The Odd Billionaire

CHAPTER 38

Traizle

“I am sorry for what happened a while ago.” Archane guy said while we were fixing the table.

I nodded. “It’s okay, you should tell this to our boss, not me. I am not the boss here, you know?” I answered.

It made him laugh a little. Honestly, I want to tone down the awkward tension in the room. He seems pressured about what happened a while ago and he is so timid.

He shyly scratched his neck. “I feel like I should say sorry to you as well,” he responded. “Thank you for punching them for me. I was not able to fight back because Benedict slaves were holding me tight,” he added. “I also didn’t know that they will put up this big problem. Those rich kids don’t care about other people. I never thought they will go to this extent.”

I smiled at him. “No worries, I don’t want something bad to happen to you too. You are not doing anything wrong. And as long as you are in my sight. I won’t let the others hurt you. We are the only ones who could help each other. Your family must be proud if they knew about this, that you are working your a*s off to earn money.” I replied.

He snorted. “They don’t know about this,” he answered. “He will get mad if he knows about this.” he added, grinning.

Then why is he working? Sometimes I can’t read him too.

“Do you have a boyfriend? An older one?” He asked.

“Older one? I don’t even have one. I still have to work my a*s off before finding one.” I answered.

“She will have one that is younger than her, a year younger, and that is me,” Zarsuelo butted in. “I think I saw you before somewhere. You are quite familiar, it is like I saw you at the party last Saturday,” he added, squinting his eyes. “You said that you were rich, what is your surname?” Zarsuelo asked.

“I am sorry, but I don’t want to tell you. I am using an alias, if you will ask our boss. I will take my leave now.” Archane guy said, it looks like he is avoiding Zarsuelo’s question.

“I think I really saw him last Saturday” Zarsuelo said, still thinking about whether he saw Archane at the party.

“I did not see him.” I commented.

“Maybe I saw him somewhere,” he answered, bobbing his head. “Anyway, I heard what you did to his schoolmate. Don’t get into a fight if they are outnumbering you!” He complained. “I was not able to help you because they happened to know me.”

“I can handle them, so don’t worry about me. As long as they are not holding a gun or what.” I replied.

“You really know how to protect yourself. When did you learn them?” He asked.

Thinking how I learned those. It is funny to look back and see how I managed to learn it.

“We are being abused by our parents. That is why I learned those quick reflexes.” I answered.

He is not drunk anymore, but I feel like I can still tell him about this. Why does it feel like I am comfortable with him every time we talk about our past? All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Reality hit me when I felt someone was hugging me.

“Who told you to hug me?” I told Zarsuelo, trying to get rid of his hug.

“I am sad.” he replied.

“I didn’t tell you to hug me when you are sad!” I complained, finally got rid of him.

“You guys are getting intimate, huh.” Kelvin commented while he was placing the chairs at the table we were at.

“Intimate your face.” I responded.

“Are we? I told you we belong to each other!” Zarsuelo exclaimed, grinning wickedly at me.

“You belong to yourself and I belong to myself. I thought we talked about this already?” I asked him.

“They are your friends, so I don’t think they will tell this to others,” Zarsuelo replied. “And they are not my employees either, our rules are still followed.” he added.

Since I can’t win with him, I just continue what I am doing quietly. When we finished everything, the boss gave us some snacks.

“We have to go back to the company now.” I told Zarsuelo, who was busy eating the burger.

“Already?” He asked surprised.

“Stop slacking off, move.” I replied.

Pouting Zarsuelo stood up. “Boss, I will be back next time. Traizle wants to work already.” Zarsuelo said as he bade his goodbye.

“Just visit here whenever you want.” the owner answered.

“I will be back after my work. Kelvin and Archane, you guys can take care of this Snack Bar. Call me when we have an emergency.” I told them.

“What? Will you rush yourself into trouble again? No way.” Zarsuelo complained. “I will have this Snack Bar a guards.” he suggested with his high-paid ideas.

“You don’t have to.” the owner answered.

“Don’t worry, I will pay for them. So that this won’t happen again.” Zarsuelo replied.

I have to pull him out of the Snack Bar, for him to stop suggesting new ideas he will think of.

“Let’s talk seriously,” Zarsuelo said after I dragged him out. “Don’t do that again. The boss told me what you did a while ago.” he added.

“I am fine, nobody was hurt, aside from Archane.” I answered.

“Still, it is dangerous. I don’t want you to get hurt!” Zarsuelo exclaimed. “I don’t know what I will do to them if they happened to hurt you. I will make sure that they will pay big time.” he added.

His worried expression left me speechless. He really has the knack of making people speechless. Not because he is being arrogant or anything. He is just showing his oddball side like as usual.

If this continues, I don’t know what I will do. He is starting to confuse me as time passes by.

I don’t want to get used to him.

I don’t want to fall for that oddball Zarsuelo.
