The Persistent CEO Wants A Baby

Chapter 32 I didn’t beg you to

Tihana almost fell to the ground but the man she bumped into was quick to hold her before she could finally land to the ground.

She looked up at the man holding her to give him her piece of my mind but adjusted back immediately she saw his face.

“OMG! I’m so sorry Tihana. Are you okay?” Diana asked from behind her.

Tihana didn’t wait for any more seconds to pass before she left the mall in a hurry.

Diana trailed behind her trying to meet her pace.

“Hey! What’s wrong?” Diana asked panting heavily.

She was literally running after Tihana to the car.

Tihana also was trying to catch her breath but she wasn’t making it too obvious unlike Diana because she had something else on her mind.

“What happened? Why did you rush out like that?” Diana asked now facing her friend completely.

“Answer me Tihana, I would like to know.”

“Take me out of here.” Tihana said coldly.

Diana was taken aback by the way her friend spoke to her.

Before the incident in the mall, Tihana was looking very happy after going to the Spa and the park with Diana.

This made Diana wonder why she now looked so upset.

“Don’t make me ask you again else I will find my way back home.” Tihana threatened and Diana didn’t hesitate.

She started the car and drove out of the mall.

Trenton ran outside but it was too late for him. They were already gone.

He wanted to confirm if who he saw was truly her or it was just a mere coincidence.

He threw a fist into the air in anger.

____

Aiden placed a call to Wayne but his number wasn’t going through. He groaned whilst he tried it again.

He has been waiting for Wayne to meet him

A cab stopped right beside Aiden and Wayne came out. He paid the cabman before turning to his boss who had a hostile glare.

Wayne knew better to start talking.

“I came here immediately I got your message which stated that I meet you at this location, I’m sorry if I kept you waiting.”

“Why wasn’t your number going through?”

“I don’t know.” Wayne shrugged.

“You don’t know what happened to your number?”

“I’m not the network dude.”

“You made me wait here for almost ten minutes.” Aiden folded his hands on his chest.

“I’m sorry, I got hooked up with something, believe me it wasn’t intentional.” Wayne apologizedNôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

Aiden scoffed and threw his car key to Wayne. He went to sit at the backseat while Wayne drove the car.

“Where are we headed to?” Wayne asked as he took a glance at Aiden through the rearview mirror.

“To the new hotel in town.”

“Why are we going there?”

“We’re meeting with a client.”

Wayne only nodded his head and focused back to the road.

Few minutes passed and they were in their destination.

Wayne found a place to park.

“Come with me and bring the briefcase along with you.” Aiden said before alighting from the car.

Wayne also alighted and he followed Aiden into the hotel.

“Welcome Mr Turner.” The business partner waiting for Aiden stood up and greeted.

Aiden accepted the handshake his business partner stretched forth before sitting down while Wayne stood behind him.

“What should I offer you?”

“You shouldn’t worry Mr Barnes.”

“I insist.”

Mr Barnes asked for a second glass cup from the waiter.

He poured some wine into the glass cup and handed it to Aiden.

“Let’s go down to the main reason we’re here Mr Barnes, I can’t afford to waste any more time.” Aiden said dropping the glass cup in the table.

Mr Barnes shook his head as he wondered how minutes Aiden has spent there that made him think he won’t spend any more time.

He arrived way before Aiden arrived but Aiden was making it seem like he was here there first.

“Alright, it’s left to you.” Mr Barnes took a sip of his wine and rested back on the chair.

Wayne brought out some papers from the briefcase and gave it to Mr Barnes.

Mr Barnes studied the papers carefully before looking back at Aiden.

“Is this everything it can offer?”

“What is that supposed to mean?” Aiden asked back, staring intensely at Mr Barnes.

“I don’t find any benefits that is up to my taste here. All are below my standard.”

Aiden stood up with anger written over his face.

“Really?!”

“Yes.” Mr Barnes shrugged.

“Then forget that we ever met .”

Aiden stomped out of the place. Wayne packed up the papers and rushed after his boss.

Just few metres to the entrance, he bumped into his worst enemy.

