The Muse Gang

Chapter eleven

Chapter eleven

I beckoned on Marshall and Chris, making them shift their gazes from the floating men, "Look straight ahead. She's taking off her bra."

At that, Kella gasped and glared at us. As all three muses took their attention off the men, the latter continued to fall to their death. Hah! Just the fun I wanted. Marshall gawked at her and shook his head, "Darn it! She's hot.... Is she about to take off her girdle?"

Kella scolded, "Can you maniacs give her some privacy?"

Chris waved her statement away and bit his lips, "God. Just two seconds Kella. It's the last piece."

My muse whistled happily at the lady, "Go baby."

I couldn't believe some men were about to die just cause we crazy people were distracted by a half naked woman. Kella just glowered with disgust.

And unfortunately, the show was over. The woman gave us a teasing smirk and turned around to her bathroom, making sure to give the door a hard lock.

Ouch! When she was just about to take off the underwear!! How disappointing was that?

With sighs of anger and hidden amusement, the muses returned their gazes to the falling men who were just inches away from death.

Their eyes glowed again and the men began their second wave of floating. When Marshall felt satisfied with the torture, he clicked his fingers, making the men teleport to join us on the roof again. I laughed happily, watching the men before me shaking like leaves. As far as they knew, they were dead. Marshall danced satisfactorily when David asked him, "Why did you do that to them?"

He just answered, "Look bro. The fear of death is worse than death itself."

Leaving the roof top, we tracked our clan through their muse energies and teleported to them.

Well well. Seemed miss fucked up was caught in the end. Who's so pretty now? My friends just sat her in a chair, waiting for the rest of us.

Marshall walked over to her sternly, bent over and shrugged, "Okay ya. She's pretty."

She didn't look as tough as she did when she glared at me back in the party. Now I could harass her, with her looking as humble as a fucking kid.

"What are we asking her Marshall," Clinton inquired with folded arms.

My muse, who had still been watching the lady with his hands in his pockets, suddenly turned and faced us, "Where her boss is. He knows where the fallen keeps Kuma. To be precise, he keeps it."

The silence was inevitably noticeable. There was surprise and confusion. We have been looking for an idol, expecting some spirit dimension as it's abode only to find out a mortal human keeps the muse idol.

Anthony snickered and shook his head. He seemed most disturbed, "Why would they use a human to hide Kuma?"

Another round of silence until his muse broke it, "I think it's because they knew we would search for anything otherwise."

"Atta girl," I heard my muse say, "They clearly knew we would strive to find some kinda..... Portal. So they hid it with a human, one of the last things we'd expect."

Our non-chalant leader smirked, his pose proud, "Okay... wait. I understand. But how did you know this?"

Yeahhh! Story time.

He replied, "When I linked energies with my sister, we.. I mean she did a lot of teleportation, trying to make the bond come loose. It had this sequence.... Changing room, loo, hospital... Hotel!" He seemed to stress the last word as he glared at our victim.

Wagging his head back to us, he sighed, "However," taking some steps closer and acting like a critic, "this hotel in discussion never occurred in the sequence again. It seemed she went there by a mistake, then vanished immediately. Mainly because she didn't want me to notice anything. Unfortunately for her, I did. There were two people, this beautiful lady.. and her boss having a pleasant chat. After a little more of teleportation, I let her go, "he turned and gave the lady a grin. The story hadn't ended yet, "She had this impression I had given up on everything. The rest of the day was used to find out more about the two of them. Somehow, her boss is a secretive man, even when alone... But she, she wasn't." It took a moment before we realized we had taken a big leap ahead. The most exciting part was that my muse was the reason. Now we were about to know where the God damn idol was, if the bitch would tell that is. But she had no choice, did she?

Edna gave a big sigh and announced to everyone's displeasure, "We have already tried asking her some questions. But she wouldn't even say a thing!"

I then faced our abductee and bent over her. She gasped in confusion. The look that showed she had no idea of why she was taken.

"Who's ya boss," I pushed.

Turned out she was just as stubborn as my sweetheart said. She just looked at me with the one look I could recognize anywhere; the look of determination.

She was very young. If she wasn't teen, she was a few years older.., "Fine," I sighed, "are you married?"

Her look of determination seemed to soften to that of curiosity, "Yes. Why?"

Wow, she chose to finally answer. I stood upright and stretched out my hand to Marshall who immediately understood my request. He slipped out a gun from his pocket and placed in my hand.

I resumed my bending stance and aimed the pistol to her head, "What do you say I end your husband's misery of this marriage."

And ahhhh. Just what I needed. The look of curiosity now broke down to one of fear. She shook her head and blinked her tears back, "No! Please, don't! They will kill me If I I say anything. Those people are more than normal."

