Chapter 1455
Lying there, Felicity actually drifted off to sleep.
If her phone hadn't started ringing off the hook, she really wouldn't have bothered to open her eyes. Groggily reaching out, Felicity didn't even realize she hit the speaker button, "Hmm? Who is it?"
"Who, who, who, who else could it be! Of course, it's your day-and-night, sleepover buddy, the handsome hunk Calvin! Ever since you jetted back home, you've vanished off the face of the earth, abandoning your poor hubby and our love child. Felicity, do you even have a heart?"
His shouting jolted Felicity awake, and she looked up to find the whole room staring at her!
Especially Jeffrey, his eyes full of shock, "Day and night together? Sleepovers?"
Karen immediately leaned in, her gossip-loving soul igniting, "Who's that, who's Calvin? A handsome hunk, how hot is he? Got a pic?"
It was as if Felicity couldn't clearly hear their voices.
Her gaze inadvertently moved past the living room, clashing with Miles, who was in the middle of a chat with her dad in the dining area... Clearly, he heard everything too.
On the phone, Calvin was still loudly asking, "Felicity, who's talking?"
She twitched the corners of her mouth a few times, "...my parents."
"Ah?" Calvin immediately lowered his tone, magically sounding all sweet and docile, "Hello there!"
Karen blinked, sensing drama.
"Are you my daughter's boyfriend? You guys...live together?"
Sensing Calvin was about to blurt out something else potentially scandalous, Felicity quickly cut in, "What do you want? If it's nothing, I'm hanging up! Bye!" Then, without waiting for a response, Felicity promptly ended the call, fearing Calvin might drop more bombshells.
But the call was ended, the words Calvin said couldn't be taken back.
Even Dorothy Sanchez came over with a plate of apple pie, her smile warm, Felicity has a boyfriend too, huh? Why didn't you bring him along to meet us all?" novelbin
Felicity really wanted to deny it, but the moment her eyes landed on Esther's face, she instantly changed her mind.
"Yes, my boyfriend. He's really tied
up with work and couldn't spare a
few days to come back with me!
Next time...next time I come back, I'll bring him."
Sitting on the side, Karen's eyes were practically sparkling, "Sweetheart, do you have a picture of him? Mom is super, super, super curious!"
As the old saying goes, one lie leads to a hundred more.
With no other choice, she scrolled through her phone for a photo from a sunrise outing with Calvin and a few friends.
One of the pictures showed just the two of them.
Calvin, that shameless guy, had his arm around her shoulders.
Karen excitedly snatched the phone away and ran over to Dorothy, "Look! This is Felicity's boyfriend, quite the looker, huh?" "Hmm, quite handsome."
Dorothy nodded in agreement.
It wasn't just them being polite; despite Calvin's loose lips, he did possess a handsome face with dimples that appeared whenever he smiled Felicity often remarked that he had the face of a heartbreaker!
"Langston! Come take a look, this might be your future brother-in-law! Handsome, isn't he?" Karen, holding the phone, made a beeline for the dining area. "Hey, Mom!" Felicity, sensing trouble, didn't bother with slippers and tried to intercept.
But it was too late.
She was met with Miles's deep voice.
"Average."
