Three Year To Love (Emma Johnson and Ethan Carter)

Chapter 108

"Forget it, I can just grab a cab myself." Emma Johnson's cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Ethan Carter smiled gently, "It's not very gentlemanly to let a lady leave alone." He stood up, draping his coat over his arm and watching her quietly.

Emma let out a resigned smile, "Alright then, I guess I'll have to trouble you."

The two left the restaurant together, and on the way back to the office, Ethan initiated a discussion about design. Emma was pleasantly surprised to realize how similar their design philosophies were. As they chatted, the car, came to a stop outside Carter Corporation's building.

Emma leaned closer, anxiety evident in her tone, "Thank you for today, I really appreciate it. I need to hurry inside-the boss needs me.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Ethan nodded with a warm smile. Emma didn't have time for further conversation; she quickly turned and rushed into the lobby.

"Em, what's wrong? Is there something urgent?" Rachel Smith asked, her brow furrowed with concern as she watched Emma.

Emma slightly furrowed her brows, "Mr. Carter just called, saying there's an important issue at the company that I need to handle. I'll catch up with you later."

With a hurried breath, she knocked on Ethan's office door. "Mr. Carter, you needed me

urgently?"

Ethan slowly lifted his gaze, his sharp eyes assessing Emma from head to toe. "Print this document for me; I'll need it for this afternoon's meeting." The words left her in shock.

Emma stood frozen, disbelief washing over her. He called her back for this?

Three Years to Love

Emma stood frozen, disbelief washing over her. He called her back for this?

She frowned, pointing at the document on the desk. "This is the important thing you needed me for?"

"Indeed. This document is crucial for the meeting later. Isn't that important?" Ethan replied, lifting an eyebrow, his tone indifferent.

Emma felt a surge of anger, once again sensing that she had been toyed with.

He rushed her back solely to have her print meeting documents? She was at a loss for words, speechless from frustration.

Five years later, she realized Ethan seemed far more immature than before.

Seeing her still frozen in place, Ethan ordered, "Why aren't you going?"

Emma bit her lip in anger, grabbing the document and flouncing out.

"Em! Why did Mr. Carter call you back so urgently? Is there big news?" Rachel asked, curiously approaching Emma at her desk.

Emma let out a cold laugh, raising the document in her hand, "The so-called 'important matter' is that I need to print the documents for this afternoon's meeting."

Her voice dripped with exasperation. She truly couldn't understand what Ethan was thinking-was it really amusing to him to toy with people like this?

Emma vented her frustrations briefly to Rachel.

"Emma, I can't help but feel that Mr. Carter has a soft spot for you. His expression is always so cold to everyone else, but he's different with you," Rachel said, a teasing glimmer in her eyes. Emma quickly shook her head, denying it, "That's impossible! Mr. Carter is about to marry Olivia, so please don't say anything silly."

"I'm not being silly; I really think he treats you differently," Rachel replied earnestly, fully convinced.