God knew I had no plans to make someone this beautiful cry this way, let alone kill her. But she really underestimated us. Yeah the fallen were more than normal! Then we were freaks, "In that case. Pick one. If you tell us, they kill you. If you don't, we kill you. But before you pick, I'd emphasize our methods of killing are more brutal."

I knew I was not helping matters.

She sobbed some more, "No. Please! Try to understand."

Somewhere from behind me, I heard Anthony ask her, "What do they give you for this?"

She looked down sadly at her expensive shoes. And with that, we knew just clearly what the answer was.

When we all sighed in anger and frustration, she added quickly, "I needed it. I swear!"

The fierce muse stepped forward and placed a hand on my shoulder, trying to tell me to quit the intimidation, "Tell her we'll protect her."

I rolled my eyes and rasped, "We'll protect you."

She seemed to pull the most curious face ever, "How?! Those people have ghosts as backups. They have crazy powers as far as you can imagine."

Oh, I forgot. She still thought we were NORMAL. Oh how I wanted to prove otherwise.

I cracked my knuckles and held some of her blonde hair in my hand. She looked down at it and gawked when it deepened from blonde to black, shivering understandably.

I smirked and looked straight into her eyes, "We... will protect you."

The abductee nodded and snickered, "Oh I get it. You are one of them."

"We don't have time for this," our leader who had been silent announced.

Clinton looked to his left and  smiled as he got the best idea to, "Hey David. Can I borrow your body?"

David complied silently and opened up his arms while the cheeky one possessed him.

The possessed David held out his hand to the woman who looked at it for a while. For fear of... bloodshed, she put her hand in his.

Steadily as we watched, David took her a few feet away from us. We just watched expectantly, wondering what his plan was.

They seemed to be whispering lovingly?! And David comforted her calmly and asked her for a request she seemed to agree to.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

After a few more seconds of the cheeky Clinton lying to her, David let her leave through the door, to our greatest dismay and confusion.

He then walked back to us which afterwards, Clinton left his body.

Fred was the only one non-chalant enough to speak during his state of confusion, "Why did you let her go Clinton?"

He waved our inquiring looks away and huffed, "Nevermind. She gave me the address of her boss."

There was a second wave of confusion from our side that even the non-chalant muse stood agape. After our minutes of failure and kissing of asses, he just spoke a few lies to her and she... fell. Like that, "What did you say to her?"

He eyed me as though I had insulted him, "Excuse me! I'm not a lowlife woman harasser like you. I'm Clinton, the cheeky one. A lady's man. I know how to sweet talk them into anything."

"That's my baby," his host rasped.

He returned a wink.

However, the rest of us who were not used to his balderdash still gawked.

He chuckled, stating seriously afterwards, "Still. She needs our word... our protection."

Everyone agreed silently and felt the job for tonight was done. All the madness and stuff...

Marshall and I teleported back home to my room. He played that puzzle of mine he loved while I had a shower.

When I was done and got to drying my hair, I somehow took a walk round the house and realised my siblings were asleep. Damn it! I was hungry.

11pm and I hadn't had dinner.

When I got into my room again, my muse looked up from his game, "So what would you love to eat? Tomorrow's a big day yunno. You need some sleep."

I smiled sweetly. He knew me inside out, literally, "Pudding will be fine. What's happening tomorrow?"

He swiveled around and faced me, giving me the most serious look he could fake, "On a quest for her boss aka Jordy Hardin, owner of the Hardin kitchen. One of the most luxurious restaurants in England."

A smile formed on my lips, "You know tomorrow's my sax test right?"

And yeah, Marshall broke the serious act, "You haven't still practised the devil right, have you?"

I nodded and shrugged innocently.

He swiveled some more as he stated, "Well, Clinton should go with you. He plays the sax as well as he gets laid. He may possess you and make you kill it!"

"I'm sure of an A+ then," I said as I walked up to him and admired his improvement in the puzzle pieces.

We both watched the Thor figure that formed out of the puzzle and I heard him sigh, "We are gonna win this. Just like he won it."

I prayed silently. He would be so broken if it didn't.

When he realized the aura was getting a little gloomy, he smiled and got up, "Here's some pudding," he glanced at the bowl of meal that mysteriously appeared on my table. His gaze returned to me, the narrow brown eyes trying to hide the pain his sister was clearly causing him, "I'd talk to Clinton for you."

Sighing, I patted his shoulders, "Listen bro. We're in this together. And thanks a lot. You have been a very big help to me. The cool brother I've never had."

He pretended to laugh at the moment, but I knew he felt that, "And you are the true sister I've never had. Trust me dude. You're a bigger help."

I chuckled and watched him walk backwards, "Goodnight."

He bowed professionally and vanished.

Jeeee. I felt something that I had not felt in a long time... Importance.

I turned my gaze to the puzzle and made myself a promise. If the fallen weren't stopped, maybe I'd be damned.
