The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 39

Chapter 39

Not daring to look around, Meredith quickly went to the bathroom to fetch a towel for Derek.

Having a book in hand, Derek did not take it, which made Meredith a little embarrassed.

"Dry my hair with the towel." Derek said impatiently when he saw that she had stood still for a long

time.

"Oh, okay." Meredith was a little surprised. Since Derek disliked her so much, it was so abnormal that

he asked her to help dry his hair.

But now that Derek had asked this, she could only do as what he required.

He sat by the bed, so Meredith had to take off her shoes and crawl to the bed and then she kneeled

down behind him and dried his wet black hair.

Meredith stroked the man's wet hair with the towel gently and carefully. Because Derek was taller than

her, she needed to keep her upper part straight all the time.

But to her embarrassment, her breasts would easily rub against the man's back if she kept her upper

part straight. If that happened, Derek would definitely ridicule her. Thinking about this, Meredith found it

pretty hard to dry his hair.

And with the air conditioning on in the room, Meredith was already sweating.

Noticing that the force she applied was getting weaker and weaker, Derek frowned and closed the

book. Although she was struggling to maintain a safe distance from his body, he still accidentally

touched Meredith's breasts when he leaned back a little.

The softness and plumpness he felt made his eyes change immediately.

Meredith was startled. She had tried hard to avoid things like that and now was scared to death to see

what was happening. "Well, I didn't do it on purpose!"

Derek's desire was extinguished by her startled expression.

"Are you very afraid of me?"

He was the one who touched her accidentally just now. How did Meredith freak out like this?

Meredith didn't know what to say. It was quite strange that Derek didn't charge her with seducing him.

Maybe it was because he was probably in a good mood today.

"I think your hair is dry. Could I stop it?"

Meredith asked cautiously. She would rather go out to clear tables and sweep the floor than have such

close contact with Derek in the room.

She was exhausted more psychologically than physically.

"Okay." It was rare for Derek not to make things difficult for her, so Meredith was relieved. Seeing that

the man was going to change his clothes, she was about to go out to leave him alone.

"Where are you going?" Derek still remembered what she said on the phone.

It must be Parker who wanted to ask her out again.

"Well, isn't there a party at home today? Should I go out to stay away from the guests?"

Meredith did not think about Parker. She thought that it would be better for her to stay away from the

party that was going to be held today in the Xaviers to celebrate Derek's recovery from his coma. Many

celebrities and nobles men would be present. With an embarrassing identity, she did not want to be

part of the party.

"You do not have to do so. Stay at home. I have something for you to do." Derek frowned and then

unbuttoned his bathrobe and walked to the closet just in front of Meredith.

Before Meredith could say anything, she was startled by Derek's unexpected action of undressing.

The man had sturdy and defined muscular, straight and slender legs, and two clear Apollo's Belt lines.

These made her blush a little. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Although she had seen his body before, Derek had done more workouts over the past month, and he

looked much hotter than when he was lying in bed, attracting women's attention all the time.

Derek was in a much better mood when he saw Meredith lowered her head with her blushed face and

red delicate earlobes.

"Anyway, you can't leave the Xaviers today, remember?"

He could not let Meredith go out to meet Parker definitely.

"Got it." Meredith nodded.

Although she did not understand why Derek insisted that she should stay in the Xaviers, she could not

be against him since he had required it.

...

the Xaviers party was held in the evening. Although it was said to be a small banquet, many people

would attend actually.

After all, the Xaviers was the most powerful family in J City, and the party was held for its successor.

Therefore, a lot of people came as long as they could make it here, including those who had not been

invited but wanted to know the Xaviers.

Such an occasion certainly had nothing to do with Meredith.

Standing on the second floor, she watched the gentlemen, the ladies, and the celebrities who were

talking and drinking in the open-air venue. And Derek was certainly surrounded by everyone.

Derek was dressed in a black suit tonight. His perfect figure was accentuated by the tailored costumes.

There was not much expression on his face, which endowed him an air of detachment. But it was this

detachment that added a bit of mystery to him.

Meredith thought that many girls would get a crush on such a mysterious and powerful man.

As expected, she saw the people who came to the banquet did not hold back for long and rushed over

to him.

"Mr. Xavier, this is my youngest daughter. She has just returned from studying abroad. I heard that you

have just recovered, so we came all the way to see you."

"Mr. Xavier, this is my sister..."

"Mr. Xavier..."

Meredith looked at the bustling scene indifferently and took a sip of the drink in her hand.

Because of the party, she had her own fun too. She found the food prepared by the Xaviers was quite

delicious.

Vivian was busy with her work. When she looked up, she found Meredith was standing in the dark.

Because Meredith was standing in a corner on the second floor, Vivian couldn't see her expression

clearly.

She thought Meredith must feel sick with jealousy now.

Thinking this, a smug look appeared on Vivian's face, and she found an opportunity to go upstairs.

"How is it? You should be upset to see the Young Master who is being surrounded by so many ladies."

Glancing at the smug look on the her face, Meredith was speechless.

How could Vivian see that she was upset? She already knew it.

She was not so naive as to think that Derek would be loyal to her and never have another woman

again because of a marriage certificate.

For a man like him, marriage meant all kinds of benefits. Meredith would not have any fantasy about

their marriage.

"Of course not. I don't dream about things that would never happen."

"You, on the other hand, you think you can compare yourself to these girls who come from illustrious

families and receive the best education? Don't bother, even if he divorces me, you will not be the next

person to marry him."

Meredith glanced at her. She wouldn't give Vivian any respect since she always sneered at her.

Finishing her words, Meredith picked up the dessert in front of her and began to eat it leisurely, making

Vivian could not see the slightest hint of jealousy in her.

Seeing that Meredith did not care at all, Vivian sulked and could not find an outlet for her anger.

At this moment, a bustling sound came from outside the door. Meredith looked over and saw a few

people she did not know appear. Seeing this, Derek became gloomy and serious.
