Chapter 18: 18

Chapter 18: 18

Zed had begun to miss Freya. She didn't come to his coffee shop anymore. It was either she sent Carla

or Jess took it to her when she was going to class. Her school wasn't far from Freya's office. He and

Soraya's sexual relationship began to bore him. They didn't do anything else apart from having sex with

him and then that was it.

He thought she coming to find him would have rekindled something within her but he was wrong. She

just wanted him to satisfy her.

I can't continue like this anymore.

I need to know my stand.

I need to know whether I am infatuated with Soraya or I'm falling for Freya.

I need to do so before it's too late. He thought to himself. NôvelDrama.Org © content.

“Just stay far, far away from me Jesse. I trusted you. I thought you had changed but clearly, you

haven't." Nichole said to him.

“Nichole, I am so sorry. It was just a spur at the moment. I just don't know what came over me. Please!"

He begged.

“Just, this last time. You blow it, that's that." She said smiling at him.

“Thank you, how about I make it up to you. We go out for dinner tonight, just you and me." He

suggested.

“That's, that's not a bad idea at all. I'd love that." Nichole agreed.

“Can I have him since you're tired of him? Pretty please" Becca begged Soraya after she told her she

was so done with Zed.

Did she want Becca to have him?

“Maybe I could manage him for a while before discarding him, besides he always comes back." She

audibly said as Zed stood there in shock.

“I've been a big fool. I shouldn't have fallen for your gimmicks once again. I hate you Soraya Wayne

and would always do." He threw the towel in her face and then stormed off.

He felt relieved as if a burden had been taken off him.

I've been a fool! He insulted as he drove himself home. He noticed Freya's car out front. He knew she

had come to see Nichole. He was so ashamed of himself that he wasn't ready to face her.

He opened the door and entered the house hoping they weren't in the living room or at the dining table

so he could sneak past them.

“You're welcome home big bro." Jess greeted loudly.

Fuck! He said to himself.

“Hey," He responded walking off, too ashamed to talk to Freya.

“Is he alright? He seems off and ashamed of something." Freya pointed out.

“I don't know for him, but he would be fine." She told her friend.

“If you say so, how has hairdressing school been?" She changed the topic.

“Hey," Freya said as Zed came out of his room. He had been there a while and thought she would be

gone by the time he came out.

“Um, hi." He nervously greeted fidgeting with his fingers.

“It been a while though, how's work and Soraya?" She asked raising her eyebrows.

“Work is great, for Soraya I don't know and don't care." He shrugged.

“I guess you guys broke up again, when would you be going back to your mistress?" She spat.

“Never." He said determinedly.

“Yeah right, anyway I missed you that's why I stayed this long to see you." She admitted.

“So you're spending the night?" He questioned because it was too late for her to drive home.

“Maybe, maybe not." She answered.

“ I know we might not be on good terms right now, but there's no way I am going to let you drive home

this late." He stood his ground.

“Okay, I would spend the night and leave tomorrow morning." She replied.

“Oh, okay that's, that's better." He said rubbing his head.

“Can I get you something to eat? Jess is in the shower." She asked.

“Yeah, I'm starving." He admitted following her into the kitchen.

I can see the colours of the rainbow

And I can feel the sun on my face

I see the light at the end of the tunnel

And I can feel heaven in its place

And that's the sign of a victory

That's the sign of a victory

I can feel the spirit of the nations

And I can feel my wings riding the winds, yeah

I see the finish line just up ahead now

And I can feel it rising deep within

And that's the sign of a victory

And that's the sign of a victory

Now I can see the distance of your journey

And how you fought with all your might

You open your eyes to global warming

And through it all, you sacrificed your life

That's the sign of a victory, hey

That's the sign of a victory

Oh, if we believe, we can achieve anything

Including the impossible, this I know

So let's lift our heads, yeah, and raise the flag, yeah

And scream like you want to win, now let the games begin

That's the sign of a victory, yeah

That's the sign of a victory, yeah

That's the sign of a victory, oh

That's the sign of a victory, yeah..."

Jackie sang her cover version of R.Kelly's Sign of a victory.

“That's beautiful Jackie, let's take a break." Her managed said as she walked out of the studio to her

room.

“Hey sis, hey Freya." She said as she joined in on face time.

“How was the recording session?" Jess asked.

“It was great, I'm on a break now, would go back in two hours." She grinned.

“By the way, how's Zed and is he still with the bitch?" She asked.

“Oh, he's fine and he's no longer with her, that's what he says. But I don't trust his words, he can go

back anytime soon." Freya sighed.

“Enough of sitting around and waiting, fight for him Freya and we are behind you on this one. He needs

to know you're serious about your feelings for him. Sitting around waiting would do no good at all."

Jackie advised.

“I've been telling her this but she doesn't seem to budge." Jess chimed in.

“Well, I guess you girls are right. Now is the time to really show my love for him and fight for it if

possible. The bitch had her chances and blew it. It's my turn now." She smiled determinedly.

“Yeah, that's the spirit, no more waiting around," Jackie added.

“Thanks, girls," Freya said.

“How's Ma and Amelia by the way?" Jackie asked.

“The last time I spoke with her they were doing great, Ma is happier now." Jess smiled.
