THE REMORSEFUL BILLIONAIRE

I’m still yet to understand how Judith can still be so naive and foolish. I was expecting her to order his arrest and let him rot in prison but instead she’s still very much in love with him. I can’t seem to understand why she can’t let him go. I need to act fast and use this situation to my advantage if not all my efforts would be futile.

I’m so pissed right now. I feel like a loser who can’t seem to get anything right. I don’t regret talking to her in such rash manner. She should feel the same pains I’m going through.

“Hi, can we meet at the Essence palace club house?” I said over the phone to John while parked at the clubhouse.

“Okay, will meet you there in a while,” he replied and hung up.

I headed inside the clubhouse. The inside of the club house is furnished with neon lights casting vibrant colours to the room. The air is filled with a mixture of perfumes, colognes and a thick hint of smoke.

In a corner, a DJ is seen mixing tracks with people packed on the dancefloor swaying and jumping to the energetic tempo and heavy bass, rocking their bodies against eachother.

I moved passed the energetic crowd, and found my way to the VIP lounge, where it’s less noisy and crowded.

I got a seat and ordered for an alcoholic drink. “I need to drink, and forget this ill feeling,” I thought as the waiter served the drink in a glass cup.

I’m certain John will make fun of me for not being able to get Judith back despite all the information I have but I don’t care. I will be shameless to ask for his help and know the way forward.

Some minutes later John came in with a girl dressed in a provocative dress that revealed her boobs almost to the nipple’s and heavy makeup. She looked like a prostitute. They both reeked of alcohol and also had cigarettes in their hands.

“Hey, man,” John greeted and extended a handshake.

“Hey, how are you doing?” I greeted and took the hand.

“Hello,” the lady said with a seductive look and tone, adjusting her dress so it could reveal more of her cleavage.

“Hello,” I answered and immediately took my eyes off her. I could see her flinch and get disappointed at my gesture.

“John, what drink do you care for?” I asked as I tried to call the bar attendant.

“I don’t want any drink. I was drinking in a nearby bar with my lady when you called. You sound disturbed that was why I came,” he said and puffed a smoke, then kissed the lady.

She accepted the kiss and caressed him from his chest down to his dick of which he moaned to. The sight was so disgusting.”why can’t they wait and get a room afterwards?” I thought and looked away from the not so pleasing sight.

They withdrew from the kiss and I could see him sexually aroused. He felt like stripping her off immediately and having sex with her. I felt like throwing the lady out of my sight. I have a problem to deal with but she keeps stealing his attention.

“John, there’s a problem,” I said quickly, trying to allow him focus and hear me out, because the lady seemed like she was sent to annoy me further.

“Argh, Felix, I’m so hard right now. The plan was to club till midnight, then have some fun. You’ve e ruined my plans,” he lamented bitterly.

“I’m sorry for ruining your plans but I have an issue bothering me. Let’s talk about that. It won’t take too long then you can go have your fun,” I reassured.

“Okay, I’m all ears,” he said and took his hands off the lady’s lap, and focused on me.

“Can she excuse us,” I said in a low tone.

After she left, I began narrating everything to him without leaving out any part. He listened keenly, and I could see from his facial reactions that he was not pleased with me.

He became even more furious than I was, expressing his disappointment in me and blaming me for not telling him about the whole situation earlier.

I became annoyed with myself too. A man like me should not allow a lady to treat him this way. I seem to have forgotten that I’m Felix Wells. I’m smarter than this. I can’t understand how I have become so stupid just because of love. And it’s not even true love-it’s one-sided.

You should have told me earlier,” he said with disappointment, puffing on a cigarette. “I was so excited when Father announced that his engagement had been called off without specifying the reason, even when my mom and sister kept asking. My mom thought it was because Nathan probably found out that Judith was a gold digger, but I kept quiet still.”

“I was giving her time to heal and then move on. I don’t know she was never going to move on from that bastard,” I cursed angrily.

“Nathan is smart. He knows how to manipulate one , he knows how to turn people to his side. That was probably the same way he manipulated my father and sister,” he said.

“Are you serious?” So it’s might not be Judith fault. He must have manipulated her and looked pitiful to her. But I’m not going to give up on her, I will make sure to save her from his shackles. She deserves better,” I bragged

There was total silence for a while like he was thinking about the next line of action to take. I must say that he seemed so determined of bringing Nathan down. He must have had so much hatred for him.

“Okay, you know what?” He said and smiled, like he found a promising solution to the problem.

“What?” I asked optimistically.

He gave me a gesture with his hands to move closer to him, of which I did and he said “Do you by any chance have evidence of the robbery and assault?

“No I don’t, we were trying to conceal everything. So there is no evidence,” I answered.

“Okay then. We are also going to be manipulative. The kids are the best evidence to use.”

“How?” I asked with a confused look. I don’t understand what he meant by the kids being the best evidence. I’m fighting against Nathan not the innocent kids and I can’t reduce myself to the point of using the kids as negotiation. They are kids- innocent and unaware of whatever is happening.

“Since you don’t have any concrete evidence. You will negotiate with Judith to marry you or else we are going to instigate the police to arrest him and the media to reveal the kids to the public. I might dislike Judith but I know for a fact that she’s a good mother and won’t want her kids in such spotlight,” he said, grinning from ears to ears, like he had just won a lottery.

“No, I can’t do that John,” I nodded in disagreement. “That would be too low of me and involving the innocent kids might even make her hate me further,” I said and sighed . Her kids are everything to her, to tamper with them is to see her wrath. I can’t do that John, that’s too cruel,” I concluded.

“This is the reason why that woman doesn’t take you serious. You are too weak,” he said as he pointed a finger at my chest. “There wouldn’t even be any need to reveal the kids because she would agree to marry you for the sake of her dear kids.

“Even though, that’s too low,” I said angrily.

“You have to go low or sometimes behave like an asshole to get what you want at times. Nathan went low by assaulting your woman, and now to claim her back you have to go lower,” he fired back at me not minding the people around.

I was speechless and perplexed. I haven’t seen someone this cruel and selfish in my entire life. Someone who can do anything or hurt anyone to get whatever he wanted.

“I can’t do this, I can’t do this,” I muttered silently. Although it seemed like the best solution to my problem but it’s also seemed like the easiest way for Judith to hate me completely.

“But she doesn’t care about my feelings so why should I care about hers? She chose Nathan – that bastard over me , and made me feel like trash. Maybe I’m truly weak like John had said. Maybe he was right after all. A weak man can never be loved or taken serious,” I thought , as I sat weakly on the couch.

” Let me know when you change your mind, man. I can help you. I have a policeman I can arrange if you need one,” he said and patted me on my shoulder.

I was still seating down, speechless when he looked at his wrist watch and said “The time is tickling fast, and I’m still hard as fuck. Let me go have fun with my lady,”. He concluded and made his way out of the clubhouse leaving me to decide my fate…
