The CEO’S Unplanned Heir novel (Aurelia and Leopold)

Chapter 1068

Chapter 1068

The old seer said, “My dear, the cards reveal a troubling tale. Someone's demise has been linked to

you, her spirit restless and haunting. They say it's easier to make enemies than to shake them off. I can

perform a ritual to soothe the spirit, but you must earnestly seek forgiveness to set them free for

rebirth.”

Sheryl's mouth twitched slightly.

She didn't believe she had done anything wrong.

After all, Joyce and Fredric weren't married at that time, so why shouldn't she pursue him?

Love was a battlefield and everyone's fair game.

“Master, I need a word with you in private.”

She left Aurelia and Beverley in the waiting room as she followed the old man to the backyard.

A long while later, she returned.

“Let's head back.” NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

Aurelia had no clue what Sheryl discussed with the old man, but the old man's loyalty had been bought

by Aurelia.

Back at the hotel, her assistant sent her a message.

Sheryl had requested a ritual from the old seer to shatter Joyce's spirit completely.

Aurelia was shocked. She had hoped Sheryl would truly repent and seek forgiveness, and maybe then

Jelena would find peace.

But this was a low blow. She seemed to hold no remorse at all.

Indeed, people who invite pity often have hateful aspects too.

Beverley, sitting beside her, glanced at the message and was equally stunned.

“Has Sheryl lost her mind? Does she even know what she's doing? We need to talk some sense into

her.”

Aurelia grabbed her arm, “Confronting her would give us away. She might think we're setting her up.”

Beverley pursed her lips, “Then we'll be subtle.”

They went to Sheryl's room.

She was applying a face mask at the time.

Beverley said, “Sheryl, have you scheduled the ritual yet?”

“Yeah.” Sheryl nodded.

“Sheryl, you need to reach out with sincerity and don't provoke the spirit. If you do, it'll only get more

ferocious, and you'll face the backlash,” Beverley continued.

Aurelia nodded in agreement, “Exactly, you can only appease a spirit, not fight it. Only by resolving this

grudge can you set them free to be reborn. Don't even think about scattering the spirit, and it's an

impossible feat. This is your own karmic challenge, and only you can resolve it, otherwise, it'll backfire.”

Sheryl shrugged, “Am I not miserable enough already? What's worse than this? Don't worry, and I

know what I'm doing.”

Aurelia could only hope that their words had some effect.

After returning from the valley, Aurelia found some time to have lunch with Jelena.

“Has Fredric been in touch with you recently?”

“Yes, but I have no desire to see him before his divorce is final,” Jelena said nonchalantly.

Aurelia poured her some juice before continuing, “Are you doing this for Chloe's sake?”

Jelena flinched, struggling to remain calm, “What are you talking about? What does she have to do with

anything?”

Aurelia said, “Jelena, I know the truth. Fredric's ex-fiancée Joyce is your friend Chloe.”

Jelena brushed her hair behind her ear.

“Silly girl, what are you thinking? We lost touch after she entered showbiz. If you hadn't mentioned it, I

would have nearly forgotten about her.”

Aurelia gripped her hand, “Jelena, we grew up together, and you can't lie to me. You know everything

about her, and that's why you called Sheryl the mistress.”

Jelena withdrew her hand and took a sip of her juice.

“I've heard things, sure. Meeting Fredric was sheer coincidence, nothing to do with her.”

“Does Chloe's situation upset you?” Aurelia asked and watched her intently, not wanting to miss any

subtle reaction.
