Chapter 75
Olivia Brooks saw Ethan Carter standing there unresponsive, her heart growing more and more anxious. Simply gazing at her from above, a flicker of disgust flashed across his face, and without hesitation, he broke away from her embrace, taking a few steps back, keeping a safe distance. "Ethan, I'm begging you, don't reject me, okay?" She bit her lip gently, her face as red as an apple, gazing at Ethan with longing in her eyes. the moment Ethan shook her off, her heart was seized as if it had been pulled hard.
Ethan didn't respond to her words, he just glanced at her coldly and turned away without looking back. Olivia Brooks stood there stiffly, her heart falling into an abyss, her tears slipping away silently. She thought that if she took the initiative, Ethan would make a move, but the result was disappointing.
"Ethan, why are you doing this to me?" She whispered softly to herself, her hands scrambling to straighten her clothes. But her emotions were out of control, and she fell onto the couch, crying out in pain.
Meanwhile, Ethan was sitting in the car with a heavy heart, his brow furrowed and his face in deep thought. He seems to have lost sight of his own heart, and his decision to divorce Emma Johnson because of Olivia Brooks, who is the moonlight of his heart, seems to be more complicated than ever.
He thought that Olivia Brooks was the one he loved and couldn't let go of, but now it seems that it's not that simple; Ethan realizes that he's out of sorts, and thinks of the hurt look on her face when he rejected her, and feels guilty about it.
He rubbed his sore brow irritably, trying to put it all behind him. The thought of running away from Olivia Brooks' feelings had occurred to him. In an attempt to empty his mind, Ethan started the car and pressed the gas pedal towards the bar. Walking into the bar, Ethan found an unassuming corner where he wanted to drink in peace and quiet, and get drunk so he wouldn't have to think about such insignificant things.
"Emma, come try the takeout I just ordered, it's a great late night snack!" Summer Thompson excitedly sat at the table, said with anticipation. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
Three Years to Love
"Emma, come try the takeout I just ordered, it's a great late night snack!" Summer Thompson excitedly sat at the table, said with anticipation.
Emma smiled and nodded, and was about to say something when she was interrupted by the ringing of her cell phone. She picked up her cell phone and saw Ethan's name flashing on the screen, her brows slightly furrowed.
"Emma, what's wrong?" Summer noticed the change in her mood and asked with concern, Emma shook her head slowly to show that she was fine, and then walked into the bedroom with the phone in her hand, before picking up the call. The music and cheering on the other end of the line was deafening, the atmosphere seemed to be very lively, Emma's brows tightened, she thought that Ethan had accidentally dialed the wrong number, and when she tried to hang up, the phone rang again.
"Hello, Ethan?" she answered the phone, slightly impatiently, and heard the same loud music. Just as she was about to hang up again, there was a human voice on the other end of the line.
"Ma'am, hello, this is Max31 bar, the owner of the cell phone is drunk in our place, please come pick him up." The voice on the other end of the phone was not Ethan's, but a strange man's voice, explaining the situation briefly.
"I'm sorry, I don't have time." She refused without hesitation. She refused without hesitation, Ethan's drunkenness at the bar was none of her business, so why should she mind her own business!
