I entered the office and I was shocked to see Tracy organizing my table, I can never get enough of her
beauty, I just want to go to her and kiss her senseless but then I knew I can't.
She fell to the floor and I was tempted to run to her, hold her in my arms and ask if she is okay, I
wanted to ask her what was wrong tucking the hair that escaped her ponytail behind her ear, but I
stood my ground and stared at her blankly like the CEO I am.
Tony entered and rushed to her side to help her up.
"Are you okay miss Jones?." He asked but she didn't say anything, she was just staring at me.
"When is the meeting with OCTF?" I asked Tony
"In less than an hour sir."
"Okay then."
"This is your assistant sir, I would be sending her your schedule for the rest of the month."
"Okay."
"Come with me, Miss Jones." He said but she shook her head, she pointed at me then dropped her
hand
"What's wrong?" He asked looking from her to me.
"Leave us alone Tony," I said and he nodded.
When Tracy and I were alone, I looked at her hoping she would say something, give me an
explanation, or something but then she said nothing, she kept staring at me her mouth slightly opened.
"Hi," I said trying to start a conversation but I guess it didn't sit well with her, her face became red as it
always does whenever she's angry, part of me was happy that she hasn't changed.
"Hi? Alex, you dare to open your mouth and tell me hi?" She asked coming closer
"What am I supposed to say Tracy?, What do you expect me to say?" I asked getting a little angry
myself, why would she ask me that question like she's accusing me of doing something bad, I admit I
was away for years but at least I'm not the one snuggling up to another person neither am I the one
with two children with another person.
"Why are you here?" She asked and I almost laughed
"This is my company, Tracy."
"Why are you here at all? Why is your company even here?!" She asked hitting my chest but I barely
felt it.
"Stop talking like that."
"Like what? tell me like what?" She asked pushing me again
"Tracy!, I am not the one snuggling up to another person, we are not even divorced yet and you are
doing just that."
"What?" She asked dropping her hands to her side, the hurt was written everywhere on her face, I felt
like she was trying to play the victim but something told me she was genuinely hurt.
"What I am trying to say is we should sign the divorce papers first, then you can do anything you want
with anybody you like," I said my voice coming out lower than I wanted it to.
"What do you mean?"
"Stop it Tracy!, You know what I mean, I went back to Florida and when I got home you were nowhere
to be found, our house is there, dust and cobweb-infested, I came here, and I waited in front of your
house for days, for days Tracy, I came back yesterday to see you snuggling with your man and your
children, tell me did you give birth to them or those are his children?, Tell me what did he offer you that
you couldn't wait for me?, Tell me why you left home like that?, Tell me why Tracy, we are still very
much married Tracy but you have two kids with another man, tell me why!" I said frustrated
Her face was pale like she saw a ghost, her lips trembled while her beautiful eyes shed tears, I wanted
to hold her and tell her to stop crying but I was feeling too hurt and frustrated to reach out, I suddenly
felt like my energy was sucked out of me, I leaned on the door tired.
Minutes later, Tracy stopped crying and she wiped her face.
"Excuse me, sir." She said and for a minute I thought I heard wrong because her voice was hoarse.
"Sorry?"
"Excuse me, sir." She said staring at the door behind me, I was very confused by the change in
attitude, one minute ago she was a perfect image of water work but now she sounded so cold and
exhausted, she was expressionless.
I was confused but I moved out of the way, she left the office to God knows where while I moved to my
seat, I sat down and pondered what happened within the past few minutes.
Maybe I was too harsh on her, but I confronted her and she couldn't say a word, she didn't tell me I was
wrong like I wished she would, that hurts more than my father's harsh words and treatment.
I kept thinking about everything that happened until someone knocked.
"Come in," I said and Tracy came, she was looking a little bit better, she had hair repacked and she
looked all business, the only reference to what happened was her red eyes.
"Your meeting with OCTF is in 10 minutes and this is the document you might like to go through, the
meeting would last for thirty minutes, after the meeting with OCTF, you have a meeting with the sales
department, they would be presentations and it would last for an hour, you have an hour free after
that." She said and I stared at her confused
"Tracy, what is going on? What are you doing?" I asked hoping she'd look at me but she didn't.
"My job sir."
"So, you are seriously not going to talk about everything? You are not going to talk about what
happened?"
"We are at work sir and I'd prefer we talk business." She said still not looking at me.
She sounded so cold, I realized she was giving me the attitude, good thing two can play that game.
