Chapter 1145
Chapter 1145
Leopold and Arnold, upon receiving the urgent news, hurried back home with the kids in tow.
"Aurelia, are you alright?" Leopold and Arnold asked in unison, with worry etching deep in their voices.
They thoroughly checked Aurelia from head to toe to make sure she was unharmed before they could
breathe a sigh of relief.
Aurelia asked Skyler to take the kids to another room to play, not wanting them to see Lisa in such a
state.
Beverley was stunned as she looked at Lisa.
"Hey, what the heck happened to Lisa? She seemed fine, why would she suddenly try to off you?"
"I don't know." Aurelia shook her head, "She came over saying she wanted to invite me for a milkshake, This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
then complained of being thirsty and asked for a glass of water. As I turned to get it, she pulled a knife
on me."
Beverley slapped her forehead in realization, "I bet she was playing nice but secretly resented you all
along, plotting to get rid of you."
Aurelia didn't share that opinion.
"I think there was something seriously off with Lisa today. She seemed to be out of her mind."
"Could it be a case of intermittent explosive disorder?"
Beverley glanced at Lisa again, who by now was utterly exhausted, drooping her head, hanging down
her messy hair, and hiding her face. All that could be heard was her hoarse and weak voice buzzing
like a mosquito, "I'm gonna kill you..."
Lisa kept repeating those words, hundreds of times without stopping.
Arnold grasped her chin and forcefully lifted her head.
Her once lovely face was now pale as a ghost, twisted in a frightful expression, her eyes hollow and
lifeless, as if possessed.
He had never seen Lisa like this before. Describing it as a psychotic break seemed the only plausible
explanation.
"Lisa, are you faking this whole charade?"
Thank goodness Aurelia was safe. Otherwise, neither Arnold nor Leopold would have let Lisa off the
hook.
At that moment, Leopold was kicking himself for leaving his wife alone in the room. He should have
stayed with her.
Suddenly, Beverley shrieked as if she had an epiphany.
"What if Lisa got possessed? Didn't we feel like there was a ghost following us all day? She looks so
out of it and seems to forget us at all. She must be possessed. We need to get a priest or someone to
exorcise her."
Leopold didn't buy into the possession theory. He grabbed a glass of cold water and splashed it on
Lisa. Lisa shivered from the cold but remained in her trance, still muttering, "I'm gonna kill you..."
Aurelia suddenly thought of someone, "Beverley, go fetch Skyler, quick."
After all, Skyler was a psychologist with a Ph.D. He might be able to determine whether Lisa was
having a psychotic break.
"Okay." Beverley nodded and dashed out. She quickly returned with Skyler in tow.
Skyler gasped at the sight of Lisa, "How did Nova's mom end up like this?"
"We have no idea. She was fine one moment, but she just snapped and went after me the next,"
Aurelia explained. "Skyler, please, can you figure out what's wrong with her? Has she had a mental
breakdown?"
"Or maybe it's a haunting," Beverley added, still more convinced of the supernatural.
Skyler pried open Lisa's eyes, checking her responses.
She didn't look at him or give any sign of acknowledgment as if she had fallen into another world.
"She's been hypnotized."
"What?" The response came from everyone at once.
Skyler whispered, "Lisa, I'm going to count to three, and you're going to wake up. One, two, three."
He snapped his fingers. Lisa seemed to snap back her soul into the place and suddenly came to her
senses.
