Mine
Sophia
As I was led into the mansion, the fresh air was replaced by oppressive heat and a feeling of claustrophobia. The entrance hall was immense, with high ceilings and walls adorned with works of art that seemed to observe my every move. The smell of polished wood and new leather filled the air, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I was walking into a trap.
The maid guided me down a long corridor, its walls decorated with more paintings, images of people I didn't know but who looked dignified and powerful. I didn't belong in this world. My heart raced at the thought of what was about to happen.
"You will stay here," the maid said, opening the door to an imposing room. It was a space of unparalleled luxury, with a four-poster bed, heavy curtains, and dark wooden furniture. However, the beauty of the place did not bring me solace; it only deepened my discomfort.
"Prepare yourself," she instructed, without a hint of sympathy. "He doesn't like to wait."
I nodded silently as she left, closing the door behind her. I was alone, surrounded by this new environment that made me uneasy. The reflection in the mirror on the wall stared back at me: a pale face, wide eyes, the expression of someone who had lost hope.
I knew I needed to get ready, but I had no idea what to wear to please a man who had bought me like an object. I rummaged through the luxurious closet, pulling out several pieces of clothing, but nothing felt right. What did I have to offer him, aside from compliance?
After several minutes of indecision, I chose a red silk dress that hugged my curves, but made me feel vulnerable. The color was vibrant, a shocking contrast to my emotional state. Reluctantly, I put on the dress and examined myself in the mirror again. It was an image that might please him, but it left me conflicted.
Time passed slowly until the door opened again, and he entered. The man who had bought me was there, and the air seemed to grow heavier with his presence. He approached, observing me as if I were a work of art on display. "You look beautiful," he said, his deep voice resonating throughout the space. "I hope you have prepared for what comes next."
I tried to maintain my composure, but his words echoed inside me, twisting my stomach. "What do you want from me?" I asked, determined not to let him intimidate me.
He smiled, but it was not a kind smile. It was a smile that spoke of power, of absolute control. "I want you to learn your place," he replied, taking a step closer to me. "You may think you still have a choice, but I am your new owner. Here, you will do what I want."
I felt a shiver run down my spine. "That's not right," I murmured, trying to hide the tremor in my voice.
"Right or wrong, morality doesn't matter anymore," he said, his expression growing serious. "You are here to satisfy my needs and expectations. And if you do not, the consequences could be... unpleasant."
With those words, he moved even closer, and I instinctively recoiled. His gaze was predatory, and the way he moved made me feel as though I was being cornered. He leaned in, his face near mine, and I could feel the heat of his body. "Now, let's begin," he said, his voice laden with sinister expectation.
A sense of despair washed over me as I struggled to hold on, trying to find a way to escape this nightmare. But the reality was clear: I was trapped, and any resistance I showed could worsen my situation.
He extended his hand, touching my arm lightly, as if he wanted to convey a sense of intimacy. But there was nothing intimate about that gesture. It was a reminder that I belonged to him, and he could do whatever he wanted. "Learn to adapt, Sophia," he whispered, and a chill ran through my body at hearing my name on his lips. "You will find that, in the end, this may be easier than you think."
As he watched me with that enigmatic smile, I realized that the struggle had only just begun. I was not willing to let him or anyone else decide my fate. But to fight back, I needed a plan, and I needed time. And more importantly, I needed to understand the true intentions of that mysterious man.
His gaze was penetrating, and I felt vulnerable under his attention. Every movement he made seemed intentional, as if he were studying my every reaction. The tension in the air was palpable, and I knew I needed to act cautiously. "You don't need to be afraid of me,” he said, though his smile offered no comfort. "I am a just man, as long as you respect me. If you do what I ask, you will find comfort and security here. The life you had before... well, that is already in the past."
The idea of being safe in his hands made me nauseous. "And what if I don't do what you want?" I challenged, trying to show some courage.
He tilted his head, his eyes narrowing. "Therein lies the question, Sophia. I am not here to be challenged. You will see that, over time, your fears will dissipate. You will grow accustomed to this place, to me." He stepped back a bit, looking around the room as if appreciating the luxurious decor. "It's beautiful, isn't it? This house is a reflection of what I can offer you."
"I'm not interested in material things," I replied, trying to sound firm, but my voice wavered.
"Maybe," he said, turning back to me, a provocative glint in his eyes. "But comfort and security come at a price, and you will have to pay. Now, come here."
I hesitated for a moment, struggling against the urge to pull away. But deep down, I knew I had no other choice. I walked toward him, each step weighing on my heart. When I stood before him, he extended his hand, and I hesitated before touching it.
"Good start," he murmured, his smile widening. "In time, you will see that this can be a... pleasant experience. But for that, you must learn to trust me."
The thought of trusting him was repulsive. How could I trust someone who bought me? The lack of control over my life made me uneasy. But part of me knew I needed to find out more about him and what he truly wanted.
"I want to understand," I finally said, forcing the words out. "What do you really want from me?"
He watched me for a moment, as if weighing the sincerity of my question. "Smart," he replied. "I don't just want a body. I want someone who can accompany me, who can share this world with me."
"And what happens if I can't?" I asked, anxiety rising.
He stepped closer, his gaze burning with an intensity that made me recoil. "Don't think about that. Focus on what you can become. I am not an easy man to please, but I am also not cruel for no reason. Do what you are told, and you will have everything you desire."
The idea of becoming a shadow of who I used to be terrified me. But in a split second, I realized I needed to use this situation to my advantage. The fight for my freedom and autonomy was just beginning. He might have bought me, but that didn't mean I would give up on myself.
"Then teach me," I declared, determined not to be a passive victim. "If you want me to learn, show me. I want to understand this world, but I will do it my way."
He seemed surprised for a moment, and a genuine smile appeared on his lips. "You are stronger than you seem, Sophia. That pleases me. Let's see how you adapt to all of this."
Not knowing what to expect, I knew my journey was just beginning. The battle for my identity and freedom would not be easy, but I was determined to fight. With every step I took in this new world, I would find a way to reclaim what was mine and, who knows, maybe even find a way out. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
