Chapter 2032 Sophia’s Call
Aurora sat down beside Cindy. "I understand all of that on a rational level. I don't think I'm even that attracted to him. It's just that his sudden act really affected my mood, you know? I find this both funny and sad at the same time."
Cindy leaned back against the couch. "Perhaps guys develop and lose feelings toward others a little quicker than we do. But did the guy tell you if his new woman is just a companion, or if they've gone through any legal procedures?"
Aurora shook her head as the guy hadn't clarified anything with her. She reached for her phone before showing the text message to Cindy. Cindy took a long look at the text—the man had sent a long text to thank Aurora for her companionship before telling Aurora about his new woman, how he wanted to settle down, and so on.
I don't know if I'm being sensitive, but I feel like he's showing off for some reason, she thought while reading the text. It's like he's trying to tell Aurora that he can find another woman if Aurora doesn't want to be with him. Cindy scoffed before returning the phone to Aurora. "I don't think any woman can stay with a man like him for long. We'll see. I bet he'll come back to you after a while."
Aurora finally spread her lips into a helpless smile. "Gosh, no. I never want to see him again." She figured that her life was much better now, and she didn't want any other troubles to knock on her door.
Cindy and Aurora chatted in the room for a long while—they talked about life, work, and Cindy and Ian's relationship. After talking about a series of random topics, Aurora finally seemed to be in a better
mood. In the end, they both felt rather hungry. Cindy checked and saw that it was about time, so she went back to her room to wake Ian up.
Ian had no idea that Cindy had left the room. When he turned to see Cindy lying beside him, he spoke to her in a muffled voice. "Why are you up so soon?"
"I'm hungry, and I feel like eating. Do you want to go out? Otherwise, I could go with your mom, and we'll bring some food back for you," Cindy offered.
Ian was still rather sleepy, but he got out of bed after a while. "Let's go together. I'd be worried to have you two walking around on your own."
Cindy giggled. "What's there to worry about? We're both grown women. It's not like we're going to get lost."
He went to grab a change of clothes from his luggage. "You're too pretty. I have to be around to catch anyone who tries to flirt with you." Cindy scoffed when she heard how serious he sounded.
Once both of them got changed, they met Aurora outside their room before going down together. They had just walked out of the hotel when Ian received a call from Sophia. He had made a passing comment about coming back home, but he didn't tell Sophia the date. He only said that he would bring Cindy back to host a mini engagement party.
Sophia had heard the news from Logan—that was why she called Ian. "Yeah, I'm back. I just got back today, and I'm still at the hotel," Ian replied in a cheerful tone after picking the call up. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Sophia sounded just as happy. "Logan mentioned that we'll be having dinner tonight. I was wondering if
there was a reason he wanted dinner with us since he's stuck to his wife all the time. He didn't tell me anything, but I had a feeling that you came back."
It sounded like Logan to be a little more secretive with such surprise plans. Unfortunately for him, Sophia had a knack for guessing.
"He has never been good at lying, anyway. I don't understand why he still tries to do it," Ian replied in an amused tone. He was right, but that was also what made Logan so adorable. Sophia enjoyed teasing Logan, and she would feel especially pleased whenever he stomped around in rage. Even though Logan had gotten married and was a father, he didn't change at all. He was still as chaotic as ever. That was the way Logan lived his life—he drifted around without a single worry in his mind, and nothing seemed to be able to defeat his passion for life.
Sophia had called just to check if they were actually back in town, so she told Ian that they would properly catch up during dinner at night.
