"I'm going to kill Aurelia..." She clutched at her hair, repeating the phrase over and over like a broken
record. Her madness was flaring up again.
Sheryl could see Megan was clearly off her rocker. But the crazier she got, the better it was for Sheryl's
plans. "I'll find a way to bust you out, and then you can have your revenge on Aurelia."
At the mention of escape, Megan's eyes lit up like fireworks. "Get me out, quick!"
She couldn't stand another day in this place.
On the weekend, Aurelia had invited Lisbeth and Beverley to Magnolia Heights to discuss wedding
plans.
The Stirling family always celebrated their big occasions at Magnolia Heights.
Servants came forward, carrying a bridal gown.
"Lisbeth, this dress just arrived from Paris yesterday. Why don't you give it a try?"
Lisbeth disappeared into the room and emerged transformed.
"Wow, you look stunning!" Beverley clapped her hands in delight.
Lisbeth managed a faint smile, but Aurelia noticed she lacked the excitement and joy of a bride-to-be.
Her demeanor was far too composed.
"I really like this dress," Lisbeth confessed after changing back into her clothes and sitting next to
Aurelia.
"Lisbeth, I have another surprise for you," Aurelia said, picking up a remote and turning on the wall-
mounted TV.
A hunky and handsome man appeared on the screen, holding roses and kneeling before Lisbeth.
"Lisbeth, I love you. I want you to be my wife, to spend the rest of our lives together..."
"Oh my God, it's a proposal video from Raines!" Beverley gasped, covering her mouth in shock.
The man in the video was none other than the genuine Raines, looking drastically different from his
current self.
Tears streamed uncontrollably down Lisbeth's face.
It was an edited video, filled with sweet moments of their time together.
Aurelia smiled. "I got these videos from Raines' best friend in Goldendell and put this together as a
surprise for you both."
She paused, then added, "You can tell if a man loves a woman by the look in his eyes. Raines has
such a deep and syrupy look when watching Lisbeth. He's totally smitten, no doubt about it."
"Absolutely," Beverley nodded vigorously. "When Raines looks at Lisbeth, it's like she's his whole world.
Lisbeth, you're so lucky."
Lisbeth stood up from the sofa, looking a bit pale. "Excuse me, I need to use the restroom."
As she left, Aurelia and Beverley exchanged glances. Beverley raised her voice a bit. "To find a
soulmate is to find the one with whom you can grow old. It's not easy to find someone who truly loves
you in this world."
Aurelia added, "In this flashy and superficial world, true love has become the rarest of commodities.
Those who find it are indeed blessed by the heavens. Out of a billion people on Earth, you might only
find one true pair. If a woman meets a man who truly loves her, she shouldn't let him go, or she'll regret
it for the rest of her life."
