Chapter 31: Dear engagement party
CHAPTER 31.
Christine Pov.
They were all staring at me as if I’ve gone crazy. I was mute and seriously boiling in anger.
“Don’t come near me!” I seethed at the makeup female artist who glared at me.
“Mr Fanuel would be so mad ma’am, the party is kicking off in 1 hour and you’re still acting stiff necked in getting prepared.”
I stared at the lady with disgust and hissed.
I wasn’t going to wear makeup! I’m going nowhere and I will slap this lady that’s staring at me with hatred.
“If you really wish to go to the party, why not make yourself up.. you really need it you know”.
“Just because you’re a lucky bîtçh getting married to a Hudson doesn’t give you rights to talk to me in that manner! It’s either you sit tight your big ass here and let me do my job or you keep your stinking mouth shut.”
“My heart is already burning with pains to exchange words with a numskull like you, the best thing to do is get the fuck out with your crew and leave, I’m not Interested with your shitty make-up, I’m afraid my delicate beautiful face will look like yours…. I’m still too young to scare people away.” She gritted her teeth and smiled.
“You’re a pain in the ass you bitch!! You’ve gotten a privilege to be the next world class richest wife and you’re blabbering. You whore!! Just because you’ve wrapped your legs on his waist doesn’t mean that you will be his forever, he will dump you finally dummy.” I sent a heavy crashing slap to her fair face in anger.
“How dare you call me a whore?” I yelled and she raised her hands to retaliate.
“What’s going on here?” Fanuel’s deep voice rented the room and the artist crew surged in. It seems they informed him of the messy situation going on.
I hissed and sat down back on the chair.
“Serena?” He called and I snorted, he even knew her name.
“She has refused to get her makeup done and she slapped me in the process!” She said and Fanuel cocked his head to meet mine.
“Christine?”
I threw my head away and the so-called Serena continued.
“I explained to her how much time we have left to be fast about the makeup so she won’t be late for the party but this is what I got in return.” She showed him her face and faked a sob.
“Christine?!!!” He raised his voice.
“You never told me we had an engagement party.” I yelled with tears brimming down my face.
“I just woke up from my siesta to see them standing before me and you expect me to smile and start making rubbish! For once in my life, I also need to be informed of things.”
“Are we really going to have this discussion here?”
“Does it look like I care?”
“Serena, excuse us.” He said and they all left leaving the room in total silence.
Fanuel grabbed me by the wrist and twisted my arm over making my bone crack from the turn move.
“Are you riling me up huh?” I groaned in pain.
“I can’t do this Fanuel, I don’t want this!!” I yelled in tears.
“Now listen to me, you’re going to get your shitty face done and wear that gown on the bed to our engagement party. I have dozens of friends and prominent people waiting, I have family and friends who can’t wait to see my Fiance and you would behave like a good girl by smiling all through.”
“At the expense of how I feel huh? You just wake up and tell me to do things without even telling me!”
“Excuse me? As what?”
“As your wife to be! Even though all these are fake, I deserve a little respect and not be taken unawares.”
“Tell that to your father when you see him.”
I cursed under my breath after realising how irrational Fanuel can be, the dude doesn’t give a fuck about your decisions, feelings and respect. I can’t believe I’m asking for a fairytale request before carrying out his wish.
This is the life I’m stuck in so I shouldn’t be surprised when he decides to let me drown in a pool tomorrow, I should be prepared.
All thanks to Webb.
I roll my eyes when I realize I’m being delusional. I mean, I’m no Cinderella or anything close to that. I shouldn’t expect the rich ass guy to come knocking on my door simply because I want a request as to when I want an engagement party to be conducted.
The nature of our contract is totally weird and it actually makes me laugh. Like honestly, what kind of marriage are we going to have?
I know basically nothing about Fanuel, well, apart from the stuff I googled about him. I have no idea whether he has other co relatives and I’m sure as hell have no idea about his likes and dislikes.
It doesn’t seem to bother him though. He is getting married to appease his company and fulfill the unwritten business law that states..”Thou shalt get married or lose the contract.“
I roll my eyes. Who am I kidding? I doubt getting married to him could be that pathetic really. I just have to go to work, take some overtime jobs just to kill time.
“I’m calling Serena over, so better behave yourself!”
“I need another artist!”
“What the heck! We are already late!”
“She called me a whore! I’m never allowing her to touch my face.” He blew out a breath and made a call.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“Fine, another artist is coming over…a guy.”
“Better” he stared at me and shook his head.
“I already bought you a gown, I need to see you on it before the D-day ”
I groaned in displeasure, what else will this man ever do without my consent.
“Don’t worry. You’ll love it.”
“Do you think you could consult me before making decisions that concern me?”
“Absolutely not. I don’t consult anyone, ever.”
I shake my head before standing up to look at him.
“If you don’t, what kind of a marriage are we going to have?”
“I really don’t care. All I want is a wife beside me to save my company.”
I close my eyes and fist my hands. I take a deep breath to calm my raging anger. When I reopen my eyes, he’s just looking at me wearing that unreadable expression.
“You need two bridesmaids. You better tag your friends along to meet the designer, otherwise you’ll have a rather boring wedding.”
I bite my lips to keep my tears at bay, this is my life…I’m stuck in it.
Dear engagement party, here I come.
