly, holding onto himself tightly, making it even difficult for Letta to swallow her own saliva. Letta then slowly tried to lift the large hand. However, her movement was once again halted when she attempted to pull back the thick blanket that covered her body, not a thread more. Letta tried to recall what had happened. Letta remembered vividly that they hadn’t done anything, but what remained fresh in her memory was Marco trying to torment her in the pool. After that, Letta didn’t remember anything. Perhaps it was because her bikini was wet, so Marco took it off, Letta thought.
Letta then tried to find something to cover her body before attempting to slowly move the large arm away so as not to awaken Marco. Letta lifted it, but instead of coming off, Marco continued to pull Letta closer. This made the large hand press against her stomach, causing Letta to grimace as her wound stung and throbbed. It managed to disturb Marco from his sleep. Marco blinked slowly, causing Letta to immediately close her eyes again. Then she got up from her seat, brushing the hair that covered Letta’s face to the side.
Letta didn’t know what Marco was doing now as she couldn’t open her eyes, not wanting Marco to realize that she was already awake. The next moment, Letta only felt Marco pulling the blanket back to cover Letta’s body, and then he fell back asleep, holding her even tighter. Being in his embrace made Letta bite her lower lip, even though she desperately wanted to leave the room.
Letta once again felt the steady breath brushing against the nape of her neck. Was Marco acting gently now because he was drunk? Because usually, Marco might have let Letta sleep on the floor instead of on his bed. Letta waited for a while until she was sure Marco had fallen back into a deep sleep before attempting to get up from the bed. After that, Letta breathed a sigh of relief as she managed to remove Marco’s large hand. What Letta needed right now was a drink of water.
Letta glanced at the glass on the nightstand and drank from it, before picking up the discarded bathrobe lying on the floor, furrowing her brow before realizing that Marco was now shirtless. Letta shook her head. It couldn’t be that Marco did that while Letta was unconscious.
She tied the bathrobe tightly before making her way to leave the room. However, for some reason, Letta felt a sharp pain in her chest. Perhaps it was because she had swallowed too much water while drowning earlier. Letta tried to regulate her breathing first before leaving the room. She descended the stairs, only to realize that it was now two in the morning, and the servants must have been asleep. There were only a few guards outside the house.
Letta headed straight for the small restroom at the end of the hallway, closing the door behind her. She then walked to the small bed that felt very hard, but for Letta, it was more comfortable than sleeping in Marco’s luxurious room. Letta chose an outfit to wear, but once again her movement was halted when she felt the pain in her chest. Letta pressed against her chest, hoping nothing serious had happened to her.
Letta then chose to continue changing her clothes before attempting to rest her body again. For some reason, her body felt even more trembling, her head heavy, and her throat stinging. Letta hoped that when she woke up, the pain in her body would improve. She didn’t know how long she had been asleep when she felt a light touch on her arm. She slowly blinked her eyes and was slightly surprised to see the high sun outside.
Letta then looked at Desi, who was staring at her with a worried expression.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Are you alright?” Desi asked, making Letta shake her head while trying to sit up.
“No, I think I have a fever. Do you have any fever medicine?” Letta asked, making Desi nod.
“I’ll bring you the medicine later, but eat this first. I made this breakfast for you,” Desi said, making Letta look at the small table not far from her bed before looking back at Desi.
“Thank you, Desi,” Letta said, making Desi nod. She then went to take the food when she remembered something.
“Has Marco gone to work?” Letta asked, making Desi shake her head.
“The master hasn’t come down from his room yet,” Desi said, making Letta fall silent. It was unusual for Marco not to have come out of his room after noon like this. He usually went to his office early in the morning.
“It seems that the master is taking a day off today,” Desi said, understanding Letta’s silence, prompting Letta to finally nod and choose to clean herself first before enjoying the breakfast and the medicine Desi had provided.
Letta gazed at the mirror in front of her, seeing several bruises adorning her body, mixed with red marks that Marco had left. Then, she looked at her face, which felt thinner than before, her skin dry and pale, as well as her lips appearing parched. Letta had truly neglected herself since Marco’s behavior had changed towards her. She could only lament her fate before finally leaving the bathroom.
Upon seeing the medicine placed on the small table, Letta immediately sat at the edge of the bed and started eating the breakfast Desi had prepared for her. However, just a few bites in, the door suddenly opened again, revealing Desi staring at her with a worried look.
“What’s the matter?” Letta asked, making Desi look behind her before walking closer.
“Master Marco is calling for you,” Desi said, furrowing her brow.
“Alright, then I will go upstairs,” Letta said, but just as she was about to leave her room, Desi stopped her once more.
“You haven’t taken your medicine, and you haven’t finished your breakfast,” Desi said.
“It’s okay, I’ll take the medicine after meeting Marco,” Letta said.
“Be careful, it seems like the Master is in a bad mood,” Desi said, making Letta nod her head. At least someone in this house was a little concerned. It made Letta smile in response to Desi’s care.
