The ceo’s secretary

Chapter 11

I went back to my office to continue the search for the file, which I later found in another file on my table.

“How come?” I thought

I took it out, matched it to his office, and dropped it off with an I don’t care attitude.

“What is that?” He asked

“The file,” I answered, and I went back to my office without looking back, even though I could feel his eyes on me with every step I was taking.

Later in the day, Cynthia sent a text to me, and I was about to reply when a very tall and beautiful young lady came into my office.

“Good afternoon. How can I help you?” I asked with my professional smile pressed to my face.

The woman gave me an irritated look and said just one word, which broke my heart.

“Dixie”

‘So she is Dixie. I was hoping she wouldn’t come.

I compared myself to her, and I knew I had no chance of competing with her.

After spending an hour with him in his office, they left, and Dixie waved and winked at me on their way out.

‘What was that supposed to mean?’

I went to my lunch break with the thought of what they might be doing at the back of my mind and ordered a cake and a Fanta while waiting for Stephanie.

‘Where are you?’ I texted Jason and waited for his reply, which never came through.

“I’m sorry for coming late,” Stephanie said while drawing out a chair.

“It’s okay”

We started chatting as usual, but my mind wasn’t really in it because I kept checking my phone for his call or message.

“Are you expecting something?” Stephanie asked

“Sorry?”

“I mean, are you waiting for a call or something? because you’ve been checking your phone for some time now.”

“Yeah, my sister’s,” I said with a fake smile.

“Hope everything is okay.”

“Yeah”

“I might visit you this weekend, if you don’t mind.”

“Of course I don’t. I will be really happy to have you over.”

“And is it possible for me to sleep over at your place because my boyfriend is visiting his sick uncle this weekend and I don’t want to be alone?”

“With maximum pleasure.”

We finished our lunch, and I sent him another text on my way back to the office.

‘Will you be coming back to the office?’

‘No’ he texted back.

‘What was that supposed to mean?’

Peter called me a couple of times on my way home, but I ignored them because I couldn’t tell him the truth.

I continued my Adam Lee season movie when I got home and kept hoping that Jason’s message was going to pop up on my phone, which never happened.

I gave up some minutes to midnight with the thought of what they might be doing on my mind.

“How dare you come close to my man?” Dixie asked and hit me across the face.

“I don’t know what you are talking about,” I said back.

“Don’t you dare talk back to me, you liar,” she said, and she hit me across the face once more.

“You are nothing but someone he fucks when he wants,” I said back angrily.

“Do you think a little trash like you can come between us? I and Jason have been together since high school, and who are you to come between us?”

“I might be nobody, but that doesn’t change the fact that he doesn’t love you.”

“Pringles! Pringles!” She called, and Jason showed up from nowhere and winked at me. “Let’s show her how strong our love is,” she directed to him.

She moved closer to him, and they started kissing until I couldn’t take it anymore.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” I screamed

“Lexi! Lexi! Lexi!” Judith was calling from far away, “Lexi, open this door! Alexi!”

“Yes,” I answered sluggishly.

“Open this door. What is wrong?”

“Nothing. Just a bad dream.”

“Okay. Get up; you’re going to be late.”

“Okay. Good morning”NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

“Good morning”

‘That wasn’t true. That was just a dream. Jason didn’t like her. I started convincing myself in the bathroom.

I wasn’t really eager to go to work today since Jason ignored my yesterday’s texts, but I went because that may be a step toward losing everything.

Jason arrived not long after my arrival and waved at me on his way to his office, which I didn’t return to because I was still battling with the thought of what might have happened between them throughout last night.

‘Will I find a hickey on him?’ I thought

I went to his office with a straight face when he called me in and dropped the document he asked for.

“It seems as if someone isn’t in a good mood today.” He said it and smiled.

“And it seems as if someone is too happy this morning?”

“Alexi, come on, sit down, and tell me what is wrong,” he said worriedly.

“I’m okay, sir.”

“You are not. I know something is bothering you.”

I drew out the chair and sat in front of him.

“I’m all ears.”

“Where were you yesterday? I asked

He looked at me, as if I’d gone mad before speaking.

“Really?”

“Yeah, you asked me what was wrong, and I’m telling you what was wrong.”

“I owe you no explanation.”

“Yeah, of course, yeah,” I said sarcastically. “You can own me, my boobies, my pussycat, and my mouth, but I can’t even ask you about where you were yesterday,” I said with demonstrations.

“Why are you so concerned about where I was yesterday?”

“Because my mind is telling me that you were cheating on me the whole time.”

“Lexi, get something straight. One: I owe you no explanation about where I was yesterday. Two, I am not in a relationship with you, and three, it’s not as if you aren’t seeing other men.”

“What! What do you mean by that statement?”

“Stop the crocodile tears, Lexi, because they won’t work on me. I saw you with that guy on the street; you were kissing him, but you said you were in a grocery store.”

“I wasn’t kissing him. He kissed me.”

“Either way, you didn’t stop him.”

“How dare you stalk me?”

“I wasn’t stalking you. I just wanted to make sure that you are as innocent as you claimed to be, but to cut a long story short, my innocent girl isn’t as innocent as she claims to be.”

“Liar! You are a liar. You have been stalking me since the first day, and the only reason you employed me was because you wanted more.”

“Tell me you didn’t enjoy them.” He asked and smirked.

“Fuck you,” I said, and I slapped him across the face while Jada entered.

Jada was shocked, but I don’t give a damn about her reaction. I ran out of his office to mine and took my bag without looking at it. Stokes enterprise was over for me.

I texted Cynthia as soon as I was in a taxi.

‘I got fired”

‘What!? What happened!? How come!?’

‘I fired myself’

‘Now, you are not making sense’

‘I’m gonna explain to you better in the evening. Are your keys still where you used to keep them?’

‘Yes. Feel at home. I will be joining you as soon as possible.

‘Alright. Thank you’

‘Bye’
