Chapter 29
JASON STOKES
I still couldn’t believe what Carl had told me over the phone as I sped towards the address he had texted me.
“Lexi was pregnant,” I thought to myself bitterly, “living a romantic life while I was living a platonic one.”
I parked my car at the junction and began to trek towards the address Carl had provided. It struck me as odd that Lexi would leave me for someone living in a slum. The thoughts churned in my mind as I walked, each step feeling heavier than the last.
After fifteen long minutes of walking, I finally reached the address. I checked my watch-it was 11:16 PM. I stood before the door, taking several deep breaths to steady myself, unsure of what I would find on the other side.
After knocking on the door, I stood there in anxious anticipation, each passing moment feeling like an eternity. The seconds stretched into minutes before I finally heard footsteps approaching from inside.
“Hi,” a young guy said as he swung the door open. My eyes met his, and in that instant, a surge of conflicting emotions washed over me. This was the man Lexi had chosen over me-someone who, in my estimation, fell short in every way compared to myself.
“Hey, good evening. I’m looking for a friend, Lexi… Lexi Tyler,” I managed to say, trying to keep my voice steady despite the turmoil inside me.
The guy seemed indifferent as he replied, “And you are?”
“Just tell her it’s a friend,” I responded tersely, my jaw clenched.
He nodded and closed the door briefly, calling out, “Lexi!”
Her voice, unmistakable and hauntingly familiar, echoed from inside. “Yes?”
“Someone is looking for you,” he informed her.
“Who?” Lexi’s curiosity was evident in her tone.
“He said a friend,” he answered, sounding disinterested.
“He?” Lexi repeated, a note of confusion lacing her voice.
“Yes, he. He’s waiting,” he confirmed.
“Okay, I’m coming,” Lexi replied, her response sending a wave of nervous anticipation through me.
I adjusted myself, trying to maintain a neutral expression as I heard her ask the guy, “Where is he?” before opening the door. Every heartbeat felt amplified, and my mind raced with thoughts and emotions as I waited for her to appear. **LEXI TYLER POV**
I was so shocked when I opened the door and saw Jason standing there. It took me a moment to gather myself.
“Long time, no see,” he said, his tone devoid of any warmth.
“Jason,” I uttered in disbelief. “What are you doing here?”
“To see for myself if it’s real,” he replied tersely.
“Ben, lock the door! I need to talk to someone,” I called out to the guy inside, needing a moment to collect my thoughts.
“Okay,” Ben replied obediently.
“Your husband?” Jason asked as I led him to a bench on the other side of the house.
“Sorry?” I responded, caught off guard by his question.
“Is he your husband?” Jason clarified.
“No,” I answered plainly.
“Boyfriend?” he continued, probing further.
“No,” I repeated, my mind racing with uncertainty about where this conversation would lead.
“The father of your baby?” Jason asked, his voice strained.
“No, roommate,” I replied tersely. “Can you manage this?” I added, gesturing towards the bench.
“Yes,” he replied shortly.
We both sat down, an uncomfortable silence hanging between us. I struggled to find the right words to break it.
“You promised not to leave me,” Jason finally said, his voice tinged with hurt.
“I didn’t,” I replied quietly, feeling the weight of his accusation.
“Stop playing games with me, Lexi. I’m not here for that. I’m here for answers. You said you would never leave me, but you left without turning back for just a million dollars,” he said, his cold gray eyes fixed on me in the dim light.
“I didn’t,” I insisted, my own emotions starting to surface.
“Okay, then, you left because you are in love with another man, a man who can’t even afford a good environment,” Jason accused bitterly.
“That’s none of your business,” I shot back defensively.
“Of course, it isn’t my business,” he retorted sarcastically.
“I’m done here if that’s why you’re here,” I said, frustration seeping into my voice as I turned to leave.
“Lexi!” he called out, his tone pleading, reminiscent of how he used to call me lovingly. “Are you really going to leave me here? I drove six hours just to be with you. Was your love for me a lie?”
“My love for you was never a lie,” I replied firmly, pausing in my steps to face him.
“Then tell me what I did wrong. Why would you leave me for another man if not for the money?” Jason pressed, his voice tinged with desperation.
“I never left you. Not for a man, nor for the money. I was just trying to protect myself,” I explained, my emotions raw as I tried to make him understand.
“From who? Me?” Jason asked, his confusion etched deeply across his face.
“From people who were threatening me,” she replied, her voice tinged with fear. “Some want me dead because of our relationship. Even your dad threatened me. Our child means everything to me. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep him safe from harm.”
“You should have told me. Who am I if not your protector?” Jason’s voice cracked with emotion, his heart sinking.
