Chapter 58 The dream
Chapter 58 The dream
Rachel froze immediately he spoke, the air was dead silent in the car, there was a barrier between
them so Jeff didn't eavesdrop on their conversation, but what the hell did he mean by that, Did he know
that she wasn't really Araceli...How would he even know, it's not possible, she has never slipped up or
anything so what could make him say such.
"What…"
"I don't under..understand Ace, what do you mean by you have lost Araceli, you don't want to lose
me too?," Rachel asked, as her heart started to beat a little faster, if she had fucked this up that means
she was done for. All this while, she thought she was keeping Araceli's secret safe.
"I mean exactly what I said," Ace said, looking at her confused, or was he really dreaming when
Araceli appeared to him the night she had the accident that her friend would take over her body to take
care of him.
"I don't think I understand you Ace…" Rachel replied, her tone was now a little higher than normal
as she started to sweat a little.
"Araceli told me that she had gone to rest and a good friend of hers was going to take over her
body and memories to take care of me," Ace repeated it as he remembered from the night.
It was the night of the accident, they had just had lunch and he was watching TV when he heard
his mom yell from the kitchen. She started crying as she rushed around trying to find her shawl, he had
never seen his mother so disoriented before not to talk off crying. When he asked her what happened,
she just said Araceli was in an accident and was in the hospital, that he should pray for her quick
recovery. He debated on going together with her but she refused adamantly, saying that she wasn't
going to let him see Araceli.
That night, he couldn't sleep well and only ate a little food because that was when the whole
situation dawned on him, neither his father or mother nor Araceli was back for the dinner and the maids
kept assuring him that they were fine and all they went for was a meeting but he knew where they
were, at the hospital looking Araceli. Somehow, he was able to finally speak, Araceli appeared in a
white dress she wore when she left that morning, told him to be a good boy that he was in safe hands
with a very good friend of hers and her name is Rachel johnson but that he couldn't tell anyone. Not his
parents and not his friend or bestfriend and he must not tell Rachel that he knew that she wasn't
Araceli.
"When did she tell you this?" Rachel whispered. They were so engulfed in their conversation, they
didn't know when they arrived at their mansion and were outside waiting in the car.
"On the night of the incident I guess, because she was wearing the same white dress our mom got
for her for her graduation from business school," Ace answered.
"So you knew all this while?," Rachel asked again really feeling stupid with times she thought she
was really staying in character with him but instead, all this while, she has been making a fool out of
her itself.
"Yeah, I mean sometimes I won't even have to talk or pretend, you are just like her in so many
ways, except you are more outspoken…" Ace whispered, using his hand to clean his running nose.
"Well can you atleast keep this between me and you, I don't think I'm ready to let anyone know yet,
they might not understand it like you do," He looked at her ridiculously like what she spoke was not in
english.
"Araceli, I have known this for over two months and I didn't even tell you your own secret, what
makes you think I would tell anyone else and why will I even want to tell someone else, they wouldn't
understand," Ace laughed at her ridiculous plea. He was a kid but he definitely wasn't stupid.
"Uhm..yeah that…" Rachel was saying not until a loud bang on the door scared the shit out of both
of them, they both screamed and held each other only to look outside the window to find a crazy
looking Amy waving at them through the tinted glass but she couldn't even see them, how did she
know they were inside. Rachel opened the door on the other side letting Ace out and then came out
herself.
"Woah...really Amy??" Rachel looked at her across the hood of the car, she had no makeup on
and her once blonde yellowish hair had now been transformed to a very white platinum blond and was
cut short, she couldn't deny the look fit her more than the usual blonde mess she had initially, she was
also spotting a sport hoodie.
"What!!"
"Just wanted to give you guys a little scare, Hi Ace!!" Amy waved at Ace who just waved back and
walked inside the house to leave both of them outside. Walking around the car, she finally got a full
view of Amy, she was wearing a jogger with a matching hoodie with some beat up white trainer, all in all
she looked like someone who went jogging and that was not the Amy she knew, Amy didn't work out,
she claims God had given her the perfect body therefore she didn't need to work.
"Like what you see," Amy said, turning around showing Araceli full view of her body smiling wide,
she did a little butt exercise and jogged some few lanes a few times, just twice actually before heading
over to Araceli's place, she had a little makeover too.
"Amy, A day of work out doesn't magically make you J-lo or Rihanna," Rachel said, walking
towards the door. Even though yes, she didn't compare to those goddesses in the music and
entertainment industry, Amy had a great body, she had the sweet sixteen hourglass shape girls wished
for in highschool to gain highschool boys attention.
"I see you had a makeover too, your hair looks fire by the way," Rachel complimented her, as they
finally got into the house. This was the part about living in a mansion she had come to hate, everything
was so spaced and far away from each other it was actually frustrating a bit. The stair was far from the
kitchen area, the rooms on ground floor she had never even seen nor was she worried about seeing
them.
"What are thinking about?," Amy asked her, as she watched Araceli stare into space or though
nothing was in front of her, just white granite marble tiles in front of them and white walls with a painting
of what she till can't bring herself to explain, all she could was black and yellow had never gone so well
together.
"Why does the staircase have to be so far and the kitchen is like two hallways away?," Rachel
asked as she felt even more lazier just thinking about attempting it. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
"How long have you lived here again?," Amy asked, folding her arms looking at Araceli.
"Almost all my life I guess, as long as I can remember," Rachel answered, even though that was a
lie, she has only be here for like two months and some weeks which isn't still enough time to get
accustomed to the whole mansion, she was sure there are places she still hadn't seen in the mansion
but she was in no rush, the pressure then didn't let her get any comfortable.
"Wow...you should work out more you know, just because you got great body goals doesn't mean
you are actually fit you know," Amy said with a serious face walking ahead.
"Oh really now…"
"You decide to do a little work out today and a walk here and there and all of a sudden you are
now a fitness coach huh.." Rachel rolled her eyes and followed her.
"Where does your room sit again?," Amy asked confused, looking left and right that lead to two
different hallways.
"The right, third door…"
"Alright, first to reach your room is cooking lunch," Amy yelled laughing knowing she had already
won because Araceli was still half way up the stairs.
She reach the right hallway and counted the doors before reaching the third door but a picture
caught her eye, it was a picture of Young Araceli because she recognized that cute button nose of her
but this time her hair was shiny black and beautiful, but Araceli's hair was brown with some streaks of
caramel strand, even though it was beautiful and looked very natural, she never imagined that Araceli's
hair was originally black which gave her the perfect makeover idea for Araceli. As if on cue, Araceli
finally reached the top of the stairs and rushed towards her, the frame was just two steps away from the
third door, so she rushed to the door quickly and opened it.
"Amy what the hell are you doing in my room?," Ace screamed as he was wearing only a towel on
his waist.
"That fucker…"