“Who do we have here? If it isn’t Aiden the sulker.”

“Get out of way Trenton.”

“Chill bro, I’m not here for a fight.”

“Go and find your bro in the asylum where you also belong.” Aiden said with gritted teeth.

Trenton’s expression changed to an angry one but he tried not to show it. Aiden might conclude he has defeated him.

“Congratulations on your wedding. I wasn’t in town, if not I would have attended your wedding.”

“It was better that way because I wouldn’t have liked to see your ugly face around.”

Trenton laughed out like it was funny but deep down, he was boiling in anger. He was just here to mock him but it looks like it was backfiring on him.

“I wonder how your wife keeps up with your arrogancy.”

“Look, who is not arrogant.”

“I don’t have time for your stupidity right now, so get out of my way.” Aiden said again. He pushed Trenton aside as he went outside.

“Drive me back home.” Aiden said when they got into the car and Wayne started the car again.

Wayne took occasional glance at his boss.

“Why did you stomp off like that? Don’t you think it was rude?” Wayne couldn’t help but to say.

He knew he should have minded his business but this was business and needed to be handled with care.

Aiden didn’t reply, he just stared out the window.

Wayne just sighed and continued driving.

Aiden’s phone rang and he hissed lightly before picking it up.

“What conspired between you and Mr Barnes?” Grandfather’s voice boomed in the car.

“He overstepped his boundary. How dare he say the benefits I applied were below his standard?”

“Then you would have made him understand or better still adjust it.”

“You’ve been in this for years, you should understand how it works.” Grandfather said again.

“You would go back to him and this time with your wife.”

“I don’t….”

“No objection. You would meet him again at his company, 2:00pm sharp.” Grandfather interrupted and ended the call, not giving Aiden the chance to talk.

Aiden threw his phone to the chair near him as he slipped himself down the chair and closed his eyes.

“Here is a glass of water to help you regain yourself.” Diana gave the glass cup to Tihana but she dropped it to the table, not bothering to take a sip.

“What happened at the mall, Tihana? Why did you rush out like that?” Diana asked for the upteneth time and instead, a tear rolled down her cheeks.

Tihana has refused to speak ever since they left the mall. They’ve been in silence for like ten minutes since they got to Diana’s place.

“Are you crying?” Diana asked staring at her friend but she didn’t reply.

Tihana only sniffed back her tears.

“The guy I bumped into is someone from my past.” Tihana managed to say amidst tears.

Diana paid attention to her even if she wasn’t hearing her clearly due to the sniff noises Tihana was making.

The pains, they were all rushing back like it happened just yesterday and this was something that happened years back.

The wounds she thought were closed was now reopening.

Tihana tried to hold back all the pains but it was infertile.

“He was my ex boyfriend from highschool and we had a pretty bad history together.” Tihana continued and Diana sighed.

“Aww! I’m so sorry.” Diana engulfed her in a tight hug.

She didn’t want Tihana to go further. Diana could also feel her all her pains.

“He…..” Tihana whimpered but couldn’t complete it.

“It’s alright. You will tell me later when you’re fine.” Diana said as she rubbed Tihana’s back, trying to console her.

After a hug which seemed like it was never going to end, Tihana finally stopped crying. She wiped the tears that was already drying and Diana offered her a handkerchief.

“Thank you.” Tihana said softly after a while.

“You’re welcome.” Diana gave her a sweet smile.

“Are you okay now?” Tihana nodded.

“I mean after a long lasting hug that is filled with your love and peace, I think I feel even more better.” Tihana laughed lightly.

“I’m happy that you are happy.”

“Alright, enough of this emotional drama, before you make me also cry.” Diana said again as she stood up.

“I’ll go make us some food, you know we’ve had a long day together.”

“You shouldn’t worry as I’ll soon be on my way.” Tihana tried to stop her.

“More reason I have to prepare something for you because I don’t know when next you’ll be visiting.”

“And don’t worry, I’ll be very quick.”

“Alright, then I’ll join you in the kitchen if you insist.”

“I didn’t beg you to.”

Diana left to the kitchen and Tihana shook her head before following Diana to the kitchen.