“I was scared then, and I’m still scared now,” I admitted, her words trembling slightly. “I didn’t tell you, but someone pulled a knife on me at the club. I kept getting calls from strange numbers. It was terrifying. I had to protect our baby. He was only a month old, and he needed to be safe from those people.”
“Our… baby?” Jason stuttered, struggling to comprehend. “Did… did you just say… our baby? But… you said you were on birth control.”
“I don’t know how it happened. I was on birth control,” she said softly, tears welling in her eyes.
“Are you saying… this pregnancy is mine?” Jason asked, his disbelief turning into a whirlwind of emotions as he stood up from the bench.
“Yeah. He’s your son, and you’re his father. I planned to tell you after he was born, but finding you here, I knew you deserved to know. I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings. I was just trying to protect our son.”
He approached me, taking both of my hands and gently tilting his head to maintain eye contact. “I was angry with you, and I still am, but seeing you with our baby means everything to me.”
Then he kneeled down, resting his ear against my stomach. “Hey, cutie, how are you doing in there? Daddy is saying hello… I know I showed up late, but Mom is to blame for that. I think she deserves to be punished. Okay.” He rose back up and turned to me. “I thought I’d never see you again.”
“I’m sorry,” I whispered.
He pulled me close, resting his head against mine and inhaling deeply, breathing in the scent of my hair.
“I’ve missed it,” Jason finally said, his voice laden with longing and vulnerability. He gently lifted my chin, his touch tender, before leaning in to kiss me softly. His hands moved slowly, tracing the contours of my body with a mix of familiarity and desire.
“Oh! Sorry!” Ben’s voice broke the moment, filled with shock as Jason and I quickly pulled apart. “I just wanted to… make sure that you’re okay,” he stammered, his face flushed with embarrassment.
“Oh, Ben,” I managed to say, attempting toThis text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
regain my composure. “This is Jason, the guy I’ve told you about.”
“Really?” Ben’s surprise was evident, his eyes widening slightly.
“Yeah,’ I confirmed with a slight nod.
“Nice meeting you, Ben said, extending his hand for a handshake and attempting to diffuse the tension with a polite gesture.
“Nice meeting you too, Jason replied politely, though his eyes remained fixed on mine, a mix of emotions-uncertainty, protectiveness, and perhaps a hint of jealousy.

“Are you sure the baby is going to be okay?” Jason asked again, his concern evident in the furrow of his brow.
“Yeah, I don’t think there will be any problem,” I reassured him softly, sensing his worry.
“You don’t think there will be any problem, or there won’t be a problem?” Jason pressed, seeking clarity.
“There won’t be a problem,” I affirmed with a nod, hoping to ease his anxiety.
Later that evening, we decided to stay at a nearby hotel since Jason was too tired to drive back to the city or sleep in the house where I was hiding.
“I’m scared I’m going to hurt our baby,” Jason confessed, his voice tinged with fear and protectiveness.
“Pregnant women do it,” I said gently, trying to lighten the mood with a hint of humor.
“Okay,” Jason replied, though his worry still lingered in his eyes.
We settled into the hotel room, the soft lighting and comfortable bed offering a brief respite from the day’s tensions. Jason, still concerned, moved closer to me.
“I just want to make sure everything’s okay,” he murmured, his touch gentle as he caressed my abdomen.
I nodded, understanding his need for reassurance. His fingers traced delicate patterns over my skin, a silent promise of support and care. As we lay together, the warmth between us grew, and Jason’s touch shifted, becoming more intimate.
He tenderly explored my body, his movements both cautious and loving. His touch ignited a familiar sensation, awakening my senses amidst the gentle throes of pleasure. Minutes passed in the quiet rhythm of our shared moment until he withdrew, his gaze locking with mine.
“I love you,” Jason whispered, his voice a soft declaration in the dimly lit room.
“I love you too,” I replied, feeling a surge of affection and gratitude for this man.
He placed his dickey at the entrance of my starved, creamy pussycat and slowly pushed its head in.
“Ah…” I moaned and pushed my pussycat up for more while he rested his weight on his hands before pulling out of me and pushing in again and again and again and again.
“Lexi,” he growled before losing his last restraint and starting to bang me the way I’ve been yearning for months.
“Lexi!” He growled again. “I’m going to come.”
I raised my pussycat higher and put my hands on his butt to pull him down on me harder while he screamed “Oh my God!” between gritted teeth as he trembled and froze with closed eyes.
A few seconds later, he pulled out of me and said, “I’m sorry if I didn’t last long.”
“It’s okay,” I replied, even though I still wanted more.
He shifted back and laid on his stomach between my legs, and before I knew what was happening, his tongue was already inside my pussycat.
“Hmmmm,” he moaned as he used his hands to spread my thighs wider. “I’ve missed it.”
I rubbed my pussycat more into his face and held on to the bedspread as the pleasure was running through me, and before I knew it, I cummed.
