Ian was sitting on the couch and going through the gifts that his fans had given him. His lips were curled upward as if he were pleased by all the gifts. When he heard someone opening the door, he turned around to find Cindy. “How was it? Did your mom allow me to go over?”
She nodded as she walked over to sit down beside him and cling to his arm. “My mom’s free when she’s home, so it’ll mostly depend on when you’ll be free to go over.”
Upon hearing her words, Ian felt less worried about the situation. He lifted his arm and wrapped it around Cindy’s shoulder before pulling her close to him. “The production team is starting the next filming soon, so we should go before it starts.” The company had allowed Ian a few days off before he started filming, so Ian decided that he would take this opportunity to pay a visit to Cindy’s family. Cindy was rather shocked to hear this. “I don’t think there’s a need to rush. We can go home after you’re done with your filming.”
“No, no. We should go as soon as possible. I don’t want to drag this on any longer. The sooner we get this over with, the less I’ll have to worry. We can discuss whatever has to be discussed, and we’ll have a better idea of what to do next. I’ll feel a little more secure that way,” Ian replied.
Right then, Cindy recalled what Ian had told her about getting engaged. Whatever he wants to discuss is probably related to the engagement. I guess that would be good—our relationship would be a little more official once we get that done. After hesitating for a while, she nodded in agreement with him. “Okay. We’ll go along with your plan.”
Once they were done discussing this matter, they both felt a little less uneasy. Although they had yet to travel over to Cindy’s house physically, and although they had yet to sit down with Hazel to discuss their future, at least they could prepare themselves for what was coming next.
Ian had a brief shooting the next day that only lasted for 30 minutes. After that, he was done with all of his work, so he was free until the commencement of his next filming. When Ian got home, he made some calculations and decided that he would have three days to spare. I’ll use these three days to visit Cindy’s family. I think it should be enough.
This time, Ian booked his own plane tickets instead of getting Cindy to do it for him. He had already seen Cindy’s ID, so he knew where her house was. Once all the necessary preparations were made, and once all the tickets were booked, Ian told Cindy about it.
Cindy pulled his phone over to take a look at the tickets he had booked. Soon, she burst into laughter. “Are you that anxious to see my mom?”
Ian had booked flight tickets for that afternoon itself, and they would reach Cindy’s house by nightfall. Everything happened so quickly, Cindy didn’t have the time to prepare at all. “Ah… I am pretty anxious. Can’t you tell? I’ve been anxious about this all along. I’ve made it pretty clear—how could you not notice it?”
It was true that Ian had been rather anxious all along, but Cindy hadn’t expected him to book flights on the day itself before telling her about it. She sighed before turning around to hug Ian’s waist. “I’m not going to run off. What’s there to be anxious about?”
“But you’re going to go to work,” he mumbled quietly. Once Cindy was off to work, she would be out of
Ian’s sight and control. Furthermore, the boss of the company she was working in knew Gary.
On top of that, Cindy seemed to have gotten the job out of the blue, which made Ian more worried as he found the situation rather peculiar. Cindy wasn’t the only one who was vigilant of Yulia—Ian had been very alert around her as well. Previously, Peter was the one in the picture, and now it was Gary. Ian just wanted to settle down with Cindy.
If they continued to remain like this, Ian wasn’t sure if some other guy would show up. He was done with all of these men. Can new people stop coming into the picture? I’m so annoyed!
Since the tickets were booked, Cindy couldn’t protest. Before they left, Cindy double-checked if Ian was done with all his meetings in the company. Once they were gone, their only way of handling any matters was to give Hannah a call.
